😂the TELECASTER is a “Deep C” and the PRS is a “wide thin”. I blame my graveyard shift editor 🤣🤣🤣🫶🏻

I like all my guitars in my collection to have different-feeling necks. I pass on buying a guitar that feels similar to something in my collection. I generally have no preference, but my favorite is the PRS Wide Fat neck. Awesome video Holmes!

I believe in allowing each guitar to be what it is. I will make a few changes here and there, but try to adapt as well as I can...I end up learning a little bit from each guitar I play, and those have been good (and bad!) lessons about my playing.

I agree with you completely friend!! They all have their own thing. I was listening to slash today and he touched a little on the fact that how when he was younger, he was trying to make every guitar sound like a Les Paul into a Marshall, no matter what he played, instead of embracing each guitar’s voice. Thanks for your comment friend!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

🤣🤣🤣 you’re right! It made its appearance on the show! 🤣🤣🤣 and I agree that the Charvel looks really good! I think the lighting is super flattering to all the contours!! I may swap the pickups in the future so I can use it more often!! It really plays and looks nice!!

I have 5 Fender strats all with different shaped necks. I don’t have a favorite shape though. People ask why I have so many strats and the neck feel and how they make me play differently is more of the reason than anything else. 👍

Totally!! I agree with you! I feel the same, necks are so different. Lots of comfort differences, and little creative suggestions along the way! 🙌🏻😊

This is something that I can't relate to. Whether it's the neck shape or the radius, it doesn't affect me. I feel like I can pick up any guitar and maybe take a few seconds to get acclimated and then I'm just playing and forget about it. It a fraction of a mm affects your playing, more practice is required. Some people claim you can't do big bends on a 7.25" radium for example. These are people are objectively wrong. Similarly when people say they can't to bar chords on a certain neck shape I just roll my eyes.
Playing at the heel, the neck joint does matter, yes.

I’m glad you agree with almost every point in this video. I used to think very similarly until my network grew and met more people and realized that some people have very very small hands or suffer some disabilities and such, they mention a lot more how certain differences feel much more noticeable due to their conditions. Not everyone is that close to the bare medium where everything works. 🤣🤣 it’s like shoes, I always find shoes my size, but my friend who wears 16 can’t find the ones he wants or cares about! Thanks for your nice comment! As always, Have a wonderful weekend friend! 🙌🏻🙌🏻😊

@@Itsjorgelanzas that’s a good point. I hadn’t considered people who are differently abled. I was only speaking for myself.

I would have to disagree when you say "if mm affect your playing you need more practice". Been playing for 20 years and I've discovered neck thickness has a big impact on what and how I play. The difference between a Deep C and a Modern U is just a few mm, but I've found that having a super skinny neck makes me feel like I'm not holding on to anything and affects how I play. On the other end something like a Silver Sky, which has a very thick neck, makes it harder for my smaller hands to grab certain notes quickly. Yes I can adapt to a neck and guitar, but certain necks feel more comfortable/faster/slower and affects how achievable certain techniques are. Yes a Honda Civic and a Lamborghini Aventador can both get you to work, but you're only taking one out to a track day.
