1:25 yeah its rng but the score loss is really small (every star jelly is 8666pts, 9116pts with a maxed all jellies bonus) but then again its GCL i suppose

1:48 getting that extra yellow bear in exchange for a few coins is probably worth it but its a very small increase, seems possible to jump in a way where you only sacrifice the coins near the ground and nothing else
