Ubi, morally you are right but legally you are wrong. Both of you made mistakes. In case of next time, since Iyanya said he has nothing to do with Teckno promo, you should have made a document with Iyanya outside what you have as partners that says, Teckno bills and promo are on me. If he fails I bear the lost and if he succeeds I take the gain since am the only one putting money on him, That is what you should have done. Always keep friendship out of business. Money and friends are like oil and water. They don't go together.
Hmmmm! It seems guys did not read between the lines well, let Nigerian police handle this case, the truth will come out clearer. 1. How can you have a business together and you now use your personal money to fund runs? 2. What happens to the petty cash documents that he is holding on to, how do they reconcile accounts? 3. After reconciliation account what was the amount left and how was it shared? At least that amount should be shared equally. 4. From time immemorial, individuals can register a company not only through a lawyer, but I am also saying this because I did register a company in 1999 without a lawyer and I am not a lawyer. I am surprised that such a statement is coming from a lawyer, Ubi, (suspicion 1). 5. This part is the funny part. Your buddy says please, take care of business and I focus on bringing the money (music) then that means he is not interested in the business yet, documents were brought and he signed. That sounds suspicious. We know without the music, there is no business. 6. One thing that is not clear to me is that, did Iyanya sign any document that brought money from the bank with the fake documents? Then, he is faulty and has been lying too. Now, going back to Iyanya's interview... 1. Iyanya said he actually went to CAC to confirm that his name was not one of the directors of the company, he never mentioned that he got to know when they wanted a facility from Access bank. 2. I said reading in between lines, Iyanya said he signed once and not the September document so, how did they get the signature? So te changing of the name of documents that have not been submitted. If a mistake was made, it could have been corrected and sent back for the signature to be appended instead of using a pen. CAC documents are sensitive and should not have been handled with levity.
@@ahmadbaba4212I don't understand what you mean but if you are talking about company registration. I said I did register a company without employing the use of a lawyer. What prove do you need for that? Every other points I talked about are from what both of them presented before us. You see, one way or the other some of us have been betrayed by friends and family members that like Iyanya and we had to let everything go just like Iyanya did. We have been in Iyanya's shoes and know how things pan in this kind of situation. You can see Ubi appealing to Iyanya that he still loves him because he knows who the cash cow is. Remember, Iyanya said Ubi came to his room kneeling down, begging him that it was a mistake to have put his brother and another friend's name as directors... Well, I believe Iyanya has learned his lessons and with look out for details in whatever he wants to do or put his hands. I wish both of them luck in their future endeavors.
You signed a partnership with Iyanya, but you signed Tekno without his approval (first strike). Yes, you might have believed in the talent of Tekno but you did this without your partner's consent (second strike.) You accrued bills and had debts in trying to promote Tekno, Iyanya still wasn't aware (third strike), so who owns this debt now? You? Or both you and Iyanya? Legally, that debt is for both of ya. Iyanya comes to you for his gain from Tekno and you refused and said he never was in support and never put a penny? Bruh, you said you're a lawyer but you're crafty af. You should know better. Them bills are both for y'all and Tekno's gain is for y'all. Iyanya was right along. FOH
Bakhita Nzeribe very valid points, serious mistakes by both parties with Iyanya being obviously quite naive and Ubi flouting some of rules of a partnership business. It is difficult to judge both of them because of the obvious challenges of starting and running a business in Nigeria but I agree that Uni should not sign an artist to Business that’s jointly owned and funding the artist without expecting to share the profit 50/50. One way around it would have been to sign Tenno under a completely new legal entity or have a charge back mechanism for costs incurred on the current business for both parties to be able to recover their costs.
Bakhita Nzeribe Ubi was entitled to recovering his out of pocket expenses first and then splitting the excess over his expenses 50/50 with Iyanya. Ubi’s fault was initially withholding everything. That said, Ubi presented evidence showing that he split a certain amount 50/50 with Iyanya but Iyanya directed his proceeds to clear some bills outside triple MG.
This is a classic case of two business partners who came together to start a company but one feels he's putting in more work than the other hence he deserved to be compensated more, dude you shouldn't have signed the agreement with Iyanya in the first place because as long as the job functions are not clearly stated then the agreement is binding no matter who puts in more work and makes things happen. I almost had a similar situation in the past and I swore never again to start a company with anyone...the heart of man is desperately wicked especially those you call 'friends'!
