yes most of cdramas are dubbed. sometimes because they don't like the actor's voice and sometimes because they don't have good equipment to record the voice while acting so they need to dub over it

I have read somewhere that some Chinese drama character's voices were being dubbed due to the accent. Like some actors/actresses came from different places other than Shanghai & Beijing, so they have different accents. Not sure if that is true but a possible reason though.
Its true and if you watch alot of dramas you will find that some voices are literally the same dude talking “ψ(｀∇´)ψ
This was a major turn off for me when it comes to watching CDramas. Like, I really want to hear the artists' voice and not the same old dubbing voice! :( Some dubbing works are also pretty bad, like they don't line up with the actors' mouth.
Every single province in China has their own language; they all have their own accents when speaking mandarin. Actors usually are expected to perfect their pronounciations.

@@alwaysad8912 A lot of Chinese drama's have voice actors speaking over the actors lines after production, so most of the time we don't actually hear the actor we see but a voice actor that does the lines over again in the studio. I rarely watch any because the sounds sound to close to my ears (If that makes sense) then regular speaking, plus it doesn't sound/look natural. I get doing it for the drama's based in ancient settings but modern-day ones bother me a bit more.

This is just my opinion and idk how else to express it, so please take it lightly! I find it so difficult to watch Chinese dramas bc the acting is so cringe and just straight up bad. The dubbing isn't great either and the CGI in historical dramas is awful. I want to like Chinese dramas but this always puts me off :( I didn't mean to be rude or offensive here, sorry if it was too harsh!

huhu I really like the plot of most chinese dramas, it's good. But, what stopping me from continuing the drama is their acting I find it lame and sometimes when the girl's role is somewhat like badass and boyish then she got into a fight I feel like it doesn't fit her role because most chinese girls are so thin like they don't really eat. 😶

It's mostly because Chinese is too complicated because of its different tones and it might cause trouble for the Chinese audience to understand it (it's just my opinion)

this is one of the reasons why i can never watch chinese dramas lol. the dubbing is so terrible, i can barely focus on the plot of the drama. no matter how good the actors and plot is, i can never get pass the dubbing.

I’ve watched a a couple of Chinese youtubers talk about the dubbing. They pretty much said that it boils down to time and money.
One person said that they are constantly building half of the set, and shooting on the other half. When they finish with that half of the set they tear it down and start building something else. So there’s always construction, and the noises can be heard in the audio of the film.
Another person said to keep down on time, they film with silent cameras. That way they don’t have to worry about any outside noises messing up the filming process and they don’t have to do as many takes.
One of them also mentioned the different dialects and Chinese languages have an effect on the filming process, too.
I’m with you, I don’t like the dubbing. I wish they would take their time with the projects and hone in on acting skills, because I think it would make their shows a thousand times better. Plus, I believe that the actual actors get cheated out of voice recognition when we don’t get to hear their actual voices.
