Yes, it is applicable, however just try emulating the repacked zip file to avoid any problems

The paint portrait is different for different images. So, just expand your picture and fit it in the portrait.

Sorry Juan, I haven't tried it with Qualcomm yet. Why don't you try extracting the device rom, change the logo file and repack the same.