I was saying the same thing whilst listening. So poor. They cut him off too many times and asked stupid questions over and over again. For e.g they should have asked him where he got the money that he used to invest in Tekno? If the money came from MMMG, then Inyanya should have gotten his shares from Tekno without much brouhaha. But if it was his personal money, then Inyanya had no claims.
Too broad of a statement, alot of them were not even born in naij!! alot of it is not.... i dont know about uncle dotun.. but people like Toolz have live abroad for just as long as they have in naij.
I see Ubi as a business man who doesn’t mind to take risk either he lose or gain but Iyanya is not a business man does not like to take risk especially with money
This Dotun dude needs to work on his interviewing skills......Kemi was more coherent and would have done a better job alone. This is what happens when u try so much to impress with fake accent and that hair just looks awful......#Justsaying #Nohate
Uwagboe Richard Ebohon The whole interview is diluted everyone is some1else, daddy freeze coulda shook this UBI guy cos he’s body language speaks fluently in lies... he should accept and apologize and stop tryna be right coz he looks hella stupid.
From all indications This guy is making up stories! You can notice in his countenance he doesn’t like it when they find a fault with his story and stop him for some quick questions he just want to tell his story without interruption. And for everything you said I can’t get myself to believe that a broke you on the left a made p square on the right and upcoming iyanya in the middle and he chose to go with you without hoping life time partnership in the company? Bruh say something else! You just used the face and talent of the dude to establish yourself in greed!
I am not a fan of any of these guys but if your partner says he's not interested in something why go ahead? You cant manage a new artist under the same company that you have 50 percent approval. Vision at that point was different. Ubi spoke himself here that the bank gave money because Iyanyas name had to be in the picture, makes him very important regardless of your genius in scouting talents. Means Signing of tekno to mmmg was illegal. It showed ubi rode on the platform created by 2 people to sponsor his agenda. Imagine Psquare signed iyanya from day 1... no mmmg and no tekno. Iyanya is an artist and he showed he doesnt want to be smart, he just wants success, good enough but Ubi should have just started another company with his personal money if there was such. I see an opportunist in business with a naive person , simple .
Seun Abodunrin bro you killed it; Iyanya was taken undue advantage of by this fraudulent minded fellow guy, Ubi. Iyanya was naive about business and fraudulent Ubi just rode to fame on It
I don't know how they started their business so i can only say from the things i heard in this video, first he said Iyanya doesn't like Tekno and didn't want to sign him but he ignored Iyanya's refusal to sign tekno and did it all by himself, he said he borrowed money to shoot Tekno's first video called dance and every dime he spent on Tekno was borrowed which he later settled with the money Tekno was making, that means he didn't spend his own money on Tekno, When he was asked whether he was giving Tekno his own share on share, he said he was using the money to settle all the money he took to shoot the videos and promote Tekno, Secondly, I am very sure that Iyanya appeared in that same video "dance" so my question is, why would Iyanya appear in that video to promote it when he doesn't like Tekno? And why would he appear in something he didn't put money on? Thirdly, if you know when Tekno started his music journey, Iyanya was like a brother to him, he was the guy taking Tekno to shows, he was the guy promoting Tekno, maybe you don't know this that was why you were quick to judge. You should have given a deep thought to everything Ubi said, the guy is not honest, Inyanya might not have put money on Tekno, but he put Tekno on the map, since Tekno was signed under MMG and excelled under MMG, why would Ubi claim all the profits on Tekno when the company is co-owned? Are you trying to say if you open a salon shop with your friend and wanted to start selling beauty cream but your friend doesn't want to do so in the same shop you co-owned with him/her, you'll go ahead and start selling beauty cream in the shop? That's a breach of contract, if you want to start another business, you need to do it in a different shop since your partner didn't give approval for you to sell in the shop. If you neglect him and do otherwise, he's entitled to ask for a share of every profit that comes out from the shop. That's simple logic
Daddy freeze should have done this interview. They duped my father with fact and prove. UBI I no blame u na iyanya I blame for allowing u use him through his music.
