Hola muy buen video, tengo una consulta, por lo que vi en varios videos, en el codigo tenemos que poner el numero de telefono al que queremos recibir el SMS. Pero por ejemplo yo necesito mandarle un mensaje al SIM800L preguntandole si esta la luz prendida y que me responda SI/NO, pero yo quiero que lo puedan usar todos los integrantes o cualquier invitado, (no se si me explico) ¿no hay forma, por ejemplo de mandarle un mensaje al SIM800L, que guarde el numero de telefono desde el que recibio la pregunta y responda a ese numero ? luego si viene otra persona con otro numero de telefono distinto, manda un mensaje al SIM800L que guarde el numero y le responda a ese mismo y asi??

How about the issue with peak current usage? since it can be connected to the arduino, how will it handle currents up to 2A?
It can't handle up to 2A. but sometimes it just work under 2A.

With out serial monitor this project is not worked. When I send 's' from mobile to 800l then 800l send sms to my mobile as reply. With out serial monitor connected.
hi sir hope ur doing great im right having a problem ,the module keep blinking and cant connect to the my sim card even if im using the xl4005 DC-DC connecting to my sim800L v2.0 module , i guess that the problem is in the network registration processus ,can you give the specific and successive AT commands that shoud i use in order so i can connect my sim card to the module ?

I am using esp8266, the network does not register, maybe you also need to connect a capacitor to increase current. That error is due to the network not registered, thus sim is not detected

hello. i am from norway and i am doing a project that uses sim800L. i have a telia sim card which wtill has 2G network and still my sim800l V2 is not finding network. i get no blinking not even without sim card inserted. the network light is just off all the time. can you help me?
try watching this video, it has step by step troubleshooting for sim800l. Even it uses the sim800l v1. It almost the same.

Hi, I actually wanted to ask that I'm using sim800l with Arduino uno to send SMS and make call simultaneously one after another but the problem is that after connecting to network call function is working really fine but SMS are not sent somehow,.... My sim800 doesn't found the network. When I put the voltage D2 is on.after D6 is flashing 1 second every second and D2 is on 7 seconds and off 2 seconds.RIO and R7 always off

Can I use SIM 800L as the module in a way that can send SMS of the GPS location once the button (SOS) is pressed? Do note that I have used Neo 6M module for GPS tracking... So is it possible to automatically send an SMS alert to predefined mobile number??

Hi, great video! Does the module turns on automatically when you apply power? In the datasheet is states that the module has a power key pin that must be held low for at least 1 second for power on/off. Thanks!
yes, but the power supply is critical.it uses 5v with peak of 2 amps at very high frequency transients. Put a more than 470uF capacitor with power supply. LM2596 with capacitors work well.
If power supply is inadequate, it will keep resetting itself and never managing to register to network.

Can I use LM2596 buck convert to provide 5v 3a to this module?
I'm going to make my project portable so I need to use 18650 battery instead of adapter.
Single 18650 should be boosted since the voltage around 3.7V. use boost converter like XL6009. LM2596 used to stepdown the voltage. Did you use some 18650 in series?
Or you can use the red SIM800L (v1). It can be powered with voltage around 4V.

fixed 3a which I made by myself by watching youtube tutorial. I don't know why network never established. I guess my micro-sim card is not properly seated in the module's lid. So I'm looking for new GSM module.

Yes, you need GPS module. This module doesn't include GPS

Sms800L doesn't work, is only for 2G, and in my country is not longer available

Hi, what is the purpose of pin VDD and RST?
vdd, according to some outputs 2.8 v when network is registered.RST resets the module boot up sequence and resets it.

Can the GSM be fed from the Arduino or should it be an external power source?
It has 5V pinout. So it should works with 5V input. Unless the current is not sufficient.
@@miliohm But arduino does not output a current of 2A which is required by the GSM module. How then can it work? I have tried powering the GSM with arduino and did not get any blink from the GSM LED

Works for 4G SIM in my country. But it's only available for GPRS/EDGE

@@alexandruistrate3097 GPRS/EDGE is slow internet connection. If you need fast Internet you can use 4G SIM module. But if you just need phone/SMS this should works.

Enggak bisa mas, emang programnya merintah lewat serial. Kalau tanpa serial bisa dirubah dikit programnya. Tergantung mau kapan ngirim SMS atau nelpon. Dan apa triggernya

@@rolandberendonck3900 you can use that as long as the voltage is 5V. If it's under 5V you need a step up module
