The stage is set for a new body shape from the Volkswagen brand: With the new compact crossover Taigo, Volkswagen is launching an SUV coupé on the European market for the first time. The front-wheel drive Taigo is a real crowd-pleaser with its trendy crossover body style, raised seating positions, pioneering connectivity and unrestricted suitability for everyday use. The rear of the five-seater car slopes backwards in the style of a coupé, without restricting headroom in the back seat. This sees Volkswagen expand the portfolio of the compact Polo (hatchback) and T-Cross (SUV) models built on the MQB platform with a third chassis variant, which has previously been primarily re-served for high-end models. Numerous latest-generation assistance systems guarantee optimum comfort and a high level of safety for all passengers.
The new Taigo focusses on design, individuality and emotion. With full LED head-lights, an all-digital cockpit and the latest generation of infotainment systems (MIB3) as standard, the SUV coupé meas- uring in at just under 4.26 metres sets high technology standards in its class. The expressive body shape is the first of its kind in the Volkswagen brand’s model portfolio. With a crossover body style and a silhouette like that of a coupé, the new Taigo - just like its Brazilian counterpart the Nivus - is perfectly equipped for winning over new, predominantly young and young-at-heart groups of buyers for Volkswagen. The technical basis of the Taigo is Volkswagen’s MQB. Depending on the options selected, the Taigo also comes with the new IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights and an illuminated radiator grill crossbar.
The Taigo’s design is characterised by strong proportions, with the silhouette like that of a coupé being particularly striking with the C pillar slanting well forward. Inspired by SUV coupés in higher vehicle classes, this makes the Taigo unique in its sector.
On the inside, the Taigo scores with an elaborately designed multifunctional steering wheel and modern control elements as standard. The infotainment systems are based on the third generation of MIB3, including an online control unit (eSIM) and “App Connect Wireless” (depending on the configuration).
And when it comes to driver assistance for more comfort and safety, the new SUV coupé is very similar to Volkswagen models from higher sectors. Every Taigo comes with assistance systems such as the surroundings monitoring system “Front Assist”, including city emergency brake function, and the lane departure warning system “Lane Assist” as standard. “IQ.DRIVE Travel Assist” is available as an optional extra, enabling semi-automated driving up to a system-determined top speed of 210 km/h.

VW built a Subaru Crosstrek, except they missed the whole point of the Crosstrek which was to use the same expensive body stampings as the Impreza hatchback.
I'm not sure if this is an improvement over just jacking up a Golf and putting gray flares and rocker panel trim.

Просто Поло с наценкой 50-70%. Раньше делали универсал или минивэн (типа Поло+), а теперь так просто нельзя, надо придумать кроссовер, чтобы было дороже.
На руле говенный пластик "под титан", который очень быстро облезет. Панель жуткая, цифры мелкие, везде дешевая голубизна.
What markets is this for?
This is for Europe, but in some other countries it's already on market with name Nivus
Interesting that this VW gets proper buttons for climate control and on the steering wheel. Hopefully they’ll revisit the Golf and sort out the ergonomics with something that actually works.

cijena još nije poznata, ono što znam je da u Hrvatsku stiže krajem godine s tri linije opreme: „Life“, „Style“ „R-Line“ te s tri TSI motora (1.0 TSI sa 70 kW/95 KS, 1.0 TSI sa 81 kW/110
KS i 1.5 TSI sa 110 kW/150 KS)
@@crospotter13 Može pitanje? Od SUV koji bi prije uzeo(ja prelazim maksimalno 12 000 km) Toyota Yaris Cross, Suzuki Vitara ili Hyundai Kona? A od normalnih auta Toyota Corolla Sedan, Škoda Scala ili Hyundai i30? Svakako bi uzimao bezninca jer mi se ne isplati dizel uzimati jer ne prelazim puno, a i kakva su tvoja iskustva sa motorima koji imaju 3 cilindra?
@@Domagoj031R uf teško pitanje, od navedenih svi su zapravo jako dobri auti, tu je više stvar osobnog dojma. Toyota Yaris Cross će vjerojatno imati najviše tehnologije budući da se nudi hibrid i pogon na sve kotače, ali s obzirom na kilometre klasični benzinac bi definitivno bio preporuka. Što se trocilindraša tiče, po meni VW grupa i BMW imaju daleko najbolje (osobno vozim MINI 3 cilindra BMW-ov motor i prosječna osoba ne bi mogla skužiti da je riječ o tri cilindra). Hyundaijev trocilindraš sam isprobao na novom Bayonu i također je dobro iskustvo. Možda nekaka najbolji omjer uloženo dobiveno bi mogla biti Kona ili Vitara od kojih mi je Kona modernija, posebno iznutra. VW Taigo će isto bit zanimljiva opcija u klasi malih SUV modela
@@crospotter13 A Scala, Corolla Sedan, Hyundai i30? Corolla ima sad 1.5 motor, ali 3 cilindra motor i nitko se nije dosad žalio na njih koliko sam čuo.
@@crospotter13 Ja bi da promenim svoj Polo (aktualni model) sa ovim modelom VW Tiago jer zelim malo veci i lepsi auto. Jel smatrate da je pametno uraditi isto, smatram da bi mogao da dobijem Tiago u dobrom paketu opreme za oko 22-23.000€

The shape of the glass reminds me of the hatchback Passat of the 70's. This overall though, is another boring characterless white good. Modern cars may be more efficient and safer but jeez, most if them are dull.

Peugeout come and go. This is style and has classic lines. It will age much better. For example when the 208 was introduced it was an instant success, it even got the car of the year award and blew out with sales becoming a No1 car by sales in 2020. Where it is 208 now? Way behind the VW Polo which is 3 years older model in fact, not even in the Top 10 cars sold in Europe...

VW on the other hand increased their sales for the same period go 130.000, double then the sales of Peugeout. Even the VAG group sells more cars then Stellantis. ACEA AUTO stats
