North Island Weka Rotoroa Island

The North Island Weka is a member of the rail family and is endemic to the North island of New Zealand. These Weka were seen on Rotoroa Island, a predator free sanctuary in the Hauraki Gulf. The island can be reached by ferry from downtown Auckland in 75 minutes.
