- An ancient Jewish ( Beta Israel / Falasha ) kingdom flourished in Eastern Sudan, east of the land of Kush ( Nubia / ancient Ethiopia ), in what is today Sudan. In the 9th/10th century the kingdom expanded into Axum. The kingdom was the homeland of historical figures Eldad Ha Dani and Queen Yodit. No archeological work has been done for this kingdom. Research shows that the kingdom should be located in eastern Sudan's border area. No documentary work was done on this subject before.
This presentation of this video was held at the Monterey Institute of International Studies, California.

Yes, there are Black Jews, namely the Beta Israel. But they came later and are from Ethiopia, not Kush / Sudan. (Some may live in Sudan now. But they were originally from Ethiopia.)
What is Judaism? Is it the religion or the culture which defines the people born of the linage of Israel? I thought jews refer to 3 tribes Judah Levi and Benjamin. The other 10 tribes (cause Joseph had 2 sons that Yaakov replaced him with) was referred to Israel in the split. Jews I believe world wide term to refer to all people of the loins of Yaakov. Pointing to Judah were the word Jew comes from as the anointed tribe. Maybe we should be called Hebrew 😂 then none be left out or explain why they live in other people’s land. Good thing the call themselves “Beta Israel” cause the name speaks for itself no country needed.

In ancient literature, Ethiopia described all lands south of Egypt, and Libya described all lands west of the Nile. Only context arbitrates what country the sources had in mind. When they spoke of the Nile's sources, mountains, etc... they had the present Ethiopia in mind. Other times they had other more southern lands in mind. A categorical description does not cut it.
Am a student of archeology myself and I dont understand why almost all archeology work in Africa is in Egypt. I dont know if archeologists are ignorant or lazy, but there are so many places in Africa other than Egypt that are so rich in history. Why would an archeologist prefer to search for shriveled up mummies in Egypt than to explore undiscovered kingdoms elsewhere in Africa I don’t understand?.....

Actually the Hebrew Israelite is a different group from the relatively newer Jews.
It must be noted clearly that the Sudan received the first wave of Hebrew Israelite who went mainly to Ethiopia from Yemen via Bab El Mandeb in 1876 BC, about 30 years after Patriarch Joseph ended up in Ethiopia.

Axum is present day Eritrea & Northern Ethiopia (Tigray) but Abyssinia is present day Ethiopia. Eritrea was NOT part of Abyssinia

We can't separate the two kingdoms. Nubia and Axum was the parts of Kush (Ancient Ethiopia) kingdom. Literally Kush means black. The present day north Sudan and north Ethiopia was the part of these history.
