Excellent. However, it would have been even better if it had gone from Then to Now and back again to Then. I ended up having to stop the video and go back. But a minor gripe...
I worked in downtown Richmond for many years and I recognized some of these buildings from the "then" pictures. When I was in Nimes, France years ago I saw a structure, I think it was a temple. I was struck by how much it looked like the Capitol building in Richmond. I had good reason to think that as I learned later that Thomas Jefferson used it as a model for the Richmond Capitol building.
Ah RVA. I had some random guy try to sell me a snub nose for 40 bucks, right on broad street- in broad daylight no less. It was fun living there for a couple of years though. Amazing!!!
Excellent. However, it would have been even better if it had gone from Then to Now and back again to Then. I ended up having to stop the video and go back. But a minor gripe...
Are the sections of the town that look like an earthquake hit them, due to damage during the Civil War?
Yes. The city was burned
@Baba Ganush when did the British attack US
No, due to BLM and lawless mobs of black racists.
@@SACHINYadav-sn4op 1775.......&........1812..........Burned Washington DC.......an Yes the White House.....
Does anyone what music this is?
Trying to find out. Siri doesn't know. LOL
I want to find out where the pictures were taken each one please how do I find out the coordinates are the address of each one of these photos
Omg this is amazing
Superb....
I need the addresses of these locations the pictures are very stunning how do you get the addresses please let me know ASAP
What is the music used here?
Richmond has fallen again. As before, it will never be the same as history is demolished.
Ah RVA. I had some random guy try to sell me a snub nose for 40 bucks, right on broad street- in broad daylight no less. It was fun living there for a couple of years though. I had an apartment right in carytown- sometimes when it was nice I'd walk to my classes. The area surrounding Richmond is a smoldering pile of sh*t though. The place is crawling with junkies and panhandlers knocking on your car windows. Classy times. Its fascinating seeing these old photographs and imagining the lives of the people who lived there long before us...
Amazing music
Was just there for work. Seems like a nice area, just need to get rid of those damn toll roads.
I was born in RVA nice upload ❤
My dream to visit the deep south. Since seeing films like GWTW and Glory. Historical images of war torn cities around the world fascinate. Great photos.
It’s a sad city yes but the music scene is beautiful
Marvelous dissolve photography.
I wonder 300 years from now if someone will compare today’s pictures with there era
As a Virginian and a 'Hoo, and a progressive, and with my Dad still living in Manakin--Sabot, really enjoyed this video. Richmond is great and always will be a great city in a great country. Sorry for the slavery, and all that. Very regrettable.
Sorry for the slavery! Did you partake in it! If you’re so progressive stop buying stuff from China as they have slaves as we speak!
Kind of eerie knowing that everybody is long dead and turn to dust
What song is this
Amazing
Nice pictures but it would have been nice to label which each area and building was.
Wow it's cool to see the change, I live in Virginia it's beautiful here, but lots of farms lol
It was beautiful then but we destroyed it now...
🏍️ Does writing that really make you laugh out loud ?😆
Hey anyone that *currently* lives in Richmond, is the Galaxy diner in carytown still open? The place that used to sell $1 pbrs (back in my day, when the dinosaurs roamed the earth) no idea if they still do...but if you know please tag me
@conclave_cabal Galaxy diner is still alive and well. PBR has gone up but still cold
@@jacobwhealton492 Thanks man!
I hope most of those statues are still up.
Sadly the monuments are gone.
Excellent. I think, on balance, I prefer 'Then'.
@John Craske.. Then, when we had Chesnut trees 100ft tall and a equally sized spread. But we had horrible people. Like now.
John Craske I've thought about how it would be to go back and live in those days. But then 2 words bring me back to reality; Dental Care. 🤢
Spectacular
This landscape was not from 5 years ago. The people in the pictures are from the 18 hundreds.
You did a really good job the brain the music back to life to see you with pictures from the past now from the future you did a good job so keep up the good work and I have a channel is a western one is called American wild west you would like it it’s about old westerns in legends in outlier stuff so I love your work do you have a really good job you’re bringing to life the music the pictures I can feel the spirit of the worst making between the grass of the past and the spirit of the west you do any good job 👍
I really wish something like this would be done for Philadelphia PA
magnificent
Old times there are not forgotten.
To live and die, in Dixie.
Stars & Bars shows Heritage, not hate.
It looked a lot better then, but now it’s looking worst cause of Mayor Stoney and the Governor!! I won’t go down Monument Avenue ever again !!!
Good be racist at home
Don't want to be critical but I don't like the slow fades bc you're looking at a garbled mess for a few seconds and then you lose the comparison. They should alternate back and forth a few times w some very quick fades maybe. Otherwise great!
This just shows us how short life is....😢
It really saddens me, that we're losing parts of our countries history. By tearing down monuments. Because some people are offended by these starues, but their group is failing on every level.
Blacks are citizens now. They vote.
