I don't think a true expert would have pinched his saw as many times as I did on this tree, but that 2038R & grapple saved me several times! I will remember this project for a long time and appreciate the opportunity to play with your machines, the big load of oak firewood and the hospitality of Tim & Christy. This is a fantastic video, all bias aside 😁 Great job and thanks for the fun!
Great job, Neil! When I suggested you should drive down to do this with Tim and Christy, I was half kidding. So awesome to see the two of you work together. This is the year I will get a grapple (fingers crossed) I can't wait to see what you'll do with yours.
@@curtwhite876 It was all I could to contain myself Curt! We've been planning this project since early February but the weather didn't cooperate. I didn't want to jinx it from actually happening! Thanks for the great suggestion! I want a grapple now too.
Pinching the saw the few times that you did with all that Cris-crossed, under tension wood is amazing in my eyes ! You are an expert Sir and thanks for showing us, much appreciated ! Thumbs up.
Surprised this channel doesn't have more subscribers, quality content and collaborations. Perfect for showing off the capabilities of compact tractors.
This video is one of the best I've seen showing how a tractor with grapple can be utilized in tree cutting and processing. The way Two or more people can work together with this setup is impressive!
Orange 🍊 a no show again!!!😈😈😈 I am impressed with the grapple setups and tractors lifting capacities. I am impressed with Neil and Brian cutting up the tree.
Didn’t have the 3rd function or filled rear tires yet. We now have the tires filled and appropriate 3 pt ballast on the way. Just have to get 3rd function installed. Almost there!!! ...or if you are a college basketball fan, I could say it had to redshirt its first year to bulk up and develop its skills :-)
that tree was huge!! Incredible job! thank you for sharing this. It is so helpful for learning when you show the little mistakes, or nearing the limits of the machines. Amazing job.
AWESOME VIDEO!! It’s always nice to watch other guys work. Lol. I don’t why but that grapple just continues to AMAZE me!! The size of the loads it can take on the smaller tractors is just something you wouldn’t think possible. ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!
I use my grapple all the tine. My benefit is I can pick up a log a lot bigger but still max out every so often when cutting. Then again 91 HP bigger tractor helps
Great video Tim. It was nice for you to have the luxury of help doing such a big tree. I didn't have that luxury much while cutting wood, just takes longer and use more caution. That grapple tractor is worth its weight in gold , worked much better than I thought it would. My old B7800 used to lift those big oak logs 15 years ago but the age and abuse I feel has weakened the hydraulic pump, it - like me- doesn't want to grunt those big ones any more. Keep the great videos coming.
Hey Tim! Just wanted to share that I loved this video...reminded me a lot of your old “tractor for hire” vids where you really showed off the capabilities of the tractor. I know your channel has evolved a bit, but those originals were really what made sold me on the 1025r. Or I just really like watching grapple videos. FWIW, you are the sole and direct reason I bought an Artillian and looking forward to using it when the weather levels out. Thank you as always! PS you have some of the best sweatshirts I’ve bought. My wife loves how soft they are!
I love to start my morning to see what you have for me to watch on your channel? WOW my goodness 😳what a big tree 🌳 I'm so amazed to learn so much from your comments about what you use and and the amazed of people you know that help you with so some of your big projects? O my ya'll got it cut up wow 👏 great job wonderful job! Thank you so much for sharing. Take care and stay safe 🙏🤗

WOW What a massive Tree The Right Tools and the Right People and You got it done safely I do not think My L-2501 would have performed anywhere near as well as You did with the JD's
Another great job. The big chain saw, couple of tractors and people that know to work together to accomplish a big project is always fun to see. Christy with the drone shots and editing skills makes it even better. And next we might even get to see some backhoe action......
Well did you end up with any fire wood? I do love Beach and I think Neal's house is on the way to mine 😊 . That big old Oak will be missed as you wont see a tree that big very often. Great video, fun to watch all the people, tractors and saws.
Hi Tim, I've seen other videos of yours using the battery operated chain saws and this one is very informative since there is a big tree. I'm thinking about getting one but for smaller projects.
Great work on the huge tree. Quite a puzzle on how to take it down safely. I watch Neil's channel also. Thanks for giving him a shout out, Tim. He does an amazing editing job on his interesting videos, just as Christy does on her editing. Thanks all.
I’ll repeat what I said on Neil’s channel. I love collaborative YT videos especially when the 2 YT contributors are 2 I follow regularly. Thanks for a special treat!
Good morning, I have a 60 volt dewalt chainsaw .I use it a lot to trim branches when the tree is down, and the gas chainsaw for the big pieces.Thank you for sharing.Have god weekend
when the limb is only supported at one end, you may not need an undercut... but if you do use one, do the undercut first for less than half the diameter of the limb, and the log won't pinch the saw when you complete the cut from the top... and you will avoid stripping bark up the limb (or down as the case may be)... However, If the log is supported at both ends, do the top cut first just for a bit (about a third of the diameter or less) and then complete the cut from underneath... since the log will drop in the middle because of its weight (and gravity)... Of course when you are "blowing and going... you often place the saw for a cut where it seems convenient without thinking... and then you get the "bind"... Big tree... enjoyed the video!
Good advice and I fully agree. I had about 95% of my cuts turn out about right. Then I had some that were as you say "blowing and going". Sure am glad that loader and grapple was around as it let me get away with a few pinchers!
I thought this might have been a green and orange project, but it was good to see what both of your green tractors could do on this type of job. I really like the double grapple by Artillian. It looks like you have sent a new customer their way! Lol I am going to be interested in seeing when you have your new Kubota joined the team on some of the projects. It looks to me like some other work is going to be done there in the woods so I am thinking we will see the orange tractor out there as well. Great job by both RUclips families!
Very good video Tim (and Neil). Good Artillian grapple action. But looking at the size of the oak logs being picked up with the 2038r IMHO I was uncomfortable with the small amount of rear ballast on your 2038. I normally run the same setup on my 1025r and figure it to be about 420 pounds with the quick hitch, heavy hitch and 42# weights; maybe a little more.I don't know if your rear tires are loaded on the 2038r but seeing the right rear tire come up once indicated to me that more ballast was needed. Thanks for posting this video!
Tim if you want to look at a skid steer that won’t tear up your lawn look into the bobcat A300. I don’t believe they have any current production models so you can’t get a sponsored machine, only used.

Great teamwork getting that large tree dissected for the wood stove. It helps to have the tractors to help the process along, good work.👍

Magnificent tree and a winter's worth of fantastic firewood. Throw in a new channel to watch, great video.
Fun video to watch the Surgical cuts on that old tree. Your Grapple is so versatile and a must have.
Gotta love a man with a 36" STIHL saw who knows how to use it too. :)
Like this colab...... Also adding the interview in the cutting and working.... Alot better then other people who add music.

Some good fire wood 🪵!
Great video, loved his opinion on the grapple. Goes to show how useful they can be.
That thing is honestly impressive.
The open space left from the tree trimming should be used to build a nice gazebo!
In a work situation like this, it would be useful to have a horn on the tractor. Just to get the sawyer's attention.
The LAST thing a ground worker wants is the tractor driver honking at him!!!
@@TractorTimewithTim You apparently surprised him a couple of times while he was cutting. I’d rather get a warning. I’m not talking about NYC honking.