Ubi & iyanya had a binding contract so even if Ubi decided to pay from his pocket to push techno’s music, ubi is still bound by the contract to pay Iyanya his 50% share. He can not just decide what happens in the business on his own. Ubi should have been wiser to choose a business partner that can take risks that would benefit his company, not that I believe that Iyanya would be so dumb to say he is not interested in the business side of his music. In this day and age 😳 Haba something does not add up Ubi.......Drops pen 🙌🏻
Henrietta metieh unfortunately it isn't as simple as you have put it. In lay man terms 50% share holding is 50% of profits after tax. So yes Ubi was right to pay off operating expenses before before splitting any money.
@uchenna I totally understand, but if you heard what Ubi him self said , He said for about 5- 6 months he didn’t give Iyanya anything because he felt he was not entitled to it because he didn’t believe in the Tekno and as such failed to contribute to the venture. That’s my point. Except in the contact it has a clause that says if a partner does not contribute to push a business he would not get any earnings from it.
So I watched Daddy Freeze Interview with Iyanya, very clear, straight to the point, very slight addition, No subtraction, a little bit emotional...BUT, There are several accusations that still beats me... 1. Iyanya claims he signed a CAC document in 2012 as a director on the company, and he later found out that his name was not there. That document was changed to reflect Ubi and his brothers. 2. If you claim he clearly stated he doesn't want to be a part of the company, why do you have him sign documents as a partner when it comes to decision making. 3. From 2012 prior to when Iyanya found out, why didn't you tell him to true nature of the companies status. 4. Don't let me get started with the Teckno matter. 5. This comment is for Dotun and other OAP's.... I have said it severally, not all radio OAP's are trained as real Journalist and interviewers, American and British accent, is not a prerequisite alone to be an OAP... Mistakes a lot of private radio stations still have... I wish Freeze handled this interview, I think this dude would have been caught in his own rope... Last Last we go all dey alright...
I see how you whittled down Iyanya's stupidity. Why will he refuse to sign a partnership and when he did why didn't he check before signing. Please don't excuse his lack of business acumen. He was lucky the banker bailed him out.Iyanya just discovered that he can not continue to be a hit maker forever so his eyes cleared.I wont be surprised he does not have ownership of 'kukere' like Rkelly does not have on 'I believe I can fly'.My grouse with Ubi was signing Techno against his partner's permission. He should have just incorporated another company.
If you listen with an informed mind you will realize that Ubi Franklin is saying the truth. The business contract was faulty from the point where he made Iyanya a co owner with 50/50 sharing agreement Based on the above agreement, if Iyanya is paid 1 million Naira for a show, he gets 700k, the music label gets 300k and he still gets 150k as his share for being a shareholder. No arrangement is made for costs of running the company or making the money. This is a bad business practice. Ubi admitted that at a point he didn't pay Iyanya the 50% from Tecno's revenue. That shows honesty on his part. When Iyanya left the record label, he was supposed to split his earnings from endorsements with Ubi and the company. He didn't do this. This means that both of them didn't abide by the terms of the contract 100%. For me, with this arrangement Ubi was being cheated. He was basically slaving for Iyanya. He did the right thing by ending the partnership. I think both gentlemen were not lying in their respective interviews, one man just didn't understand the workings of music as a business and that man was Iyanya. He expected too much
I don’t know you, but God please you. I thought it was just me that realized how bad this contract was even for Ubi. Cos the money due to the label, Iyanya was still getting 50%.
Documentation is the foundation of every business , They might have had their issues but Iyanya,s reaction was borne mostly out of not being giving attention as an artist , co owner and out of emotion ...In Business you don't give into emotions ,you have to do what's good for the business .Iyanya is talented artist ,but not grounded in business ....Ubi Franklin is a business man . I hope this experience would help Iyanya in his career with other Managers ,he too should be involved and also keep records .. I also hope they both put this issues behind them and be good friends... I wish them best of luck
Well, this should be a huge eye-opener for you guys - Ubi and Iyanya. There are things you don't do in a joint venture or corporate enterprise. Irrespective of how competent you are as a manager, you cannot be above the board. Despite that Iyanya didn't show interest in Teckno, that does not change the status of the business contract as being co-owned. Ubi, you ran the business as a manager, as such, you are obligated to account and report to the board irrespective of your personal contributions. However, and where necessary, you could demand for a refund of private costs you incurred on behalf of the enterprise, and the proceeds thereafter be shared duly according the terms of the business contract. Anyway, like I said initially, both of you should learn from this. Mistakes made, lessons be learned.
