As all his fans painfully know, Colin was tragically taken from us on 26 January 2016. But he left a legacy with such a huge back catalogue of great songs, recorded performances & memories; he was a master of the #LoveSong - whether a high energy rouser or the slowest of #ballads; he had his trademark voice - often described as "silky smooth" or #VelvetVoice; and he was such a lovely bloke who never strayed too far from his roots, just his record companies' demands. Colin never had the wider appreciation & commercial success his talent deserved, but his many dedicated fans know he is a truly great #SingerSongwriter, one of the very best of his (& our) generation. As an #InMemorian #InMemory tribute, I have been pulling together some of Colin's favourites & the fans' - your - favourites, and posting them via #Twitter using the following hashtags: #ColinVearncombe (that unusual name he thought was a cross to bear, now an advantage!) #Black #JustMakingMemories It would be great if you shared your very favourite tracks & videos as part of the tribute. On the #anniversary of his death (26/1/2016) & the anniversary of his beautiful #MemorialService at the #Liverpool Anglican Cathedral (19/2/2016), it would be a fitting tribute for us to share these two videos on your social media: #BlackIsTheColourOfHope (dedicated to Colin by Chris McDonald & Rod Da Rosa) ruclips.net/video/_f0Lv8jmnI4/видео.html #WonderfulLife (the song he fell in & out of love with but was proud of at the end) ruclips.net/video/TVD9lo2FLLc/видео.html As in the song sung so beautifully at Colin's Memorial Service by Chris & Rod: "I just felt so cheated you were taken too soon...tonight a thousand voices will be crying out for you...because you made Black the colour of hope...you keep playing on for us, so we'll keep playing on for you".

this is the 1984 version :-)
Where can we hear the 1982 version?

I'm searching lyrics of Stephen, same album, I don't find nowhere...
I'll upload it to my channel shortly, I'm uploading the lyrics of many of his songs.
Great track. This is the second version. I have the original on 45.
p.s. The original is a more stripped-down piano version which I much prefer. Can't find it anywhere online so maybe I'll have to upload it myself.
can you upload it? The version 1982.

I think his genius was enshrined in the song 'Wonderful Life' which Ace of Base made a monster hit.
I remember someone covering it but it wasn't Ace of Base. Beautiful Life was their own song

What a loss.
Does anyone have the lyrics of this song? I've tried to find but it seems to be impossible... =(
@Luciana, here's the
More Than The Sun Lyrics:
Release my hands
Put them where they should be
On night of sighs mutually
The candles and sights of your paints
Oh how things used to be
Makes it hard at me
See my face
It must be a grief
Of the horror
That she'd said she'll become
But not when she set me free
Were it meant to hurt
What it means to heal
More than the sun
More than the sun
More than the dreams that she hide
The cause is secret
I never lay it back
I have my head so full of pride on
You don't fill up the past
Feel my eyes
And not how they should be
The crossing of her burn upon my face
Just like they said they'd be
When she'd finished with me
It's how she'd meant to be
More than the sun
More than the sun
More than the dreams that I hide
More than the sun
More than the sun
More than the dreams
Wow!!!!! Amazing! Thank you very much!!
You're welcome
