Hi great vid. I recently changed disks and pads and wanted to adjust the handbrake but I actually can't turn the adjuster. But when I spin the rotors it seems to be pretty close to the shoes. Could I need to remove slack from the cable? Or do I wd40 the adjuster and try turning again?
My VY's hand brake stops the car, however, the handbrake handle doesn't stay in place, I have to keep holding it. It doesn't make any clicks at all either. Has anyone had something like it ? Cheers.
hi brainmess my mates 94 vs Commodore handbrake button is stuck in side the lever do need to pull it apart first and get the button out or tighten the adjuster first?
+Josh Dontno Hey Josh, had the same thing happen with mine. just had to pry the button out with a screwdriver then lube it with some silicone spray. they get gummed up with dirt when they get that old. hope this helps

Chris Papaioannou I would take the discs off and free up the adjusters. I wouldn't just go spraying WD40 through the holes
Anyone trying to adjust their VS commodore handbrake in SEP 2024 (or after) ? The 1996 VS is 28 years old this year.

what if i adjusted the drum the whole way and it doesnt do anything?
Could be slack at another point of the cable, but 5 years later... Its probably not a issue anymore
