I don't quite know why, but when I watch you or Warwick Schiller, I get insights into how to help my son. He has some executive function issues and a severe learning disabilities. There was some severe trauma for him at the public school which we are all still managing? dealing? with. When I see you walking with the horse, I finally really understand what the doctor was saying about living in the present and not thinking about the previous trauma. My feet and my son's feet need to be here, in the present, not in the past, in fear and anger. I know you are helping the horse, but you helped me too. Thank you.
What a wonderful thing to see. You sure deserve to be very proud of yourself for that one. To get so far in one session. Wow! You had to be exhausted 😅. Love watching these videos. Don’t know how I missed this one.
I just shared this with the director of the horse rescue I belong to. Probably the most beautiful example of gaining trust I’ve ever seen. And best of all is how experienced her owner is. Can’t wait to see their progress together!
Brought tears to my eyes repeatedly as i watched this mare progress. I am 81 and used to ride competitively, your wonderful compassion for the horses you encounter and watching you gives me pure joy and comfort…thank you for sharing with the world..🥰🥰 my dream is to ride once more before I am off to meet the Lord.
So amazing that in that space of time she was able to realize that you were not there to harm her in any way. She was looking for a leader so she could just begin to relax. How wonderful for her and well done you!!!!
Don't have a horse, have never had a horse, will never have a horse but I'm addicted to your channel !!! To see how you help these beautiful creatures to trust again or overcome their fears and traumas does my heart good. You are amazing. Thanks for sharing and good luck in all you do. Love and best wishes from Wales 💟
The respect and gentleness you show with the horses, the patience, just heals my heart a bit more every time I see it. I cannot thank you enough for these videos and for the love and kindness you show these horses.
You can nearly feel this mare's relief---she's like "Finally. Someone who can Speak Horse." Steve opens a gateway through which understanding can take place. It makes me cry it's so beautiful. I only truly made a connection with one small horse in my life, from about ages 13-15...but it's stayed with me my entire life. How I wish I could go back in time and hug him one more time---and thank him for all that we shared.
Great to see the mare thinking about resting a hoof while you were still convincing her that accepting the halter would be okay. That seemed to be when she actually decided that she had someone that she didn't need to fear. Getting the rope back after she exploded into the pasture was just plain amazing. Once horses have given you their trust they can be so forgiving when something goes wrong. It must be that 'herd thing'! I was taught a lot about working with horses this way when I was a nine year old girl who wanted to work with the polo ponies in a stable on the south west coast of Canada run by an old groom who had grown up in racing stables in the southern USA. I turned up at the stable door one morning and asked the groom if I could help out. For some reason he said "yes" and gave me one task after another and watched to see what I did and how the horses reacted to me. In other words, he trained me pretty much the way you trained this mare. I was an "only kid" in a family that didn't know much about children but I knew that my mother had her own riding horse when she was little. The day that I was accepted into the life of this stable, I knew right away that horses would play an important part in the rest of my life. That was about 70 years ago and had to be one of the most exciting days in my life. I'd love to see a video where you talk a little about how you learned to understand and work with horses.
I appreciate the documentation of "what really happened," step by step. So much more educational, and so much more honest than editing out the times when things do not go to plan. Kudos.
What a lovely little horse. 💖 I loved the end where Georgie was rubbing her and she was loving it. Great video and great explanation of what you are doing and why. Luv your videos and horsemanship. Thankyou
I Caralyn ; as well am 63 and I have been a Priscilla Pops all my life( eat sleep and mostly dreamed horses) but never owned a magnificent creature, I too adore watching “Steve Young horseman “ wishing I too was a young girl so I would be able to accompany one majestic creature . Love love love watching and learning 😊❣️🥰❣️
I just turned 66 and am retiring within the year. I fully intend to have my life long dream of having a horse to enjoy when I leave the office behind. You’re never too old, stop putting limits on yourself. 😉☺️❤️
You are the official horse "whisperer". I cried at the end. How must she feel inside knowing that life is going to be ok now. She doesn't have to be afraid anymore. Her heart is mended. Thanks for all the patience you have put into the horses so they have a better life. You're the best!!!!!
Incredible. I shed a few tears at the end when Georgie was playing with her. You are one calm and stable influence to troubled horses. I love all animals but horses have a special place in my heart. Thank you for everything you are doing for them.
I think this one the one you did on the old mayor that nobody touch for 20 odd years are the most touching never watched anything that was so wonderful I was in tears amazing how you got that horse so gentle insecure keep up what you're doing it is amazing
So Amazing - you can see the years of experience when he senses what the horse is thinking and how it's reacting. Not many can do what you do. Bless you for giving these animals a new life!
Three steps forward, two steps back, what a patience you've got. I just found these this weekend and find them so very interesting and a joy to watch. Thank you for uploading. And for making horses and owners pleased with each other!
Totally impressed with the practical application of non verbal communication. I have worked with over 40 species of ungulate, and i must say that these techniques could be applied to captive Gazelle and Antelope and cattle species. Forget " Join Up" this man has such a solid grasp of ungulate behavior, that he could work with any ungulate successfully. love your approach. No ego just knowledge!!
Wow I have been brought to tears by this one. All I keep thinking is now Betty can have many years of love from Georgia. Thank you for giving Betty the rest of her life. Take care, stay safe and hugs to you sir.
Wow poetry in motion this was 😍 She was right to purchase the horse because it is a beautiful mover & she was right to get you in. All the puzzle 🧩 pieces came together 👏👏