Bartholomew Ukwuoma u just said it all, d interviews could have pressed for this obviously, they were too soft on him and cutting him off . He played iyanya big time
You got it right bro, anything he spent on personally can be regarded as loans to the business and taken out. But remaining profit should be shared equally with Iyanya not 145k out of 30m. Iyanya should sue his ass
Ubi has a PhD in fraud, since you could make your brothers share holders, what stops you from just putting his name there as a share holder. And you claim he said he didn’t want to part of it
No dear....from what i see he is a pure, smooth buisness man and to survive in the business world u need to be really smart and properly documented. Iyanya shld bring proof aswell
@@amakaifenkwe7716 Iyanya had nothing to prove. He had no single document to prove all the statements he made. Iyanya is just operating based on sympathy unfortunately, business has nothing to do with emotions and sympathy.
Eloho O Iyanya didn’t have any document yes, but at that point for a young artist who wants to just make a name for himself in the industry and he trusted Ubi as his friend and brother, Ubi should look out for him but telling us that iyanya said he is not interested in signing the CAC is too true to believe. I still stand Ubi is a smooth scammer and had all planned out knowing this day will come and took advantage of iyanya’s desperation. Simple
Iyanya forgot this is the real world. He didn’t want any part of business talks. He got what he deserved. Life doesn’t reward more than what you invest. He was emotional and needed to quit. He thought he made this guy but he was wrong.
Hey Ubi, you know without Iyanya’s face, there wouldn’t be no MMMG. And him not wanting you to sign Tekno doesn’t have anything to do with him not liking the dude.
Gushhhhh... this is not how to interview some1 in allegation matters. U should have let him run down his side of the story then u can ask him questions.
Now, we all can be sentimental about all issues; but the fact is that Ubi Franklin is a Lawyer by education and profession. And all these reflected in all his dealings with Iyanya. This guy set up businesses, at different times with all documented proofs. In a court of law, it's a popular saying that it's not what you know, it's what you can prove. I think Iyanya's mistakes was typical of many Nigerian artistes; whose focus always is Baba...I wanna Blow. Everything else, they don't focus. We have seen Kiss Daniel, and co also exploited. It's high time they got some education with their being "Blow". Osagie Alonge has addressed this so much on his now rested program...Facts Only! And a company is just like a vehicle to conduct businesses, so if two parties have a company; and one refused to put money in for investments....we all know business is risks taking. If you don't venture into risks why do you wanna share in the profit? Now, my question is...If Teckno has failed as a project and Ubi has loads of uncleared bills; would Iyanya have agreed to bring money out of his pocket to defray the costs? Come on men, we should be real. Ubi Franklin even admitted without Iyanya, he wouldn't be where he is today. Come on men, that's a real man. Iyanya was a bit careless, un-business-like, and should get some education. Many courses are online today!!!
Ubi is wrong, you can't have a joint business and still be running it like it's a one man business. You used him because of his ignorance of business technicality
Holuwa phemmy hr wasn’t used, do your research before going into business . Document transaction and contracts there is no such thing as word of mouth in business
CoolFM, not every OAP is cut out for an interview this complex. Know the strengths and weaknesses of your OAP's and pair them accordingly to avoid disappointing interviews like this one. Shoutout to Kemi.
Dickson Udoh he wasn’t arrogant he just trusted the wrong person & oblivious. When he went to Abuja CAC and didn’t see his name he should’ve went straight to his lawyers.
RReyCam 237 I respect ur opinion which is fact too but rewind 4years prior there relationship was a very brotherly one.. Ubi studied law Iyanya was an artist, an artist worries about his art which Iyanya was more tuned to but Ubi saw the bigger picture from his educated projections. All am saying is if he loved Iyanya he could hav forced him to sign CAC and make Iyanya thank him later.. instead he featured his brothers on the most important part of the business “CAC”, nah mehn that’s fowl play.. I believe if I can I will forced my brother to do what would be of benefit to him rather than him “Iyanya” realizing how ignorant he was causing this choas.. that’s y he’s a smart thief period
Cyn 137 some findings can shock you my bro! And when the shock hits u, u loose focus. He was broken cos he didn’t expect none of that in the first place from he’s so called brother “ubi”.. Iyanya was just tunned to the wave of his artistry and UBI benefited from it cos he was one step ahead with the advantage of he’s education.. if you listen to this interview UBI had goood timing for his moves so his a honorable thief Abeg..
