I so often struggle with having not enough photos so this flip thru was super inspiring. Your spreads are so gorgeous, fun and "alive" even without loads of photos! Thanks for showing 🥰
So thankful you said that. Yes. Don't think we have to have tons of photos. Don't think it has to be anyway save for the way we want it. And then, that changes again on the next page! Keep it fun, girl! Thank you for sharing your thoughts here. Some one else will be inspired by this too.
Same with me - not a lot of photos many days or events. Jamie you help me think of approaching these spreads remembering to journal thoughts and insights if I don’t have lots of events going on most of the time. Love the tags and quotes and cups of coffee = comfort! Thank you for the inspiration!
@@mzimany1 Thank you for sharing that! Yes! You said it. Journaling thoughts and insights. Life is so very daily. Most often there are not huge events going on. Life is made up of so many little things. I pray you can find those and find the stories in those insights as well. Thank you so much for being here.
Okay Jamie, you got me. I quit scrapbooking a LONG time ago, no one seemed to be enjoying it but me - of course that was no reason to quit, but I did... Not sure why i started watching your videos as journaling was not 'me' and being all of nothing, I became a card maker after my back completely failed me - HAD to do SOMETHING, right? Anyway, just wanted to tell you - you create how I feel, I'm enamored with your style 😊❤ i guess I'm going to have to subscribe and become a journalist - after turning 60 this year (what?!? Lol) I had an epiphany, i guess sort of?, and have come to realize that memories, good or bad, are really the ONLY thing we have thru the years to have close and keep us warm. I have been feeling and remembering soooo much these days, and because of YOU, I've got a NEED to get it down. Thanks Jamie, stay you, I'll be watching my, sfam 💕❤️
Ok...there is so much here!!! I loved reading it all: "no one seemed to be enjoying it but me": This would be because it is only for us. I use to think my kids would take their albums when they moved out. Nope. No interest whatsoever. And that's OK. (this could be a good topic for a video perhaps), but we do the making for us. Just like you outlined in the rest of this comment. ❤ 'guess I'm going to have to subscribe and become a journalist': LOL!!! There are worse things...LOL!!! No, actually, this makes me so happy! If there were ever a goal from here it would be that more of my creative friends would write and journal. The wellness factor of that touches so many areas of our lives. And then the pretty play is total bonus!!! ❤ ' have come to realize that memories, good or bad, are really the ONLY thing we have thru the years to have close and keep us warm.': I learned a long time ago that life is made up of the little things. The big events in our life are for sure good and important. But gratitude comes from capturing the little unnoticed things in life and that comes by way of being observant and then remembering by writing it down. Thank you so much for being a new subscriber. I cover a lot of things here. Hope you continue to find inspiration. ❤
There are a lot of things that you do that I just love, but the tip about hiding a photo that doesn’t really ‘match’ is great. Printing them out in black and white works well too. I’ve been binge watching your videos and they are all so helpful and inspiring. Thank you Jamie!
Super happy you resonated with that photo idea. And besides, black and white photography is just beautiful! Thank you so much for watching, Cristina. Let me know if you ever have any questions.
Thank YOU, Martha for being here. I know you too love all the wonderful memories you are keeping as well. Let's just keep doing that. Have a great day.
Wow…‼️. So much work, commitment, joy, sorrow, learning and growing throughout your pages. Thank you for sharing so many awesome techniques and ideas! I so appreciate your honesty and making yourself vulnerable to us. As a beginner i just laugh at some of my starts and even say to myself.. Oh Jamie, how easy you make it look! 😂. But I just keep trying and remind myself its the memories that are important! Looking forward to more learning and Stop the Blur lessons! Thanks again😃❤️
Hey, you, oh inspirer of so many ponderings here on this side of the screen...something that I think is important to remember is how L O N G I have been doing Memory Planner. This is not what it is now over night. I am trying to think...I believe Heidi came out with her first Memory Planner, a spiral bound hardback, I think in 2014. 2014!!! So. I will just leave that there. Do not compare yourself to me. That is not what I want for you at all. Do what you know to do. One day at a time. And just don't stop. Ok....off my soap box now. 😁
😂. I totally agree with you, its just so funny to think, oh, yea, i can do that and then….!😮. The best part of retirement for me is trying new things, especially those challenging my right brain! No right or wrong here, just learning, the best part of life at my age!!😃❤️. Thanks, as always for your encouragement and positive words! PS I miss the snow!! We lived in Alaska for 20 years and winters in Indiana just aren’t the same of course. I have visited your beautiful state and miss those majestic mountains as well!!🌄. Enjoy!