I really enjoyed this. The interplay between you and the horse shows great intelligence for you and for the horse. Overcoming fear is huge! It's just magical how the attention of the horse is captivated by your movements. Every move is another word in the horse's language and you have learned them over the years to know the tone of the movement is like the tone of a human voice to another human. When the horse overcomes its fear it can begin to respond to the human and true communication begins. The horse learns it's ok to enjoy the human touch and this enjoyment is then felt by the human which the horse also feels. Horses are not people and it is a mistake the treat them like adult humans. In most cases, the mind of a horse is the mind of a child. Fear & frustration are there because of the unknown nature of growing up. It takes time to build communication and there is always a little dependence between the horse and the human being. Horses are like a child responding to a parent. Unless the human is willing to create a dependent bond I don't think people should create a strong attachment because it can lead to a lot of trauma if the horse is sold. It's like a child losing its parent. The horse must understand they are free to accept and reject the affections of their human at different times. Humans administer medicine and healthcare which are scary for a horse so it's best to build trust and respect in the horse to human relationship. Steve your love of this horse shines through but the horse enjoys being part of your direction as part of his herd respect. Herd mentality is also in people but every individual is different. It's the same for horses but stronger. We just have to know how horse communication is highly developed around herd dependence and try to keep our care of horses in tune with their need for social interaction. Keep up the great work. Your videos teach priceless life lessons. Keep it up.
As I have said before, this man is an Angel. Patience, kindness, respect is all needed. All living things have feelings. We as humans need to realize that and the world will be a better place.
I absolutely loved this video. To see that poor scared horse have such a transformation. I loved the end video when Georgie was rubbing her chin and that lower lip was so relaxed! My eyes got a little misty to see that bond that you were able to help create.
What an amazing video. How wonderful to have broken through that fear. Steve, I hope that you see all the positive reviews you have on all your videos. Thanks to the owners also for caring enough to ask Steve along.
Incredible knowledge and "Feel" that you have with troubled horses. Truly stunning to watch. I just LOVE to watch your ability in action. Blessings to you and Tonya!
Wow just wow! I have ducks but no horses! But you are absolutely amazing! What a gift you have to be able to mind meld with these beautiful beings! I am thoroughly enjoying watching these videos! Please keep making them!
So so happy for these girls Steve and Tanya 💝💝 It brought me to tears seeing Georgie patting her lovely girl for the first time. Absolutely delighted to share this video for you! Love from Australia ❤
I am just too old for this. I need to sleep, but have just spent the night watching 3 of your videos, I didn't remember to comment, but am doing so now. I love these, and am amazed at every one. The last video was the mare in the trailer, that learned to go out through the front. i did that exact same thing to my ankle. My foot swelled up so fast, I was sure it was broken. The boot had to be cut off, but it was a severe sprain. twenty five years later, I can feel the pain....You are just an amazing trainer. There are some beautiful horses there, I mean stunning. We have nice horses here in the US, but I love the cob. If I had my way I would be at my step mom's training here horses, but she is probably worried I will get killed, have a heart attack or something. Now that I am nearly 70. I could still do it, maybe. She has appaloosa, Foundation stock. They are calm and easy horses naturally. Sensible like this mare is in the video. 8 am All of the videos listed on the side of youtube for me to look at, I have seen, thank goodness...haha, now I can get a few hours of sleep. I did start to watch the one Horse dream has become a nightmare, and luckily had seen it. Not only do these techniques work with horses, they would work with dogs but I think will help people with teens that are out of control. You show how being calm, decisive, push and pull works and I think people benefit from this just daily. I find myself being a bit different with my rat terriers. Keep up the excellent work, both of you. Lovely house as well, saw it in a Christmas Eve video. God Bless you and all you help.
Outstanding work, Steve. How satisfying a video is this. Gentleness and persistence wins hugely here. This horse can now come in from the cold…bless you. 💜🙏
She was through so much with people with heavy hands! You REALLY puzzled her! You didn't make a sound, very slow, and NO pressure. When you just kept walking around her. She kept looking at you like she was trying to figure you out, She NEVER met anyone like you before. I could feel her fear but also I could feel she was lonely. She wanted to be touched but her fear was greater. She was afraid of that stick, she probably thought "Here we go! I thought he was different!" Ah but you didn't hit her. You "touched" her. Ah this feels GOOD that surprised her. She didn't know WHAT to make of that! This guy IS different! She went around a little, but she couldn't escape what she loved, wanted & craved
First time watching your videos today. My spirit is so peaceful within me as I saw you tenderly and patiently work with this lovely horse. Thanks for sharing.
This was so fascinating to watch. With your wisdom & compassion, it's like she was reprogrammed. You provided a new mental & emotional pattern for that beautiful horse to live in. You literally changer her life.
Even though I watched this particular video a long while ago I keep coming back to this one. It is calming & shows me that patience is essential. I love it.
Hi Steve thanks a Lot for your wonderful videos and your Information. I learned a lot. Thanks to the owners of all these horses, who wants to get help. Hugs and greetings for all of you from Hella in Germany..
Wonderful video I felt so emotional watching this. You have made that horses life so amazing now. I couldn’t believe how troubled she was and how much you have done for her. You have every right to be proud of yourself. 😀 I really enjoyed every minute and so happy with end result. My tears weren’t far away. AMAZING thank you. 😀💕
