    My sister has been sewing for quite a while, and I took on my first cosplay project earlier this year and found that I really really liked sewing when it came to that part of it! Just found your channel earlier today, and I've been binging your videos learning as much as I can! Planning on ordering that Singer 4423 in the next few days as a Christmas gift to myself. I need a new creative hobby and I think I just might have found it.
    So I just wanted to say thank you! And also I love your video style so much!

Thank you so much for your very clear and informative videos - there is a lot in them for me to learn/use. A bit selfish, but wish me luck. All the very best and peace, happiness and prosperity. Any tips on fabric substitutions? I like to thrift my fabrics and use up my stash before buying new stuff. Are there any general rules on what can be subbed for what?

    • @GloryAllan
      @GloryAllan  Месяц назад +2

      Try to stick with the same fabric type (ie wovens sub for wovens; same for knits).
      Also try to match in weight, so your prototype will sit the same as the final.
      I'll try to think of some more tips but those are the first that come to mind.

    Question for around 3:40 ish, I have an old sewing machine which is mostly out of metal - it seems to me that the only weak point would be the needle for when sewing multiple layers of denim/canvas... is that correct or amy I forgetting something? (The machine is an old bernina record 730)
    Edit for clarification: I'm asking in regards to the comments about stressing the machine
