Very good review. Just so you know, the reason he has Duke's backpack is because in the old days, his backpack was reused when Duke was released. This is Hasbro paying attention to nostalgia by having them share the same backpack.
That was the first thing I thought as well when you mentioned the backpack. Also I think airborne is actually an aerosol Trooper who wouldn’t be parachuting out anyway he would be fast roping or rappelling out of choppers. No need for a parachute which would have him need another backpack anyway because your shoot is totally different from your regular rucksack. I spent a couple years in the 82nd unfortunately to the detriment of my spine so it’s probably where I learned that

Hasbro created an updated backpack for Classified Duke which is fine but in this case I don't feel the same backpack works with Airborne. If Hasbro had recreated the original backpack for Classified Airborne I would have liked that. But overall I would have liked a brand new sculpt of a backpack for Classified Airborne. Airborne has a new body sculpt, new helmet, new NV goggles and the covered goggles for the helmet. Why not give him a new backpack. Just saw my phone autocorrected the above in a couple of did spots. I personally really love when they have minimal changes to the original 3 and 3/4 figures. I picked up Snow Job as he was my first of two Joes (Destro was the other), and I am “meh” about him. I also picked up retro Zartan at same time, and I really like that one, yet he was not a childhood fave, i cené had to trade for him as a kid, never had him new. My next figure I wanted to see was Doc. I saw the pics of him but I think he is going to be along the lines of classified snow job for me. A meh figure. There are some color details that bring me back as a kid (the blue on the snow serpent for example, original Snow Job’s red beard, retro Gung Ho’s Aqua BDU’s ). If these five were a bit cheaper I would buy em just because, as they are pretty expensive, I try to make sure they are really giving me that nostalgia feel. Just my half a cent as a half fast collector. I almost enjoy watching reviews and content about this stuff as much as purchasing it. And you are correct we are all entitled to our opinions. You were good enough to take the time and give your about this figure which I am almost inclined to pick up. I liked Airborne as a kid, this figure is pretty close.

I never collected the Gi joe line as a kid but l am started collecting the classified line. Airborne is a good looking figure. I love the head sculpt and the vest. Agreed the weapons could've been made a little better. Hes good looking figure. Love the vest color. Good video sir.

The figure line started out as the characters designed different from the original 3 3/4 inch line but now they have become pretty much exact replicas of the 3 3/4 line in 6 inch scale. So even if you didn't collect them as a kid, you're basically getting the originals in 6 inch. I love them. Yes they have their flaws and some quality issues at times but great figures to get into! @@destrosdesk I would like to recommend you always do the review. I wonder if people are like me. I watch multiple of the reviews before I make a choice to either purchase or keep my preorders. Just a suggestion. Sometimes every pair of eyes doesn’t always look at the same thing in the same way.

fantastic review as usual! I was thinking about skipping on this figure, because I did not get the dragonfly helicopter, and I feel that he would be a little bit weird without it. Who knows, I may pick him up anyway, if I see him being discounted, there's always a chance that Hasbro will release some other aircraft in the future.
I don’t really like his color scheme, but might get him and repaint. Also, I want to see if his helmet fits Action Sailor, cause it looks like it could match his olive green accents, and make a good helmet for out of the water work.
Hey!! Ya the color scheme is of his original Joe figure. There's lots of possibilities with customizing the paint. It's a solid figure that looks great! Do you mean the 60th anniversary diver or the infantry soldier? I haven't tried the helmet on the infantry soldier but I would think it should fit. I might try that tonight. I have the anniversary figures but still haven't opened them. I'll let you know when I open it up.

Hey dude! Thank you for checking out the video! I think you'll definitely love Airborne. Most of my toy collection are on those Billy bookcases from Ikea. I've got 7 of those screwed together and mounted to the wall. Those are cases are good and not too expensive. And then all my Classified figures are on different shelves. They are those rods you mount to the wall that have the notches in them to adjust heights. Then you have the bars that go into the rods and you get the white boards to lay on the boards. These you can get at home depot. If you watch my video from a couple months back where I get the Serpentor figure from the antique mall, that shows my classified shelves. The beginning of the Airborne video shows the Billy bookcases in the background. If you want any close up pictures I can send you some. Just let me know. Cheers man 🍻

No problem man! The video is the one that on the thumbnail the title is "I've been looking for this for 37 years". I'm on there too and there's a red sign that says antique mall. The Ikea bookcases are good and sturdy.
In the vintage ARAH era Airborne was given a different color version of Duke’s back pack so 20 years later they are pay homage to that same figure.interesting how “Destro’s desk” doesn’t know shit about the history of GIJOE. Knowing is half the battle!
Actually I do know the history of GiJoe. I am quite aware that the original Duke and Airborne have the same backpacks from the ARAH line. And if Hasbro did a 6 inch scale version of that backpack I would be happy with that as it suits the character and figure much better. But when Hasbro created a new sculpt for the backpack for Classified Duke, that's fine but it doesn't suit Airborne in my opinion. So when I flashed the ARAH Airborne on the screen in my video you can clearly see that backpack. If Hasbro made that same backpack for Classified Airborne I would be happy with that. So I do know some shit LOL!
Really no excuse that we are still getting rubbery weapons! Once again I will have to pay premium Gridiron prices to get some decent quality weapons loadout for this guy.

I would choose the Billy bookcases over anything from Walmart. Just my opinion.

Both Airborne and Spirit are from GIJOE. Airborne has experience in sky diving but he's a Helicopter co-pilot. Spirit is a tracker.