@@dikystayfly what makes Ubi a thief? I listened to both of them completely and i'm still to see where Ubi cheated him based on these two interviews. Iyanya wanted fame and fast money. Ubi is a business man.
Black Diamond237 they were supposed to be brothers, without Iyanya der will be no UBI and der are countless ways UBI could hav managed the business without all this transpiring but he was selfish.. Iyanya is an artist so he will focus on his artistry and remember all this was 4years ago when Dey had nothing, so it’s definitive Iyanya wanted fame cos the fame brings the money UBI set up the business on..
I don't know this interviewer's educational background but.........he simply needs to streamline his interviewing skills and probably his corporate law understanding
Iyanya said in his interview with Freeze that you brought him a CAC paperwork to sign and he did signed it. But you went ahead to submit a different paperwork to CAC...You better come clean man...Why you be lying like this🤦🏾♀️
Balogun Damilola Iyanya said it all, this guy Ubi is a crook I know much on this case yrs back!! This is why his wife will never go back to him..He is a bad boy
Why do you want to eat from something you never invested in ubi should be happy he left uninterested business partner is the worst thing that can happen to a company.
Iyanya first said he wasn't interested in the music aspect and later said he just wanted to improve his career.... This Ubi guy sha,...e talk nor just dey make..
On one side Iyanya have some rights to be angry and that's due to the fact that he was the main brand of Made Men Music and a Co Owner and he didn't make any much from the products released from the platform due to the fact that Obi said he didn't invest. Now tell me why didn't Obi create a different platform for his own side hustle because he knows it possibly wouldn't fly. They both didn't handle things properly. Iyanya Just want to focus on music, Music is Business and Obi was a step ahead from my point of view.
Inyanya never wanted to invest on Tekno cus he was scared tecno would pass him, he was seeing tekno as a competition while ubi was seeing tekno as a commodity to mk money
I believe Ubi should have taken time to explain to Iyanya the implication of saying he does not want to do business, you could have made him understand perfectly his position. But for animosity in Ubi's mind that Iyanya suddenly want to leave his management i believe Ubi was already thinking of post Iyanya from the begining, circumstances made Iyanya become a stong part of the label. Ubi is just a business man who sees what others aren't seeing but hoping they fail before he could point it out to them... Iyanya was your partner you must explain and if possible back it up with legal pappers. If your proceeds from Iyanya wasn't running things around in the coy you (since you are trained legally) you could have signed an agreement that released Iyanya from the proceeds of Tecno since he as a partner has refused to meet his responsibility as one.
he saw Iyanya as not a smart guy so he wanted to a smart Iyanya by bringing his brother into the business now nemeses has caught up with Ubi ....Though Iyanya too like women that his is problem that`s why his not smart
Its a cold world, there must be a betrayal .Ubi is a coperate scammer .Now ,you have upper hand than Iyanya.Poor iyanya.People should be wise on making decisions.
Ubi have implicated himself by saying he didn`t give Iyanya money of what he make off Techno....with this Iyanya can use it against him and win the case .Mr Document Ubi when Iyanya said he won`t put money into Techno Career why dont u both sit down and put it on a paper ?For God sake it was Iyanya money u guys both use to build the company his entitle to every dime under that record label
Terrible interviewers!!! Daddy freeze let Inyanya speak. Why cut this guy off all the time? Both Dotun and this girl were just acting ignorant. I heard more from them than Ubi. Complete waste of time BTW, If you didn't invest, why do you want to harvest? Was Inyanya expecting Ubi to give him reward from Tekno despite financing him alone? Well, Ubi's mistake is not creating a different company to manage Tekno. If all these are true.
Ubi Franklin stated facts backed up with legal documents so how is that fraud? Iyanya was not alert and totally ignorant unfortunately, ignorance is not an excuse.
@@cyn1373 Obviously you have no idea what it takes to set up and run a business legally. Can you even define what "Fraud" is? Ubi clearly stated facts all backed up with legal documents.
