4012 doesn't actually use any of those ingredients except the water of course. It is 15% 2-Butoxyethanol 0.1% Ethylene Glycol and the rest distilled water. All of those ingredient are available on amazon, The difference is the ethanol is a pseudo solvent that prevents the acrylic from binding

Not only does alcohol prevent acrylics from binding, it's the number one reason for tip drying.

Actually i'm sorry. I just looked up the wrong windex for the ingredients. The clear has the same stuff as the 4012 reducer. It just has a different ratio.

Zombie Meat technically your mix is almost identical to 4011 reducer.

Question to be clear, reducer as in thinner? Any paints excluded from using with it(acrylic only?).
I'm trying to understand why some use this and then a mix without glycerin as a cleaner, idky it's confused me

Looks pretty good.................Distilled water is a total RUclips myth, just use tap water.

ive heard you shouldn't use vinegar in air brush from windex? I use distilled water, alcohol, glycerin for thinner but find it does thin could for cheap craft acrylics?? can you help?

I haven't had an issue using the clear windex, I have a feeling there's not actually vinegar in that brand.

your right vinegar can react with the metal coating on certain airbrushes and cause a lot of problems. Ammonia is another no no. IF you are having trouble thinning cheap craft acrylics add a little matte medium to your thinner mix.

@@kamikaiguy what do you use for thinner in airbrush?

@@43rocket I make my own thinner. I use 10-15% Matte Medium, 25% 99%Isopropyl alcohol. Like 1-3% glycerin. the rest distilled water. Like anything you need to experiment with the ratios. I have thinned 1 drop paint to 25 drops thinner before with this mix to create a filter effect. It works really great.

Hey, the reducer I made in this video I use as Createx's 4012 reducer. I primarily use createx paints and so far this DIY reducer has worked just as good. Thanks for your comment and I hope this helps you out
