This really is a series I look forward to. Sorry the community hasn’t been kind to you Richard, hope you know there is an audience for this kind of content even if it’s not as big as it should be!
Richard, please don't quit CS. Your podcast with Thorin is so good and despite the haters you have a ton of fans in the community who do appreciate your work. You're one of the only good ones we have left...
@@someguy535 Only hope left is Snake and Banter where Mauisnake gains even more of a bold personality, hard to pull off when he's still doing gigs often for ESL and PGL
Rich not being in CS kills me. I feel like no one will tell it straight anymore with your level of industry and professional knowledge. Thank you for getting me into CS to begin with.
I remember watching Fallen's Kabum lineup at MLG X-Game Aspen giving C9 the business on Mirage, and being enamored with the tactical approach, innovations, and underdog story. Then, around the time Coldzera was picked up, I matched up with some Brazilians in MM and just to bond with them asked if they knew Coldzera and if he was any good or not. They were adamant that he was. Flash-forward to MLG Columbus, and I was in the crowd when he hit the double no-scope. It was like someone dropped a nuke in the arena. And yet that moment still wasn't as devastating as when I saw Moses in-person earlier that day and he ignored me when I called out to him.
18:22 This is such a great point, watching prime FalleN was just incredible. It was almost as if the more high stakes the clutch, the more confident you'd feel as a viewer that he was about to win it.
I love these videos. They are the kind of content I think is missing in a lot of esports. I know it's a joke that these get no views. But please dont let that stop you from making these. It is QUALITY
Banger content as always, I really dont understand how this isn't popular because I can't think of more top tier content in esports than talismanic figures of the scene such as yourself having a discussion about the greatest to have ever played in history. Keep it up and I hope the algorithm will push this to the popularity it deserves
As someone who started watching Pro CSGO like 1 year ago this kind of content is really entertaining and useful to learn about the great teams of the past
Sucks that this doesn't get more views... I started watching CS:GO in 2014, remenecising over all the teams that made me fall in love with the game is so nice. Thank you for the content ❤️.
The qoute " you'll never know the value of something until you lose it " hit me hard when rich announced that he is done with esports. Thank you for everything!
As a new viewer, this is brilliant! Love the analysis side of things, not only a whole different dimension to the game but good conversation steers our game to new horizons.
I love this series! Another next to no-brainer this time though. But I did find it funny how the LG discussion took up about 50 minutes whilst the remaining 20 minutes was on Envy and the vote at the end. Also, I liked that talk about what is considered the GOAT and how Moses doesn't think Coldzera could contend in the top 3 or so.
35:00 I might enjoy the theory side too much but Thooorins comment made me think you could do a parallel universe lan next, where coldzera could be with whoever thoorin was thinking and it wouldn't be out of the ordinary.
Richard and Thorins content has honestly changed the language and references my friend and I use. This is some of the only consistent content I've watched for so many years now. I hope the two never stop.
These are awesome guys, keep it up. Have listened to all of them as soon as they are released and it’s great analysis, great story telling, awesome insight and sick bants
For the algorithm, and the OG talent in our rotting scene. Much love to you, Rich, and of course Spunj, Duncan and Moses. Thanks for the amazing content.
Gonna be sad to see you leave esports Richard, but at the same time I'm hoping you enjoy whatever you end up doing after this. I always enjoyed your content, even the non esports stuff. I'll still be following you wherever your career takes you next. Theres just gonna be a big hole in esports that I doubt will be filled anytime soon. Cheers
Love this content, have loved nearly all your content over the years. Contrary to popular opinion, I'm excited to see you branch out into things other than CS, I liked your recent comedy video.
I followed Luminosity very closely when they were coming up, and Coldzera was always over rated in terms of skill. Fer had more mechanical skill, Fer was always hitting insane shots and Fer would drop his rifle to people like Taco or Boltz during halfbuys and then use a Tech9 and get 3 kills. Coldzera was a great player but his consistency came from teamwork. I watched a lot of POVs of their players during this time and Cold’s POV was always so boring. Everyone was impressed with him being on top of the scoreboard but a large portion of kills he got was stomach shots. Cold’s team would find ways to chip damage the enemy, either by the entry player doing damage or with nades, and then Cold would come in and clean it up with stomach shots. I will say, Cold was incredibly smart at knowing when to go for headshot or stomach shots. When he got down into clutch situations he could sometimes pull some good shots out. Cold is the only player I’ve ever seen that prioritized stomach shots. Technically stomach shots did more damage than chest shots, but people still aimed at the chest so they could get headshots. The interesting thing about going for stomach shots was that the target is bigger, so it was possible for Cold to just focus on improving his reaction time so that he was always the first to shoot in any duel. Thats why Cold said that he was technically the support on his team, because his job was to survive until the rest of his team was able to land some damage. Unlike Valorant, in CSGO the entry fragger was typically considered a support player because their job was the riskiest, they didn’t know where the enemy was and they had to get info for their team. 3rd man into a bombsite was always the “star” player because they were just cleaning up the kills and then playing postplant.
Ignore my comment on the previous episode, only 5 minutes into this one and I suspect this match up might be more difficult. My knee-jerk reaction says 2016 Luminosity for their TRULY META DEFINING era... but 2015 KennyS is on the other side of the server so... Very curious to hear what yall have to say
first video of this series i get recommended, and i just started it, but by looking to the bracket i feel like sk deserves a second spot for their 2017 run, won 7 tier 1 championships in a year, sure they didnt win the major for which they were favorites, but so didnt 2018 faze just to sprinkle in how insane they were that year, through the whole of 2017 they didnt lose a bo3 to faze, who were undisputed the 2nd best team through the year
sorry if i sound like an angry brazilian, but i feel it just felt unfair since 2018 faze and 2018 c9 got a spot and 2017 sk didnt, again havent seen the video yet, just got recommended
I think what this series is missing is an "upset factor", its not that interesting that the best team wins each of the matchups every time. What should happen, is each of the four analysts assigns odds to the game, based on the discussion. The odds are then averaged, and a random number generator determines the match winner based on the odds. Seems like something a betting company would love to sponsor as well. IDK just my 2 cents.
That MLG win was the least legit from all the majors. Fnatic and navi had best players injured/recovering, astralis were still in shazam phase, s1mple didn't yet have enough back strength and the team was a mess, nip had a standin. That's most of the top 8.
This really is a series I look forward to. Sorry the community hasn’t been kind to you Richard, hope you know there is an audience for this kind of content even if it’s not as big as it should be!
