    One of the key things is the angle at which they run the vertical by splitting the defenders. Plus, the QB being in sync with the WR’s landmark when he makes the throw. Hooker does a good job of knowing where the WR will be when he throws it. Last year they missed a lot on overthrows. They even missed a TD on a 4th Down against Bama on an overthrow. Takes a lot of practice to build the rapport between QB and WR

    One of the best performances from a WR in the history of college football. That fourth TD was an absolute dart from Hooker too

    Qb is also doing a great job of keeping the safety's out of position just by his looks, you did hit on it a bit, but yeah. The qb takes one of the safety's on several plays out of the play completely just from him looking off where he intends to throw

    GREAT STUFF Coach! I'm always amazed how much of an influence Mouse Davis has on today's passing game!

    The play at 5:00 against Bama is the classic Go concept out of the run and shoot system. Go is mainly ran out of trips but UT motions the 3rd receiver for that reason. Along with making it look like a key screen as well. Most defenses look for the screen or the fake screen pump and go. By time the secondary realizes what’s going on, the choice receiver is already past them.

    One thing that is a common denominator in each of these big plays and a necessity for giving this scheme time to develop is winning the battle up front our OLine cannot get enough credit for giving Hendo time to make these throws and time for our WR's time to get open. Gonna be key for UGA to force Hooker outta the pocket.

    Great stuff coach. Everything is explained simply, but effectively.

    For these deep route schemes that means the O-Line is holding strong for 3+ seconds which is long! Especially against SEC D-Line

    I think a lot of people aren't addressing the fact that TN gave out 2 Td's and this very well could have been a 14 point win at the least against Alabama.

    Looks a lot like Baylor when Briles was there.

      It is a lot of the same stuff. Heupel did a lot of this way back when he was at Mizzou and before Briles got canceled at Baylor

      It's influenced by that yeah. He never worked with Briles directly (probably a good thing for his career prospects) but he was at OU while Briles was at Baylor and picked up the deep choice stuff from a guy (whose name I forget) who had worked at Baylor previously. It fit really well with the sort of up-tempo/spread-iso stuff he was doing before.

    Does not matter what they run but can you stop it. Speed kill’s. Go Vols Everyone thinks it’s easy to run but we have had 3 QB’s leave. It’s not that easy because they couldn’t run the system. You got to know 😅your play’s and be in shape.

    So how do you stop it?

    • @knoxvillepredatorcatcher3459
      @knoxvillepredatorcatcher3459 Год назад +7

      Only way to stop it really is getting pressure on the QB and force him to make a bad read or shut down the run game. 3 of 5 tds against bama were off of playaction.
