As a Filipino I've come to understand this song differently. During WWII tons of families, Filipino and non-Filipino alike, fled from the lowlands and hid from the invading Japanese wherever they could. I reflected on the lyrics today and it turns out they could be understood like this lol
Despite the song's comic appeal, it seems rather natural to interpret it in the context of mass expulsion and genocide... Brings "Dachau Blues" back to mind, right?
@@bigsatanloaf He sounds so confused lmao. I'm always impressed when an artist can sneak in some goofy shit without compromising the overall quality of the song
@@georgefifth846 I hope not! It’s probably one of the most exciting tracks on the album and very funny as well, just a shame the mixing is so screwed up.
In terms of rehearsing, amateur musicians would probably be the best way to go. They usually don’t listen to other voices while playing so they won’t get distracted by the polyrhythms going on
Hobo chang bas instrumental is so great! They lock in to a jam right as he sings the ocean is my mother, freight train is my paw. That moment is what made the song click for me. This one was the hardest to click for me@@willbox8802
Squidward would have excelled on this one
My favorite song on the album. Something about the image of running off with your spouse to live with animals is appealing to me.
Yeah I was raised in the country my brother ✝️ in law like to leave
La my sister take me too
I wish it was as literal as it seems, but there's probably a darker meaning behind this song...
this man is probably some deranged lunatic fucknut kind of a guy unfortunately :d
I mean, the character Captain created that wants to go to the wild life
@@tyburvandeezo8218 Don't really think so. I think it's more like just spontaneous dada stuff.

@@htsgm well. I ended up eating four, but I cooked one at a time until I was full to avoid waste.
@@听不懂了 why though
The call and response part with the saxophone is hilarious. Unironically great song though.
My thoughts exactly.
Thats a clarinet
0:48 for some reason his inflection on "before they take my LIFE!" makes me laugh every time
for me it's the way he sorta asks "before they take my WIFE?" at 2:07

Find me a cave and talk to bears, get 'em to take me in
My favorite line for many years. :)
This shit bumps in the whip
ay man, getmm.
The homies handed me the aux, i played this and they threw me out of the car onto the busy freeway
This album is a gift that keeps on giving
Wild life is a man's best friend .

The Glow Pt. 2 in a nutshell
lol
Zoot horn Rollo is brilliant on this track!
The Wings version sounds a little different
This and "Sweet Sweet Bulbs".
this song is so wild, and there is: wild life
my second favorite, just behind neon meate dream!
WILD LIFE
🤘🏿😎🎸👹😊🖤
Wild life along with my wife. I'm going up on the mountain for the rest of my life, before they take my wild life, before they take my wife???
At least for right now, this is my favorite song on the record. That might change, but that's how
it is.
it changed, but still love it!
We'll meet again, we'll part once more.
The guitarists must have threw everything they knew about music theory and structure and time signature's to follow the captains strange musical mind
More like integrated every inch of musical prowess
the notation for this shit is wild
Yes.
Let it float
Genius
🔥🔥🔥👌
1:59 - 2:12 *----*
Kinda love that riff
Did Tiny Tim do a cover of this?

Lukas these guys were far from amateur though
Yes these were very talented and well trained musicians
Only song in the album that I don't outright adore.
if only it was mixed properly.....

I struggle with Well, and Hobo Chang Ba also.
