I KNOW ! WHY RED . Maybe it's because Red was the originally badass strong trainer that defeated everyone. So he has the job of making sure everything goes right and nothing is messed up. I don't know ?

I don't know, I think the story went like this. Emmet wants to become the strongest trainer in the world (with the help of Ingo) so everytime he finds someone that stronger than him he kills them. If he keeps doing thsi Emmet will become the strongest trainer in the world there for unstoppable. So Red has to kill him so that other trainers are able to live out their dreams. This is only my thought though.
