Oh that was great! I just love Latin and Brazilian music. You forgot to mention that you have to lay back a little bit to get the right "feel" as it is not captured in the written form! Excellent as usual! dB
Love this tune. You're saying it's a minor 2-5-1, but there are plenty of important notes outside of that. Also, you're teaching this like classical music. After I memorize it, I can play it verbatim, but I can't write new pieces like it.
Again a very nice and gentle lesson. I found the delta between step 6 and 7 a little bit large. IMO it would have been better to first focus on measure 1-4 and expand it with measure 5-8 in a later step so one can practise the tricky 2-against-3 rhythm in shorter cycles. Any tipps how to count this 2-vs-3?
The easiest way to play 3 against 2 is to play quarters against dotted quarters on a 3/4 measure. Once you get it fast enough switch your perception of the beat as being the dotted quarter.
Hi, I just became a member and would like to download the sheet music of the latin jazz that you're playing at the beginning of the video, but cannot find the link on the Membership tab. Could you please tell me where can I find it? Thanks
Hi, that one is probably older than 2 months. Remember that you can only see the most recent PDFs up to two months. (Just to be fair with members that have been active for longer) but no worries, send me an email to mdecksmusic@gmail.com and I can help you with that pdf.

Yeah, you are right about that!

Yes,this workout is just to learn the piece and get the rhythms down, like in classical music.

Would be great to know which Caribbean land uses that rhythm, thanks
Probably Dominican Republic (where Michel Camilo is from)
@@mDecksMusic fine thanks 👍
I mean it describes how to play this latin piece, but how does improvising in latin-jazz works?
Aha! That's for another video :)
