survived the crypt run just to be burned down during the heldrake trench run with nonstop spawning. sometimes a helbrute joins in the 'fun'. hated the map a lot
Reliquary is by far the worst map, second is Fall of Atreus with the long winded button mashing lorry walk. In fact none of the Chaos missions are really fun, and its not because the enemy per se but rather stupid level design and bad pacing. I once had a teammate push the wrong button 5 TIMES until we were all out of stims, low on health and double ranged terminator spawned to wipe us... We even tried to tell him "Stop pushing any buttons, let us do it". Some times it's just more fun to play with bots. I relly hope Obelisk will be a fun Chaos mission without terrible end event like "stand in a tiny ring for a minute each four times while a deamon host tries to blasts you" or "escort a battery and press the button three times to make it rotate the right way" or "press buttons and shoot a stationary target, repeat 2-3 times". Just compare it to the adrenaline filled end boss of Decapitation or the epic final event of Inferno. Tyranid maps are just so much better.
@@jonnowocky8179 Chaos is a fun enemy, Hellbrutes are intense and awesome to fight. I just think the map design is flawed compared to Tyranid maps and I wish there was more melee enemies, like a type a Rubric Marine with melee weapons and maybe another deamon based type of majoris or extremis melee enemy.
The fact that the servo escort range is so low is the real issue, there will be plenty of time where you need to move around, specially vs chaos that shoot you, so the range of it being basically melee is ruinous and annoying, it should be bigger and being VISIBLE! so you can move in combat while folowing the objetive. Also, on the theme of visibility, the fire of the helldrake not having an indicator in the ground where is safe to stay is really dumb, the effects arent clear and you can step on the wrong place because of poor visual clarity.
The mission should be, Fusion core OR Remains. As in you go to the console and find it has remains ready to be interned but the process fails to work so you need a core. or You approach the console and the read out says " System at full power DNA with sufficient grace required " so you need a piece of a saint. As others say doing both drains drags it out
I wouldn’t mind the servo skull. But it so often has absolutely moronic tracking. It goes in circles on occasion as well. It needs to have sharper tracking and speed. Just so damn slow as well.
Requlariy is that one opperation you need a good team to run or your not gonna finish, the fusion core and the servo skull isnt the worst part in my opinion, its the bridge. Sure the servo skull taking 10 minutes to get its act together is dumb but thats because its RNG based unlike the bridge. Me and 2 other guys were trying to beat it on lethal and the heldrake would do its normal pass and then a 2nd one quickly after at random so If your making a run for it after the first pass then your dead and if you try to hide from it, the chaos marines swarm you and kill you. We did it so many times we all decided once we get to the bridge we just have to run for it since fighting gets us killed 9/10 times. If they wanna improve it then Id make the servo skull check anywhere from 1 - 4 tombs and the heldrake needs to have its damage reduced or have a longer wait time between passes.
The more people complain the more smug I feel for getting the helmet pre-patch with randoms. Still enjoy reliquary even if the skull does slog the pacing in the middle
I feel like we should do one or the other not both. Probably the most time consuming chunk out of all the operations and that includes moving the battery for the sword of Atreus. I’d even take a hand held scanner so we can stagger teammates to quick scan tombs. Anything in the sense of streamlining this chunk would be a nice QOL change.
It’s just too long. There is a lot going on in that mission. I’d have the servo skull know where to go, but have the remains guarded by a Hellbrute plus horde or something. Better to spend time on that than hearing about eternal slumber being the reward of a life well lived. Were space marines - we already KNOW that.
Its like a game that recreates the feeling of being in a war zone dealing with red tape beuarcy to be able to complete the mission would be done in a way that does not feel annoying or tedious... Is bad?? Do you want realism or not??
I simply refuse to ever do reliquary. It is frustrating as hell. Theres no readily apparent way to avoid the fire, the damage windows on the boss are miniscule, and the servoskull is bothersome. I hate everything about that operation.
Once you know it, it is fun. But out of all the missions, this fusion core/servo skull thing is the worst. I think the main reason it frustrates me is, similar to 07, one person isn’t good enough to win. Your team mates can, and occasionally do, get the team wiped. Not fun when that happens at minute 40 and it’s for something you can see unfolding around you, but can’t do anything to prevent it. Like please hide when the visual and cues for fire are given. Just stop fighting and run for cover. Please kill the mobs right next to you before aggravating the dragon, etc…
The Chaos missions really are just not as fun as the bugs. I actually enjoy killing traitors, but the missions themselves are the problem. Here’s hoping the new Obelisk mission is good! 🍻
Reliquary blows. It's by far the worst operation, although my gripe is the bridge even more than the beginning parts. The fire being wildly inconsistent in timing can cause issues since none of the terrain in the middle reliably provides cover the way it should. The termies can missile through the walls. The steps leading up to the shelters and various other bits of litter can stop you dead in your tracks for some unfathomable reason. The sorcs love to spawn where you can't even get to them to stop them from rezzing every rubric in the world. Then there's the fact that all of them love just sitting in the fire and plugging away at you across an address that is notoriously terrible for having ammo drops. The boss fight itself isn't even really engaging. It's player versus buttons and hope you don't get warp flamers mass spawn. The entire mission is basically either tedium of waiting for clear paths or random complete idiocy during those times when you get mass flamers and/or termies added in with the cramped quarters of safety from fire.
This sniper gameplay offends me. Either the player does not have the perk for bonus damage from attacking out of camo and does not have ability reduction for headshot kills, or just not trying at all since it's on Ruthless or easier. I really hope it's the latter.
Doing the Fusion Core or the Servo Skull would be fine, but having to do both sucks.

i hate the damn servo skull taking 10 minutes hanging around

I actually like Vox Libertalis. Fighting both bugs and dust boys
We have fun on all the chaos maps tbh, reliquary is always a stress but plenty of laughs

9:33 Assault, Bulwark, and Tac or Vanguard…with a *Melta*
If you’ve got the Melta, you’ve got no range.

Get behind a pillar and don’t move, that’s bout it

I think the Helldrake flames should kill anything it touches. It does not damage the enemies.

In my opinion, the part where you need to find the fusion core should be removed.
Reliquary is a SLOG in lethal. The mission is fine except for the tombs part.
The one with the train buttons is annoying as hell especially if your teammates don’t help so I never do it.

Its the only one like this imo its fine to have 1 operation people dread like the mission no soldier wants to do but the atartes find a way

Fucking hate this map lmao. But its fine, i wish they wont change Reliquary. All of it's quirks make it unique. 😂
Vox or Decap. I dont bother with any of the other ops
I come here to say yes. I dont need to hear nobody out

wait till the tzangor shamans are here....they really suck
I never play this one at all