The interviewers especially Dotun already had a strong mindset about Ubi and maybe dotun is iyanya's padi, cos most times he's interrupting him like he just caught a lie
This Dotun guy I hope he reads this comment session to know how he messed up the interview... I couldn't flow with the interview because of your interruptions...ah!! Let him speak so we can judge the truth ourselves!!!!!
The guy probably did not see Iyanya as a partner. He keeps saying I paid, I gave, I signed, I decided, bla bla bla. He still does not understand that the company's moneys belong to the company and not just him. This is a a big mess!
Ubi.........if u ever read this comment .........it obvious u don't keep proper books. An audit of your books will help sort out the knotty issues between u both. Using personal funds for business- how was it booked ? So many defects in your structure - employ the service of a professional Accountant!
Yo!, why's the camera moving right, left and center... The interview started like they had almost no time for questions, but it ended being a 1hour+ interview, with too many iterated questions and no basis of clarity.. It was all over the place guys.
Did Iyanya have knowledge of your bros been partners? Do you have a financial audit of income generated from the company from the said period of partnership? Was Iyanya well briefed as to the legal implications of all the company dealings, documentation etc? If he is getting a 70/30 deal from management, then it means invariably he should be making more money than UBI. cause the joint partnership as regards MMMG is 50/50, Management is 70/30 Also kudos on the tekno project, in as much as you carried all the burden or responsibility, legally speaking you owed him profit from Tekno. What could or should have transpired is the half split of all Tekno’s offsetting Bills as regards promotion etc and then ask Iyanya to pay for half of what you had to put in as regards Tekno’s project. So Far Iyanya has been ignorant and nonchalant about business. I think You should have lectured Iyanya properly as a friend and as a business partner behind close doors. Also I feel iyanya has to learn how to separate business from personal relationships. By the way I love your 96.9 Logo design. The bottom right one...
You have to pay off the bills before counting profits before you can split 50/50. And I don’t care what contracts say, you can’t reap where you didn’t sow.
Ubi is experienced, he took advantage of Iyanya's naivety. The interview is an eye opener. I learnt a lot. Pay attention to details in business, Iyanya was all about the music, Ubi was money.
I introduced my friend to someone for business back in Unilag days. Executed he pretended to me nothing happened, fellar whom I introduced made me understand it’s all done and dusted, thanked me, my guy still pretending to me nothing going on, I called him and told him courtesy should tell you am the striker here, but I allowed you, just 10%, he was shocked how I knew he striked the deal. Henceforth I banished him from my heart, till date, if am poor today he will never pick me up, but if he was I would have. From this interview and what I watched from Inyanyan’s one non biased we can justify the truth. Ubi’s trembling alone shows he’s failed. I love transparent people. And Daddy Freeze should have done this. Iyanya Sky you limit. My opinion. You guys can shake hands after all these allegations. 🤝🤝🤝
Funny thing is he said Iyanya wasn’t part of mmmg yet when he went to get investments & loans Iyana was the back bone. That’s the only reason he was able to secure a loan. Ubi is dishonest , greedy & untrust worthy, the only mistake iyanya made was not taking legal action when he saw the CAC form was swapped. If he did, all ubi transactions & assets will be grounded and frozen.
Firstly, Psychologists feedback on the body language of the UBI man would tell a lot. He has bagged a lot of lies from his gesticulations. Secondly, the Interviewers did an extremely poor job on this one, the Lady obviously a bit better off than the blonde hair OAP. They may be good at their jobs on other days, but this one was really bad. Interviewers should be in control of their interviews on topics and create close/open-ended questions with right timing which was missing here. There are other OAPs that can do better than this. So my verdict here is that it is inconclusive to me because of the allegations and accusations made by Iyanya were not really addressed. A better interview is needed.
Watching this interview clearly states a lot of Nigerian signed artists do not understand what music business, or even being part of a record label entails. Firstly, you can't blame ubi because he understood the business of music and used it to his advantage. When you run a partnership business, you're both entitled to all the profits and losses of the business, from what he said about signing tekno to the record label without iyanya's go ahead, that was what iyanya should have fought from the start which means involving his lawyers as that wasn't part of the contractual deal. I think a lot of these artist get overly excited at signing contracts when there is a lump sum of money involved and do not care about the legal side of things which is even more important that deal itself.
