Very good advice. I suffer with depression also and I am trying some of the things you mention, especially spending some time with God. Since I have added much prayer and worshipping the Savior, I have been feeling much better in my moods. I am in much better spirits and I appreciate your realness. How can you tell when God is speaking to you? I pray, but I don't know if I can tell when God is speaking to me.
1NonlyChloé Hello how are you my love...there are 3 main ways that God speaks to us...1st and most importantly through His Holy Spirit(talk to the Holy Spirit asking Him to help you understand... the Holy Spirit only speaks through His authority from God-John 16:13) Another very important way God speaks is through His word("So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." When you read the word pray 1st and ask the Holy Spirit which is our teacher to guide you in all understanding.) The 3rd major way God speaks to us is thorough people which is the most tricky because we have to dicern whats of God because mans tongue is decitful-(James 3:1----)that's why we are told to lean not on our own understanding-(Proverbs 3:5-6). Pray and ask God to help you in any area you lack and God will give you an increase in those areas according to His will, way, and timing. Dont rush your progress just take it one day at a time. God will work on you for He is the potter and you are the clay-(Isaiah 64:8) Build your intimacy with God and seek Him with your whole heart. The best sacrifice you can give to God is not money(tithing),going to church, or any righteous deed but a contrite spirit willing to change (Psalm 51:17 and Psalm 50:9-14)..lol i can go on but i hope this helps...pray from your heart and not just your mind...Gods voice is still and quiet (1 King 19:12).."A whispered message assumes that the listener is in proximity to the speaker. The closeness required by a whisper requires that we are in close relationship with the Lord, aware of his presence and walking with him, poised to do what he says." clear your distractions and praise Him even when you cant see..faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1).