Just discovered your channel recently. Have been pouring over your videos. This one had me mesmerized. I think I was holding my breath half a dozen times through this. It was amazing, clearly years of experience at work here. I was silently cheering as you made progress like I was there in the yard with you. I could honestly feel when that horse wanted to connect with you; it was beautiful. I was partners on a horse farm for a number of years. I miss it so much and watching you at work is bittersweet but I wouldn't turn away from your channel for anything. You sir, are the real thing, nothing pretentious about you and the miracles and second chances you manage for horses and desperate owners.
absolutely amazing! great job! good lesson soft and slow and steady!! recatching her is All about the connection you got with here;) THIS WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!! THATS HOW ITS DONE!
Absolutely HEART WARMING!! It bought a tear to my eye... I think this sweet, beautiful mare and lovely girl are destined to have a wonderful future together. Nice one Steve!
How sad that you can say, "I've been on ranches in the US. I could get a halter on that horse." I am thankful to trainers like Monty Robert's who can represent those of us in the US who are enlightened. Your videos are especially wonderful, because you show how to approach a horse mentally in the situation where you find them.
I’ve been riding and showing for many years and also been involved in a little bit of training and I have never NEVER understood the process the way I do now after watching you. I cannot thank you enough for this. You have taken the time and made the effort to make life so much better for horses that are not understood to this level. Horses are wonderful at forgiving us and also for making the best of less than ideal situations. They tend to be able to muddle through the whole partnership with humans thing and come out the other end in ok shape but this will take armchair horse enthusiasts to a whole new level of understanding and functioning. By far you peel back the layers of the glitch and fancy terms that North American horse trainers tend to baffle us with. My coach used to say to me that if a horse can feel a fly on it’s body and direct a muscle twitch to dispatch the annoying bug then you can imagine the sensitivity and nuisance that the huge beast is capable of. We must seem so dull and weird to them.
Plus, wr are training them in English or whatever native language... yet they speak horse! I've never understood why many humans have such little patience with horses. Humans need to understand how hard horses work to try to understand & learn human commands - verbal, leg aids, rein communication, etc. They are amazingly smart animals.
Amazing! You radiate calm, assertive, confident and loving energy. That beautiful little horse knew from the beginning you were going to help. She fell into your arms so easily with alot less freaking out than I would have thought. She NEEDED you and you were her rescuer. The video of Georgie with her speaks of a lovely happy future. Again, amazing. 🥰
Laid up in bed after an operation and what a gift to have the time to watch EVERY SINGLE video here. I would love to have a running commentary of what is going on in your mind. You have such a instinct - that you have worked for I know, People like you and your beautiful family make the world a better place xxx
Thankyou for helping that beautiful soul. Thankyou for these videos and the love and understanding you show. You teach all of us to be more careful when dealing with each other creature. Love to you and your dear wife
Wow I must admit your good. That horse was terrified. You Turned her completely around… That’s not a easy job! She’s gone from terrified, to trusting humans. Brilliant Steve and Tanya🥰 Long videos? Not long enough!!!! Love them!🥰🥰🥰
A looong video Steve - but worth every moment! You saved this gorgeous girl from a lifetime of terror, abuse or even worse. So many people want to rush their horse through every lesson, but totally fail to actually listen to their horse. Hopefully, more and more owners & trainers will start taking the time to try to understand what your horse is telling you it needs - and to meet your horse where it is mentally & emotionally. By taking the extra time to slow each lesson down, you'll end up with a centered, sane & true partner. One of your best videos Steve. Kudos!!! 👏👏👏 ♥️🐴
Your videos are mesmerizing. I like horses but I'm not a horsey person however you make me interested in them and I get so absorbed in watching you with them, fascinating and therapeutic, I end up more relaxed then the horse 🤣 Lots of thanks for caring so much for these beautiful souls.
Steve, it moves me to tears how you are saving these beautiful, intelligent animals. I believe animals are one of God's gifts to the human race to help US heal from this dark, battered world. I don't have a horse, but I hope someday I will. Thank you again for all you do.
This horse is so beautiful. So sad she had a bad start. You have most likely saved her life. It’s still a long road ahead, but she’s got a chance now! 🥰🙏💚
I've just found your channel today sir and I've been watching your videos for hours and hours now. You're brilliant with these horses! I'm loving every bit of this channel so of course I am subscribing! The end of this video, seeing the clip that the owner sent you with her horse, made my eyes tear up! Tears of happiness, of course. Wonderful work you do sir!💜👍
Not a horse owner and at my age, not likely to be..but I come from stock that DID deal in horses in the early 1900’s. I’ve always appreciated the magnificence of the animal..and to watch your methods ..it fascinates me! It’s like you get inside the horses head. This one is a beauty..well done!
Every horse is different. What may work for one, may not work for another. You may have to dig deep into the tool box to find out what works. Stay Safe Everyone!! 💖 From Ontario, Canada, Jenn. 💖 💖 🇨🇦 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
Wonderful video, beautiful horse, I have never written that love horses. If only every human being had the same gentleness and foresight what a wonderful world we would live in God bless. x
Awesome videos! Just found you today. I've been binge watching all day. . I was brought up the cowboy way. Love the tenderness and the small things that really matter. I've had horse 40 years and learning something new every day. Thank you! Really enjoy the thoughtfulness for every horse you worked with!!!
Steve just found you about a week ago, you have a heart of gold and the patience of jobe! Not to mention your adorable sense of humor! If you ever come to California we wold love to have you come to the KR Ranch in Martinez. We could all learn a lot from you! We will put you up, feed you and take you out to our local breweries and wineries! 😃 hope you will take us up on it! Cheers! Michele
@JOE, I'M VISUALLY IMPAIRED. HOPE IT'S NOT YOUR CASE BUF IF IT IS...I CAN RELATE TO IT. FIRST TIME CHECKING OUT THIS CHANNEL. I'VE ALREADY CHECKED OTHER 2 CHANNELS WITH THIS TOPIC BUT NEED TO TRY TO FIGURE OUT HOW IT'S TAUGHT IN ENGLISH. PEACE FROM ARGENTINA

