I believe this will help to regulate the value of our corrency thus, improving the standard of living. Increment of salaries cannot address the issue in the country. You can never see the House of Senate go this way, making sense without Akpabio shutting them up. Labour should call for the harmonization of all salaries of politicians elected or appointed and the civil service at both Federal, State and Local Govt levels.
Akpabio is the worst thing in this senate. He is not for the interest of the masses. He does not care what happen to the citizens as long as he gas a fat pocket. Worst senate president 😂😂😂
The issue is not minimum wage or living wage alone. There is a cost of living crisis going on in the country. First the government should declare emergency on food security and massively engage in social intervention programs. The government should concentrate on the importation of food products, especially grains into the country to crash prices of food in the markets to reduce the high inflation rate and focus more attention on the agricultural sector. The federal government should as a matter of urgency collaborate with the various state governments and build farm settlements across the country. Concentrate on mechanized farming in order to feed the nation and Africa. If the president can show leadership in this direction, Nigerians are ready to work with the government.
Great speaker, use the speed used in passing national anthem to pass living wage bill. In addition the FAT and over loaded salaries and excessive amounts for all types of allowances not seen any where in the world to be scrapped. The greed is too much. Minimize it please.
NLC wouldn't have tempered with the national grid if the government had listened to them during negotiations and addressed the issues raised by the labour leaders accordingly
It is time we have mid-term elections in Nigeria. The excesses of our Senators and Representatives should be checked. The only problem is that INEC is too corrupt and inept to carry out free and fair elections.
The second speaker is more empathetic and very considerate. He articulated Nigerian workers plight and the need to salvage the existing crisis without further delay. With reasonable people like him at the helms of affairs in Nigeria, we will see considerable change in governance.
What you earn is too much compared to the country's GDP, debt ratio, minimum wage, standard of living, insecurity in Nigeria etc...you Nigerian senators are the most paid in the world, based on the indices I stated above.
Why should a senator or any political office holder earn a benefit package more than a permanent secretary in the civil service? Let it be debated for the sake of fair play.

Shutting down the national grid send down a strong message across the Nation, it's a welcomed development and if nothing reasonable is done in harmonizing the minimum wage across board, TUC and NLC should go on and do it again.
