You look great 🧡 I lost just over a stone last year using Michael Mosley's Fast 800. I have a lot more confidence and feel healthier. A lot of people who have never struggled with their weight can be incredibly judgemental and thoughtless about the subject, so I think you're pretty brave talking about it.
Good on you Karen! You have done really well..... and I TOTALLY understand what you said about 'food noise' - that's my biggest problem too. I just love eating - and I look forward to my breakfast each morning! :)
Thank you for the update, I was wondering recently if you were still taking Wegovy and how you were getting on with it. I'm so thrilled for you that you have managed to lose nearly 2 stone - that's amazing, you look really great! Just wondering if you have you noticed any other other parts of your body apart from your tummy that have changed weight such as thighs, tops of arms, face etc? (my problem areas) Hope you continue to enjoy the benefits and also remember to feel proud of yourself because you still had to apply willpower, time and dedication alongside the medication and that's a huge personal achievement too x
Aww, what a lovely lovely comment, thanks so much! People have told me they can see a difference on my face and the other place I've noticed loss, but only in the past week, is my thighs. I haven't noticed in my arms particularly. x
Looking great Karen, I asked about Mounjaro for my weight(insulin resistance, fibromyalgia and menopause) but my gp and health board here(ayrshire and arran) refuse or are not yet giving the go ahead for its use in weight loss. I've written to Scot gov and my health board regarding this. Hopefully those of us who are suffering (not over eating) with our weight will get the help soon🤞
That would be great if it was available on the NHS! I haven't even asked as I know I don't meet the criteria. I get it privately but won't be able to afford forever. x
There are concerns over muscle loss contributing to the overall weight loss. I wonder if you have measured or noticed this or perhaps taken steps to mitigate it? Did you pay more attention to food quality e.g. plants and protein? Or did you literally eat less due to less cravings?
I think the muscle loss happens if the weight comes off too quickly, one of the reasons I'm happy to be losing weight slower. I also do yoga which is weight bearing and will help. I think I talked in my last video about how the plan was always to be more focussed on healthy eating but that's something I struggle with. So I have eaten less but also tried to be healthier. x
@michelles2299 anabolic stimulation is essential in the form of protein and weight lifting. Also we mustn't forget the wide benefits of vegetables for micronutrients, antioxidants and for the gut microbiome
I too have insulin resistance, though my GP has refused me Ozempic, stating there is such a chronic lack of it available, that only those with diabetes can get a script. I have an appointment with him next week and am going to discuss further or find another GP. The Metformin has helped me lose weight though, just not a lot.
@@TheBeautyMaverick Rare as gold here in Australia. Fingers crossed my gp gives me a script, or will doc shop til I find one that will! Ozempic is on our Pharma Scheme, but not Wegovy
While I have zero interest in the topic I still watched whole video to support you Karen. I hope the troubled girl who delayed traffic was saved and can rebuild her life.
I have to start wegovy next week. Can u do omad fasting while on wegovy. And still lose weight. It’s hard for me to do omad because of my big appetite. So I want fasting when I start losing the appetite for helping my body healing mechanism right now I love fasting but I can’t. What do u think wegovy and fasting?
Wegovy kind of lends itself to fasting to be honest, but it depends on how it affects you personally. I can't do fasting as I like to eat at least 3 meals and 2 snacks, plus I need to eat to take tablets throughout the day. That said, I could easily miss lunch on Wegovy or even breakfast as I didn't think about it till late today which is NOT what I'm like unless on Wegovy. Hope that helps somewhat. I don't see any issues fasting with Wegovy and it should help you as it reduces appetite. x
Hi Karen, this was an interesting video, you have to deal with so much medically don’t you. Re knowing what to wear for your shape have you ever watched Melissa Murrell here on RUclips? She is a personal stylist and is the best at it in my opinion. If you’re interested check out her body shape masterclasses, absolutely brilliant. I really want to wean myself off sugar I’m totally addicted, it’s so tough. Have a good week xx
Thanks all! Sadly, watching you tube is low on my list with the migraines and honestly, if I do have time/health then I'll watch educational health videos for either my own issues or Watson's lol. I feel like I do know what to wear for my shape, I just don't like my shape at that weight 🤣
dont you get insulin resistance from a poor diet? Idont eat any sugar and dont have any issues with my insulin. Also doesnt exercise helps with this - How does it work you stop being hungry? so you sugar intake is reduced? I find the whole thing odd that a medication stops you snacking and why people cant stop with being disciplined?
Karen talks about her medical stuff on her Life as a Zebra channel if you want to understand more about it. But if you don’t have time to check it out, the short answer is Karen has several medical situations that make weight management more complex for her.
Congratulations - I think it’s time that we stopped asking how someone has lost weight ans instead start being a cheer leader for those that are changing their lives. Thank you for talking about your journey
Insulin resistance is not caused by a poor diet, it is an inherited issue, and for me it's related to PCOS. It can no doubt be addressed with a diet of no sugar but that is something that is easier said than done (as I well know when I did Keto), when PCOS and Insulin issues create the very cravings that are causing the issue. Additionally, as I have chronic migraines (daily), exercise is very difficult. Showering is often a challenge, let alone exercise or imagining/making a healthy meal. I used "Discipline" and exercise before, when I wasn't chronically ill. That's the short answer. x
Thank you so much, that's really lovely and I totally agree. I decided it was more important to finally lose some weight having not managed it for many years, and the results have and will improve my overall physical & mental health which is always the goal :0) xx

I have lost 6 stone on Slimming World, not everyone's choice but it has worked for me - took me a year.
Wow, good for you! Staying consistent is so hard and you did it. 🤗

You have done really well. I find it so hard to lose weight. Can I ask where your necklace is from please? I love it!
Oh thank you! The necklace is actually from a little gift shop in Glasgow when we went for a walk with Watson, so sorry. x
@@TheBeautyMaverick that’s ok, thank you ☺️ I will keep an eye out for something similar x

Good point you have to lift weights for muscle maintenance or gain

Hi, did you have nausea or other negative side effects?
I talk about all this in the original video, I'll link it here but basically I had barely any side effects. ruclips.net/video/lvqHWlW9I1I/видео.html