Koffi Jerry if I were to sign a contract with a lump sum of money, firstly, I will get legal advice and get my lawyers involved. With or without a lump sum of money involved in whatever they signed, regardless of them starting together. Clearly, you would see ubi has all the facts and figures and that’s because he understood the business. When you’re involved in any business whatsoever you don’t bring sentiments into it. Hence, why you need to document and follow -up any thing relating to your contract as an artist. Am not saying ubi is in the right but he used the knowledge he has to get what he wants. And that’s what a lot of artists need to know that it’s more than the contracts. If iyanya has all these figures and receipts he would take him to court rather than granting interviews.
Very poor interviewers. Let your interviewee just talk and not cut him short at the middle of him talking and don't ask so much questions same time. It's one after the other. Punks!
I find it quite hard to go along with this narrative of Iyanya not being interested in the company and signing other artists. I am more inclined to believe that Iyanya opted for a division of labour whereby each partner would contribute to the business from their position of strength. Iyanya wanted to focus on making music which is his strength and talent while Ubi took care of the business of running the company. Being an artist is already a hard enough job so if Iyanya would be making music and also be in charge of running the company, what part would Ubi be playing to justify his partnership in the business and his earnings?
Ubi, morally you are right but legally you are wrong. Both of you made mistakes. In case of next time, since Iyanya said he has nothing to do with Teckno promo, you should have made a document with Iyanya outside what you have as partners that says, Teckno bills and promo are on me. If he fails I bear the lost and if he succeeds I take the gain since am the only one putting money on him, That is what you should have done. Always keep friendship out of business. Money and friends are like oil and water. They don't go together.
Ahmad Baba my opinion exactly, people calling ubi a cheat is quite unnecessary because iyanya was quite greedy himself.
@@uyomiama8621 Not really babe, I don't see it that way. Iyanya didn't see the future that's all.

He said dey were not partners from the start
Valid points bro!
Dotun is a terrible interviewer omg !!! Forced accent and irrelevant interruptions omg leave the man let him talk
aydottt Aydot facts 😂
This is a classic case of two business partners who came together to start a company but one feels he's putting in more work than the other hence he deserved to be compensated more, dude you shouldn't have signed the agreement with Iyanya in the first place because as long as the job functions are not clearly stated then the agreement is binding no matter who puts in more work and makes things happen. I almost had a similar situation in the past and I swore never again to start a company with anyone...the heart of man is desperately wicked especially those you call 'friends'!

I dont know how they got jobs as interviewers
I was saying the same thing whilst listening. So poor. They cut him off too many times and asked stupid questions over and over again. For e.g they should have asked him where he got the money that he used to invest in Tekno? If the money came from MMMG, then Inyanya should have gotten his shares from Tekno without much brouhaha. But if it was his personal money, then Inyanya had no claims.

@@lucasomon1157 the fact that many people are leaches these days is crazy.. that's how club escape shut down.
Daddy Freeze, pls u have to repeat this Interview. These two are headach. They are just asking questions without allowing Ubi to respond
Iyanya couldn't co sign tekno bcus he was seeing tekno as competion while ubi was seeing him as a profitable commodity.
ND u are seeing documents as proof , you chose to believe iyanya's words ?
Ubi & iyanya had a binding contract so even if Ubi decided to pay from his pocket to push techno’s music, ubi is still bound by the contract to pay Iyanya his 50% share. He can not just decide what happens in the business on his own. Ubi should have been wiser to choose a business partner that can take risks that would benefit his company, not that I believe that Iyanya would be so dumb to say he is not interested in the business side of his music. In this day and age 😳 Haba something does not add up Ubi.......Drops pen 🙌🏻
henrietta metieh believe me he was dumb... dumb blonde.
You'rev right. Regardless of Iyanya decisions on signing tekno he has is 50% cut from whatever when down.
@happening now..I still find it hard to believe that Iyanya would be that dumb, these days music artist are wiser

Maybe he didn't want Freeze
The business contract was faulty from the point where he made Iyanya a co owner with 50/50 sharing agreement
Based on the above agreement, if Iyanya is paid 1 million Naira for a show, he gets 700k, the music label gets 300k and he still gets 150k as his share for being a shareholder.
He expected too much
very objective analysis Mr.Obi E.