Fabulous... love that you have related this to your son. Incredible insight by you. All the best moving forward. x
Amy, maybe there's a horse therapy place near you that helps people with disabilities
The principles are the same, yes. You might try Ross Jacob's UTube channel also, his thinking is similar.
@@tammymillerjtb GREAT IDEA ! 👍
These owners eere all about listening and learning. Very good on them!
What I find most amazing is how quickly the horse realizes she has nothing to fear! Steve has a remarkable talent!!!
What a wonderful thing to see. You sure deserve to be very proud of yourself for that one. To get so far in one session. Wow! You had to be exhausted 😅. Love watching these videos. Don’t know how I missed this one.

Picture is blurry and wind sounds loud but still is amazing to watch how he works the horse!
That is a very smart horse. It took her what 30 seconds to ‘get it’. Keep your eyes on me or move your feet.
What a wonderful video! I can't stop thinking about how you have transformed things for this lovely mare. Well done, you!!
Brought tears to my eyes repeatedly as i watched this mare progress. So kind so peaceful. Horse wants to be with you. She's experienced enuf terror in her life before meeting you and her wonderful new forever family.
The right family and the right horse found each other
Bloody brilliant for the horse and you ...
Pretty little mare and much kinder than most people! Great job, Steve and company!
A sock on the recording device would help cut the wind noise, which was distracting...but GREAT VIDEO and thanks for sharing.
So amazing that in that space of time she was able to realize that you were not there to harm her in any way. She was looking for a leader so she could just begin to relax. How wonderful for her and well done you!!!!

