    I grew up on Abbotsford right off of Forest Ave. Went to School 52, K-6, left in 1969, and moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Still a Bills fan after all these years and just recently went up there to watch a game. Had an awesome time, Go Bills!

    Very cool. I grew up in Amherst, left in 1989. Love these Buffalo videos. I get to see things I never knew existed.

    I grew up on Lafayette Ave between Grant and Richmond during the 60’s and 70’s. It was a great Italian neighborhood back then. I remember The Friday night dances at Grace Episcopal hall with a young band called Talas. John’s Pizza Villa, toasted bow ties at The Your Host, Phillip and Son, Norban’s, Super Duper Crystal Beach ride tickets for good report cards, The Inn Between, The Royal Pheasant, Frozen Whip ice cream, Menuette Pizza and all the great bars on Elmwood. The west side was a great fun place to grow up back then. It’s gone through a rough period but I’m glad a new generation has discovered what a great place it is.

    I remember when the Armory caught on fire. I grew up 5 blocks north on West Ave. We went down to see it. You could hear some of the bullets going off. They had to move us back which back then people listened.

    Technically the international rail road bridge is in Black Rock and the Peace bridge is on the West side. I did not know the roof of the armory was red. You could have also shown Front Park and Lasalle Park. I would also suggest some of the centers - like Grant/Ferry, Grant and Lafayette and 5 Corners.

    Why was the downtown ruin in the mid 80s

    • @malcolmainspan5036
      @malcolmainspan5036 7 месяцев назад

      Downtown was in bad shape in the 1970s, and the decline continued until about 15 years ago. It is improving slowly, but the improvements at Canalside, the Fruit Belt, Larkinville, etc. are impressive by any measure.

    Buffalo has the potential to be a perfect city in America if bucrasy and corruption among politicians and governors can come to and end.
