I love that you can pick an old bolt out of a skip & see that it was handmade, how it was made & the blacksmith was right handed.
The work you are doing now will be looked over in 200 yr time and someone will do the same.
It took me a while to get used to the marks left by my hand tools, now I see them as makers marks.

interesting to see your process on the restoration side, I'd be fascinated to see more if you are up for filming it. I have seen the sutton hoo series you did which was also very cool but this is also an area of blacksmithing that I really enjoy ...actually if its very hot and theres metal involved I'm good.
