At my first Rufus Wainwright concert (in 2005, I believe) he played this and told us it was his first time playing it during a concert. It holds a very special place in my heart.
Oh, Rufus! You've done it again. You never fail to delight me! I have not heard this beautiful song before, what a treasure Thank you for posting, Vendredi
This, along with "patience is a virtue" should've been included on the standard version of "release the stars".. two of his finest ever, and that's saying a lot
It was on a limited edition release of 'Release the stars,' or something like that, there was another one too 'Cowboy love song,' least I think that's what it was called, with an instrumental version of 'Do I disappoint you?' You should be able to find it on itunes.
