- Ingredients:
- Chicken legs/thighs (cut into bite-sized pieces)
- Salt
- Ground white pepper
- Cooking oil
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- Sliced ginger
- Garlic cloves
- 4 tbsp cooking wine (or rice wine)
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- Dark soy sauce (optional, for coloring)
- 1 tbsp rock sugar
- Basil leaves
Instructions:
1. *Marinate the Chicken 🐔*
- Cut the chicken legs/thighs into bite-sized pieces.
- Marinate the chicken with salt and ground white pepper.
- Let it marinate for 20 minutes.
2. *Prepare the Aromatics 🍲*
- In a pot over medium-high heat, add some cooking oil and 2 tbsp of sesame oil.
- Add sliced ginger and garlic cloves. Sauté until fragrant.
3. *Cook the Chicken 🍗*
- Add the marinated chicken to the pot and pan-fry both sides until golden brown.
- Add 4 tbsp cooking wine (or rice wine), 3 tbsp soy sauce, and optionally a bit of dark soy sauce for coloring.
- Add 1 tbsp rock sugar.
- Simmer for 20 minutes.
4. *Add Basil and Serve 🌿*
- Add basil leaves and stir until they wilt.
