Thanks for a great year of recipes Chef Jack. Looking forward to more of your entertaining content and fantastic recipes in the new year. I would like to wish Chef Jack and every a Very Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year. Cheers.
OMG I would quite happily sit with that whole dish in front of me and nothing else. This looks incredible. I think I'll try it with a mix of broccoli and cauliflower. Mmmmm, I can't wait to try this, thanks Jack. And a very Merry Christmas to you and yours. I hope 2022 is a great success for you. Looking forward to more incredible recipes. Lee :)
Absolutely delicious!! I made a broccoli potato cheese bake out of it! Also i added some garlic to the sauce and put some flaked almonds into the cheese crust 😋 such a treat!
Roasting the veggies rather than boiling or steaming definitely makes a huge difference to the end result taste wise! Another cracking recipe, thanks chef...
The recipe is amazing! The whole dish was empty in five minutes! But I adjusted it a bit. We like our broccoli a bit crispy, so I kept it in the oven only for five minutes and after adding the sauce-20 minutes. The result was amazing. Velvety cheesy sauce and a light crisp in broccoli
I have never roasted my broccoli 🥦 will definitely be trying it this way. I’m also going to try your measurements for the roux as mine always seems runny. Merry Christmas Jack 🎅
@@SergioGarcia-cn2kd We are nearly in 2022 and people like you still think it's appropriate to push your views on other people......I will eat what I want and it's got nothing to do with you. My fella is vegetarian and I eat very little meat. If I want to eat cheese, I will eat cheese. Go and comment elsewhere x
Today I had a Chef Jack Ovens roast…..Cooked this today, such simple ingredients, so very tasty, roast potatoes, and Yorkshire puddings were perfect! Thank you so much …… 💕
not a fan of broccoli but i’d totally eat this !! thanks for the new recipe jack, cant wait to try :) hope u have a merry christmas and happy new year !!
I never used to be either but after working with it for a while it grew on me and now I love it. This recipe really gets the best flavour out of it by roasting it before hand. Merry Christmas and happy new year 🥳
Looking good mate. Merry Christmas. Can you possibly do a Christmas leftovers video for how to repurpose the tonne of leftover food. There's only so many toasties you can make with turkey and ham before you get sick of it. Lol 😆
Yay cheese and broccoli 😋and a different way of how to get the broccoli cooked👍. I made something similar a while ago using broccoli, cauliflower, potatoes, and carrots (all cut in pieces) I boiled them so they are like half done and added the this lovely cheesy sauce (adding different kinds of cheese - I love cheese so I go wild when using it) and then baked in the oven. Is it ok to make the sauce less thick and still smooth or is it a must that it should be that thick and smooth? Thanks for everything and Merry Christmas 🎄❤🤗
I have been making this recipe since the 1960's. It was considered gourmet fare to assuage the pre fast food meat and potato Americans and Frenchify the diet. My recipe called for par boiling the Brocoli first but last night I followed your instructions and pre baked it for an Xmass Eve dinner party and found the texture and taste to be more interesting. Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks?
I finally got around to making this, was going to do it for christmas so I could compete with my mother's broccoli cheese but I got lazy. She throws in bacon too. Next time we have a Sunday Roast though, I'm bringing this around, thanks a lot!
As usual Chef, great video. Sidebar - I also keep my camping chairs next to my fridge just in case the electricity goes off and I need to move outside with my fresh ingredients in the fridge to re invent dinner!
Hi Janice, I didn’t realise this was a super thanks comment as RUclips doesn’t notify me properly about it yet. I’m so grateful and you really didn’t have to do that. Thank you so much 🙏❤️
Thank you so much for this recipe!! I have a question tho, we don't have oven :(( can I use microwave instead? Love your channel! You earned a new subscriber cheers!
Thank you so much for subscribing! If worse case scenario is using a microwave it can be done but you won't have a cheese crust and the nice golden colour. It will still taste very nice but won't be the full flavour.
@@molly8335 I'm not sure what you can get, in Germany there is lactose free cow milk, it's produced by adding its counterpart to the normal cow milk. This will definitely work, others will influence the taste and I don't want to give advise on it

I usually do this with broccoli and cauliflower, combined with some fried onions and garlic before baking it all together!
Great way to eat veggies!

Hey man nice work could you possibly do a seafood dish next time? Shrimp or salmon would be great

The pre baking really elevates the flavour!
Broccoli? Come on Jack lol. I have two requests. Chocolate souffle and Duck Fideos

Hi Chef Jack! Can I use ground nutmeg that comes in a bottle? Thanks ❤
What book do you recommend for cooking , I heard the flavor Bible is good but seriously I need to make this
What about including the protein in with the dish? Chicken and broccoli tray bake sounds nice
Nice Recipe
Thank you 🙏
Beef wellington please next 😁
Is it possible to cook the cheese sauce without using flour? Trying to use this for a low carb/no flour diet.
Hello, if you add cheese and one egg yolk to your Bechamel Sauce, you obtain what in France we call the "Mornay Sauce". :)
You know it
Thank you so much for this recipe!! I have a question tho, we don't have oven :(( can I use microwave instead?

Merry Christmas Chef 😁 I would like to try this recipe but can i substitute the milk with lactose free milk? If so which one would go with brocolli?
Will definitely work with lactose free milk. Or do you mean milk from other sources then cows?
the cheeese is gonna f u up anyway so might as well go for the gold and have it on a day you can fart your heart out!
@thomas xxl yeah anything that has no lactose will do
@@greentree211 older cheese that layed longer looses it lactose

It is beutiful...:)
Oh wow… not even gonna ask about calories… it looks too good!
noooo nutmeg here
I think I added a bit too much oil but hope it turns out good haha
I assume I can add bacon liberally? Haha
Thanks very much for the demonstration of Btoccoli cheese bake. You are too fast in your explanation.kindly show the recipe of quantity. Thank you
Blink
I just love it when people take a healthy food like broccoli and destroy it by adding a 2 pounds of cheese on it.
It’s not called healthy broccoli cheese bake is it?
Half the sauce
where's the rice???
Rice? It’s cheese bake
@@ChefJackOvens Ah ok. Looks delish!