❤❤❤ Jamie, I absolutely love your walk through videos!!! I’ve barely begun this way of memory keeping and have tons to do since subscribing to STB, but your videos are so helpful and inspiring!!! I love that you keep it real in these videos and how you always encourage us to focus on getting our memories down on the pages and not worry about perfection! I must say your pages are spectacular!!! 😊
Thank you, Connie. You have a fantastic perspective.❤ Hope you do not get overwhelmed. Just focus on the page in front of you. And enjoy it. The memory review is just always and simply so good! Thank you for your kind words.
I love how you say, just start! I’ve always struggled with just starting, because I am worried about having a system to documenting every day. But I love how you showed the month that’s really loose. And it didn’t follow a certain day. I actually could do that. I don’t feel overwhelmed that I will do it wrong. So maybe I will start there? And then I could start recording as well. Absolutely beautiful… And thank you for showing us the parts. You did not finish because that makes me feel like we are human and that’s OK. Just start. I will do that this week! Love you friend!❤
You know how excited that makes me to hear you say you are gonna start? SO excited!!! So happy you found a take away. Hopefully you see there are so many ways to make a page happen. Your way is just waiting to be discovered. Much luck. And thank you.
I wanted to do this but got total overwhelm paralysis and never started! I think that I will I try again. I’m on a spiritual journey this year and I feel the need to document it.
Oh, yes yes yes! Your pages are just waiting to hold your journey. You don't want to forget what you have learned. Memory Planner would make a fantastic faith journal for sure. Let me know how it goes when you get this started. I'm rooting for you, Beth!!!

How do you get so much to add? Are you retired? My day is a Groundhog Day of work, home, cook, sleep. Rinse and repeat. I wouldn’t have any pictures or journaling to add. Disappointing cos this looks very therapeutic to make with me being a creative.
I have been thinking about your question since I first saw it pop up in my notifications. As a matter of fact, I quickly went to work and also quickly came up with an entire blog post based on this question. It may even end up here on the channel too. No. I am not retired. And I laughed at that as I don't think I ever will be able to retire...LOL. My day is pretty routine too. I work from home, so it is mostly me just talking to myself most the day. But it is also me looking for the things that do add to my day. I actually just posted about this on my IG feed. This is a very valid question. And I am planning to share my thoughts on it more here soon. Thank you so much for putting that out there.
This is just great. It's so lively, I almost can relive YOUR memories when looking at it. (: I'm doing a bit of a similar approach in my daily planner, but since it's also a lot about venting, reflecting and organising I often get into a bit of space problems and am unsure whether I want to go for a week on a page or just subsequential dailies every new week all over again =/. This encourages me again to jsut stick to the week on a page model and add on top. It sometimes feels redundant and sometimes I'm not sure if I should include some pictures AGAIN which is one point that keeps me from doing it at all, I think. How do you deeal with the redundancy problem when keeping severalprojects? Does it ever occur to you?
Your questions are completely relevant. There are of course a lot of ways one can approach this. This may need its own video, because I do have a lot to say on the subject. One thing I will comment: (memory) planner for me is of a more personal nature. For example, while my kids may pull out a photo album, they are not necessarily pulling out my planner. That's just a small example. Memory Planner for me can be (but not always) more micro storytelling. While trad scrapping is more of a bigger picture. One more thing: I think we just need to tell the story that we want to tell where we want to tell it. Overthinking can stall me out. I'm trying not to do that so much. This conversation needs to continue.Thank you SO much for starting it. Love talking about this stuff.