I don’t know you, but God please you. I thought it was just me that realized how bad this contract was even for Ubi. Cos the money due to the label, Iyanya was still getting 50%.
Blonde hair guy should never do interviews anymore. He puts on a show. The chick would have done better

Those were my exact tots during the interview- He didn’t allow the interview follow

Hey Ubi, you know without Iyanya’s face, there wouldn’t be no MMMG. And him not wanting you to sign Tekno doesn’t have anything to do with him not liking the dude.

Good question 😏 and why do most naija oap speak with a convoluted foreign accent 😏
There's no light in Nigeria. The gen is off
When I saw Paulo logo on Tekno Video I knew MMMG was in debt thanks to Ubi extravagance and Paulo gave them a lifeline
Many courses are online today!!!
you are on point, and to think that he read business management in school is very shameful at best.
U cant be stupid and be great.. Bro Ubi, I have learned alot from this. Thank you....👏👏👏

D-Ola3 facts and how is it that a company that was running for over 5 years didn’t make profit? He mis used the funds or diverted it somewhere else.
Ubi obviously preyed on Iyanya’s ignorance to swerve him of his entitlement.
No.Iyanya was so so stupid. He also felt he was going to be a star forever.
If he is getting a 70/30 deal from management, then it means invariably he should be making more money than UBI. cause the joint partnership as regards MMMG is 50/50, Management is 70/30
Also kudos on the tekno project, in as much as you carried all the burden or responsibility, legally speaking you owed him profit from Tekno.
This interview is HORRIBLE! 🤦🏾♀️ Where is Daddy Freeze please?
You have to pay off the bills before counting profits before you can split 50/50. And I don’t care what contracts say, you can’t reap where you didn’t sow.
Happening Now the company made enough to pay the expenses & profit the share holders. He mis used the funds & ripped off everyone but himself
UBI is one the of the educated illiterate we have in Nigeria...iyanya is right
Wetin curse this fight in ur view
Very annoying male interviewer. so amateurish, impatient and incoherent. This was a debate disguised as an interview. Where is Daddy Freeze biko?
My take on this matter is best you put both on the table and let them talk it out live then we will know who is honest and who is lying. Period!
Ubi is experienced, he took advantage of Iyanya's naivety. The interview is an eye opener. I learnt a lot. Pay attention to details in business, Iyanya was all about the music, Ubi was money.
How is this Dotun an OAP? Abi he's doing I.T at cool FM?
Please speak with the Nigerian accent...
You can still be coherent and eloquent in it.
THIS GUY DON’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT CONTRACT LAW
These interviewers are the worst kind. Where in the world did they train these people?
Neddu1978 yabatech 😂
@@truth57174 you mean the backyard of yabatech. 😂
Keep quiet DOTUN! YOU ARE SO UNCOORDINATED!
The male interviewer on this show needs to improve himself. I will score his interview style 13%.
A better interview is needed.
but in truth, if he didnt forge signature, then he should sue iyanya, but he is not doing that so there is something amiss
Ubi is so blatant about being fraudulent. Find it really hard to even think that you had a legal background.
Who signed contract with lump sum of money? U? Bcus iyanya and ubi started from nothing and took a loan together
If iyanya has all these figures and receipts he would take him to court rather than granting interviews.
so all this celebrities living fake lifes on social media wen they leaving on debt to settle bills..
You just knew that. Where do u think the rest of us got the fake online lifestyle from.
Ubi Franklin is a fraud.iyanya was right.u have to be open in business with your partner
how unprofessional is this interview. why is the interviewer trying to do way too much
Aj Styles Aj!!!!
Very poor interviewers. Let your interviewee just talk and not cut him short at the middle of him talking and don't ask so much questions same time. It's one after the other. Punks!
When you keep saying irrelevant things it's ok to be cut
I find it quite hard to go along with this narrative of Iyanya not being interested in the company and signing other artists. I am more inclined to believe that Iyanya opted for a division of labour whereby each partner would contribute to the business from their position of strength. Iyanya wanted to focus on making music which is his strength and talent while Ubi took care of the business of running the company. Being an artist is already a hard enough job so if Iyanya would be making music and also be in charge of running the company, what part would Ubi be playing to justify his partnership in the business and his earnings?