Brilliant! You bring them out of a dark and lonely place. Now they can begin their journey together in a lovely light.
I'm not a "horsey" person (wished I could be in my teenage years, now 67 !) but I find your work absolutely riveting.

Am I the only one that thinks that this little mare is absolutely beautiful? Steve works his wonders on her, as per usual.
Incredible. I shed a few tears at the end when Georgie was playing with her. You are one calm and stable influence to troubled horses. I love all animals but horses have a special place in my heart. Thank you for everything you are doing for them.

This video made me cry. This mare’s life is so much better.
What a beautiful horse. She’s lucky to have Steve help her gain trust in humans.Great job, Steve, as always!
Dude!!! You just proved you don’t need ANY fancy “equipment” to move a horse!!!! Amazing!
Incredible. Your knowledge saves many people and horses for a better world. If everyone were like you, there would be no war. Only love.

There's a recent video of him training a dog to walk loose leash. So this translates to other animal types too.
Wow I have been brought to tears by this one. All I keep thinking is now Betty can have many years of love from Georgia.
Thank you for giving Betty the rest of her life.

You two might have saved this horses life. Thank God for you two and patient owners. Incredible work, effort and time spent. Thank you for sharing.
🐴👍
She was through so much with people with heavy hands! You REALLY puzzled her! You didn't make a sound, very slow, and NO pressure. When you just kept walking around her. She kept looking at you like she was trying to figure you out,
She NEVER met anyone like you before.
She
went around a little, but she couldn't escape what she loved, wanted & craved
The relief that horse is feeling now, not having to be scared all of the time. Beautiful beautiful xx
First time watching your videos today. My spirit is so peaceful within me as I saw you tenderly and patiently work with this lovely horse. Thanks for sharing.
Especially if you have a down day, these videos really are uplifting!
Just can’t get over how gorgeous that horse is!
So happy you calmed her fears
This was so fascinating to watch. With your wisdom & compassion, it's like she was reprogrammed. You provided a new mental & emotional pattern for that beautiful horse to live in. You literally changer her life.
Just love these videos. Your training is so kind. I am even using some of your training with my dogs! It works for dogs with them too!
Hugs and greetings for all of you from Hella in Germany..
same you could not edit the radio out.

Remarkable! A new lease on life for the mare and owner.
God has Blessed you with a special gift. You’re an amazing man to help horses with such patience. God Bless you and your family!!

How sad that you can say, "I've been on ranches in the US. I could get a halter on that horse." I am thankful to trainers like Monty Robert's who can represent those of us in the US who are enlightened. Your videos are especially wonderful, because you show how to approach a horse mentally in the situation where you find them.
Yeah I caught that too. That is definitely not the only way of thought here thank god.
Yes that is true
Years ago I was taught a little of this method. It's great to see it again in practice.
Awesome, love the relationship you have with Tanya. 🥰 Wonderful team work. Beautiful horse with a whole new view on life❤
You've Got it that magic touch with horses 🐎 you make them feel safe that's was blinking marvellous 🐎❤🐎❤🐎❤🐎❤🐎
I’ve recently started following you and you’ve re ignited my passion for horses.
This video makes me cry. Wonderful ❤️
Laid up in bed after an operation and what a gift to have the time to watch EVERY SINGLE video here. I would love to have a running commentary of what is going on in your mind. You have such a instinct - that you have worked for I know, People like you and your beautiful family make the world a better place xxx
Absolutely awesome!!! Thanks for your love and care of lost horses!!! Way to go Georgie for doing a great follow up!!! ❤️🐴❤️🐎
Thankyou for helping that beautiful soul. Thankyou for these videos and the love and understanding you show. You teach all of us to be more careful when dealing with each other creature. Love to you and your dear wife
Wow
I must admit your good.
That horse was terrified.
You Turned her completely around…
That’s not a easy job!
She’s gone from terrified, to trusting humans.
Brilliant Steve and Tanya🥰
Long videos?
Kudos!!! 👏👏👏 ♥️🐴
Good job Steve. Great work, you saved another horse.
PLEASE DO UR RESEARCH ON " HOW BIG IS A HORSES BRAIN " ?

I've just found your channel today sir and I've been watching your videos for hours and hours now. You're brilliant with these horses! I'm loving every bit of this channel so of course I am subscribing! The end of this video, seeing the clip that the owner sent you with her horse, made my eyes tear up! Tears of happiness, of course. Wonderful work you do sir!💜👍
EXCELLENT! Great job! Beautiful horse too!
What a really beautiful horse
