My friend and I played the heck out of this game as kids lol..could beat it no problem. Easy route to win is just Punch,Step back, Punch, Step back and repeat until they fall (3 or 4 hits). As long as you have enough space to step back the CPU will never hit you. Alternate from right to left side every time you knock them down to avoid backing into the ropes. After a couple cycles you can grapple if you want /drag them to your corner/ tag your partner when you get Power Up etc...or keep punching till they're done.
Apart from double dragon and golden axe, this was the only arcade game I pretty much mastered as a kid. I could win the rumble on just two credits. The few times I played on tag mode I could get all the way to legion of doom on one credit. But damn! LOD was solid. I'd have to pump atleast two or three credits to finish them. And that still stands today. I played last week and still needed to hit the credit button three times in the final match.
I think you mean if you accidentally press the buttons to set up the Doomsday Device since Hawk never climbs the rope to finish the move and the opponent remains stuck on Animal's shoulders. You can always avoid doing the move but it's kind of easy to mess up. I was hoping a hack could've been made that enables LOD to be picked by P1/P2 without a cheat and for the Doomsday Device to be programmed as a usable move by P1/P2 but it never happened.
@@wtcvidman Yes that’s correct lol. I hated that glitch so I’d always use Hawk to avoid it. I also wish Demolition would of had their tag finisher since LOD had theirs

You can't pick LOD without a cheat. They were never meant to be picked. It's like how you can't play as Ted Dibiase and Andre in WWF Superstars.
