    Are these steps the same with the model ATS-1090? I’m trying to connect it to my tv with the optical digital audio cable since on the back of my tv does not say ARC, so if my tv does not have those words on the back I’m sure it’s not ARC compatible,? Right? So then I have to use the Optical Digital Audio Cable, so do I still need an HDMI cable with the Optical Cable in order to work?

    Just bought it yesterday for an early Black Friday price of $95.00 bought a really good HDMI cable supports UHD, 4K ,8K supporting the ARC feature and hooked it up to my Samsung Smart TV HDMI ARC on my Samsung itself this Yamaha ATS 1080 by itself sounds Awesome. Connect it the right way.
    Get a nice 4k UHD HDMI Cable. $15-$25

    I just bought a refurbed, Yamie ATS-1080 soundbar. 99 bucks, looks brand new. I just used the included optical cable with my older, 40" Sony Bravia. Works ok.
    Pretty good little soundbar. I had to use 2 books to raise TV too.
    I have a new LG, 55" Smart TV coming Monday. I may try HDMI cable on that tv. But optical cable connection works fine right now.
    I prolly need those 2 books for the LG too. I may wall mount the soundbar above new TV. LG TV will stay on tv stand....wife said, lol. No holes in her newly painted walls.

    Your vid was a big help for me! But try to check the *Settings then go to *Sounds then choose *”Internal TV speaker + Audio Out (Optical). If you have that option you don’t need the HDMI, Optical Digital Audio Cable is all you need... Warning! Don’t bend the ODAC(Optical Digital Audio Cable) ‘coz it won’t work anymore...
    Thanks! 🙏🏻

      The only reason it won’t go through is that maybe you forgot to remove the plastic end cap of the ODAC… Refer to video at 3:20.

    You know what? I had my sound bar for years and just thought it was rubbish. I was curious if there was a better way and watched your video. Not that you have it overly complex either, but I had just the one cable plugged in. Connected the HDMI as well and bang.....great sound. good video. Cheers.

      Glad it helped someone. This was my first ever RUclips video, and it was unnecessarily long. I set it up as I did due to available connections and cords I had on hand. It still works well for me, and I can control it with my TV remote.📺🔊

    Thanks for the video, Sir. Has anyone out in your audience come up with a bracket solution that will allow installation directly to the TV or Existing TV wall mount?? Hopefully something that would include noise vibration isolation?

    • @jarethill5240
      @jarethill5240  8 месяцев назад

      The Yamaha sound bar is wall mountable. It comes with a paper template. It has two "Keyholes" 18 inches apart on the back/bottom of the soundbar. If you mount the 2 screws to studs (usually 18" apart) you can mount the keyholes to the screws. It also comes with two rubber spacers that stick onto the back to prevent it vibrating against the wall. You will need two screws dimensions as follows:
      Head 1/4 - 3/8 inch
      Un-threaded shank 1/2 - 5/8 inch
      threaded shank 3/4 inch or longer.
      You will find a PDF Manual and specific wall mounting instructions at the following link:

      Yes i set my tv audio settings to Doldy Digital+ which only supports HDMI ARC. My tv remote now controls the Sound Bar audio. When you get a subwoofer set it up to the max you want it so when you adjust the subs audio on the remote everything is in sync. Thinking the Polk AUDIO PSW108. Anyone else use this sub with a sound bar ?

    If you use the optical cable, you do not need a HDMI as well. Only optical and power is needed. I’m giving you a break since you said this is your first video, but next time streamline a little better. No dusting! More time just devoted to the sound, which we never got to lol. Good luck and thanks for trying. How does it sound by the way? And have you had other sound bars to base it off of as reference? I’m looking at getting this one, among others. The Polk Signa S2

    Hi, thanks for posting this. Looks like I have the same TV as you, but I'm finding every time I adjust the volume using the Yamaha remote, it turns the TV off momentarily. Did you encounter this problem?

    • @jarethill5240
      @jarethill5240  4 года назад

      I've an Older 65" LG (not ultra 4k). I'm planning a review of the device. I like the Yamaha soundbar so far but I've noticed a few quirks. I set the soundbar up through my TV LG settings pretty easily and control the soundbar with my LG TV remote. I can't seem to control the subwoofer settings through my LG TV remote. So, unless I find a solution to the subwoofer control through the TV remote, I'll have to keep the Yamaha remote handy. One quirk is the Yamaha remote control seems to have some lag between pressing a button and execution of the command. Another quirk is the Yamaha remote does not cause a visible volume level bar/indicator on my TV screen. The LG remote causes a visible volume level on the screen.

      I used just opt cable to my TV. You just have to use the small remote soundbar comes with.
      I think using HDMI you can use TV remote for sound. I just use 2 remotes, no biggie.

    • @jarethill5240
