The second part of your comment in interesting but would you elaborate on what you mean by dancing for the past and not for the future? I have my own theory of what it might be, but I'm interested in hearing your reasoning.
When I look at their dancing, I see the champions that came before them, but I don’t see THEM. They look like they are committed to rehearsing the past instead of creating the future. It all looks great; however, I don’t see what end all this fabulous technique and power ultimately serve 🤷🏻♀️
@@ficklefialka309 Thanks for elaborating. Its still a bit cryptic and I don't fully get it, but not to worry. I would say that your reference to power and technique could be hung on almost everyone nowadays, because that's just where this style of dance has evolved to. It's now more sport than dance. A lot of over stretching, exaggerated movement, tortured cringy facial expressions are all too common and worse than ever. There's a distinct lack of individuality and uniqueness in all but a few couple and for me at least this couple is playing to their strength which is strong chemistry and connection, musicality and sound technique. I think once they move into the pro field will really show what they are made of. I see Klemen and Alexandra have really exploded in the pro field, whereas Ferdinando and yulia for example haven't quite made the same impact after being twice world amateur champions. I really like what this couple brings and they will keep developing and will add much needed personality and strength to the Pro field. Your comment on Dorin and Marinas Rumba at this event I think is very well articulated. That routine and execution is quite something else.
In short, it’s too conservative. That’s not what Amateurs is all about. Where’s the creative energy and revolutionary spirit? They look like a reproduction of R and Y. Is that what the dance world needs? Maybe, but I find it regressive.

she's become such a dance powerhouse, but i don't like the direction of their dance development at all. dancing for the past, not for the future
