i work at autozone, unless you have a reciept, you cannot return any parts that do not have a warranty. the warranty is also why we ask for EVERYONE'S phone number
As an employee of AutoZone if the part does not have a warranty on it then you really can't do anything without a receipt sure you can get an in-store credit but it depends

They can do a undamaged return with no receipt, use the money from the return for your new items, and if there is some money left over they should give you a store merchandise card. The back of the receipt say 90 days with the receipt in the original package and original condition. If its not like that technically they don't have to return it. Now if their managers say something else that's different.
they already offer in store credit but some locations limit what can be returned. an example is the old store i worked at, we stopped taking small product returns because people would come in and start filling their bags. Policy says to stop shoplifters but dont confront This is their way of mitigating losses

However, these items CAN be replaced with a store credit and applied to a merchandise card if the customer supplies the proper credentials. An immediate issue of store credit can be used as an immediate balance sufficient for purchase at the store. With this said, an exchange seems 100% logical and doable in this particular video. The lady with the camera mentions "store credit" when she first starts talking to the manager on duty. She was never asking for a full refund. The sales manager should have known this and she was wrong, in my opinion. The camera phone issue is a moot point in my opinion. Just allow the lady to exchange her things and roll the camera. This video could have turned into a positive light on Autozone instead of a negative light. On the flip side, and Devil's advocate here, these hardware/auto-parts sores' antiquated computer systems are a nightmare to work with in terms of warranty items and core exchanges. So please be patient with the folks behind the registers. Just my 2c.

So this manager is wrong i guess it varries district to district i am a PSM (Parts Sales Manager) currently and you can do an exchange/ return without a receipt only with a valid Drivers license/ ID card valid Passport etc. usually the return would be on a Store merchandise card or on occasion cash with managment discretion in this case especially for an item that is only max $10 dollar manager is 100% in the wrong and should have a Write up or some kinda of consequence to her actions
I work for zone, I've never seen a sign or heard that a customer can't record in a store. As for the exchange without a receipt, it is very common that people steal items and come back to the store or to another store in the area and try to exchange or try to refund product without a receipt. It's common and is at the store managers discretion. And if it is returned the value goes directly onto a merchandise card/ gift card.

There is a scam by store staff from months passed. They take the item and leave the inventory box. UPS folks and porch pirates also do it also. they leave the bag and box, but take the items in it. Beware during the Christmas season.

She won't work in an autozone again and if she didn't get fired then the District Manager and possibly Reginal Managers need looked into. You simply call the 1-800 number and get your receipt number and then you give it to the cashier and they process your receipt and refunded to your debit card even though the cashier was going to try to rip you off you just keep giving them the receipt number and eventually you'll get your money back then you can report them to the district manager like I did after you get your money back

You simply call the 1-800 number and get your receipt number and then you give it to the cashier and they process your receipt and refunded to your debit card even though the cashier was going to try to rip you off you just keep giving them the receipt number and eventually you'll get your money back then you can report them to the district manager like I did after you get your money back
They can look up ur name or phone number
You probably stole it frome them and then returns it
