The final Agni Kai is all of Zuko’s development in one moment and taking what Iroh said to heart about using the 4 elements as a whole. In his Fight he used all of the different martial art styles of each bending.
According to the rules of agni kai azula lost it the moment she attacked katara. If there would have been any referees around zuko would have been appointed the winner with that.

Comet boosted Agni Kai was an insane concept, seeing the power firebenders hold with that comet was so fucking insane when I saw the finale as a little kid, it’s still just as crazy every time I watch it. And you’re right, the Agni Kai as cool as it is, also contains somber music as it’s a brother versus a sister fighting with the intent to kill.
Well, maybe for Azula it was with Intent to kill, but definitely for Zuko, it was only to defeat, not kill. But yeah, agree with you in terms of comet-enhancement. What I'm wondering is what if the comet happened DURING an eclipse 😎😁😁
@@jdbm Zuko had no intent to let any opportunity to end it slip by. If that meant killing Azula, he would have taken it without hesitation. Oh, and the comet during an eclipse would do nothing. Firebenders still get their power from the sun. The comet just enhances it.
@@rendomstranger8698 are you sure about the eclipse not doing anything? Remember, firebenders lose their ability to firebend when a solar eclipse happens (day of black sun). They lose it for a couple of minutes as long as it's full eclipse. So how could the comet enhance firebending if there's nothing to enhance? 😶
@@rendomstranger8698 I reread your comment and I get your point. In my defense, your last sentence was confusing. It seemed to infer that the comet would still do something during an eclipse.
The coolest part (in my opinion) about the zuko vs azula Agni Kai is the fact that you can see zuko implement the different styles of bending into his own fire bending. I believe he uses earth bending defenses, air bending counters, and water bending offenses. It really shows what he’s learned along the journey with team avatar
What I liked about Zuko vs Azula is the attention to detail they put in. When Iroh taught Zuko about redirecting lightning he said to make sure to redirect through you stomach and not through your heart. When Zuko redirects the lightning to stop it from hitting Katara, you see the flashing of Zuko's upper chest, aka the heart.
The reason for the shocked look on Ozais face when aang redirects the lightnig is because he had only seen that once before. Done by Zuko, which meant that Zuko really did change sides and join Aang as he told his father
back in book 2 Iroh told Zuko studying the other Elements would make him stronger and if you watch him closely during the last agni kai he uses defensive stances similar to earthbenders and techniques that are similar to Aang's airbending. nice lil touch there and great attention to detail.
Sokka knows how to control an airship because he was on the prototype... which was built in the airtemple back in season 1. The fire nation merely improved on the prototype, but the basics were all there
oh yeah true, nice fact, I mean they getaway alot with characters just knowing how to operate complex devices in fiction but cool that this dose have a good explanation. This show is such a masterpiece
Not only is the scene with Iroh and the white lotus raw as fuck but it does give a great idea of just how strong firebenders got buffed. The walls of Ba Sing Sa had only been broken once with the drill and that took days to make a small hole but with the comet Iroh broke an entire section of the wall by himself with one attack.
There's one thing about the final Agni Kai that I cannot repeat enough. Any other show would've put some epic battle music over it to hype up the moment. Not ATLA though, because they know that this isn't some kind of triumphant victory. It's the end of a tragedy.
Zuko has some of the best character development in cinematic history. And I love his fighting in this duel. He fights like a bender from all The nations at once. He stands his ground like a earthbender, evades like a airbender, have The power and energi like a firebender and shifts and change between all The styles like a water bender. Its amazing. Iroh said "the combination of all The elements is what makes the avatar so powerful, but it can make you more powerful as well" I love we see irohs "breath of fire" in this episode. He always told zuko the power of firebending comes from the breath.
Idk but azula is definetely my favourite character in this series. If you understand her, her character is actually really deep, it's not just evil and crazy. She is the victim of her father, only know power and fear, being used as a weapon by her father since a kid. What she need is true love and be loved. And she realized she doesnt have that in the end. She can only imagined her mother loved her
The song that played at Zuko & Azula's final battle was slow and heavy and somber. The sound and voices were off and the sounds were muted. At first glance it looks like a battle between good and evil, but it wasn't. This was not a victory so matter who won. They were siblings raised by the same abusive father, and the result of that horrible upbringing forced them in what would have been a fight to the death. The fact that they had this duel was the tragedy.
This fight stands up years later as one of the best animated scenes for me. The emotion, the animation, the sound, it truly captures the peak of animation from all aspects. The character and world plot depth to all the actions, and what led to this just completes it. I'm so happy to see people still watch and enjoy it years later, it's truly a masterpiece.
Remember during the first battle of Ba Sing Se (in the show not the real first one) It took a whole MEGA drill just to siege the wall. Iroh During the comet: *Imma let myself in*
Zuko has a 2-1 records with Agni Kais. Defeated Zhao and technically won this because Azula broke the rules by attacking Katara. Only one he lost was the one he surrendered against his dad
Gotta love that slow music and muffled sound with the agni kai. For what supposed to be an epic final showdown its surprising how well it actually works
The final agni kai will forever be my favorite avatar fight. It has always been such a beautiful fight both visually and emotionally. Avatar will forever be an amazing and well written story 👏 Edit: it also has my favorite song on the entire soundtrack
I love how all of them had to face set back for everything to fall into place. The Last Agni Kai was sooo emotional. Can't wait for you to finish this epic show!
That scene where Toph is "Looking" at the fire, I.E. Sensing the heat.. That will always stick with me, the way it was animated, and how she spoke the lines.
IDK about you or anyone else, but this is definitely my favorite fight by far in the entire Avatar series! The sound, the animation of the flames, everything!
The firebending in this episode says a lot about their characters Iroh using his breathing to increase his power JeongJeong using water bending moves for his fire Zuko using the 4 elements moves for his fire Azula and Ozai's traditional firebending
The using of the music like a drama makes the scene even more epic. Because sadly at the end was a fighting between brothers and the destruction of a family.
im kinda a fan of avatar. i just happen to have over 25 full dvd sets of it just for the purpose of giving it to people i meet to get them to watch it.

The lightning passes through Zuko's heart as he redirects it. Like what Iroh said, it should pass through his stomach and not his heart, for the damage could be deadly.

She's only valuable to him as long as she is useful. Then Oazi basically gives her the meaningless title of Fire Lord as a participation trophy while he gives himself a new title and goes off to conquer the world by himself because he wants this day to be all about himself.
Frankly, one can only feel sorry for Azula, even if she is an annoying bitch. Yes, in the end it is her choice, but, given all the facts, I would say that this is more the fault of her father, who, by his actions, deprived a normal childhood and ruined the fate of both of his children. In fact, Azula is perhaps the most hapless character in this story. Not in the sense that she had the hardest time in life, for example Zuko was even harder and at the same time he retained kindness in his heart, but this does not detract from it. In addition, Zuko had Iroh and Ursa, and in many respects this is why he did not become the same as Azula, but Azula had no one, she lived all her life in a huge gray cloud, in a world where there was no one who would understand her. Delving into her story, you feel compassion for her. She is very similar to Naruto from the first season. The same soul rejected by society. But Naruto ended up in a good fairy tale, with a happy ending, but Azula's story treated her much harder( "History is not always kind to its heroes"
This show out of any other anime around the time really showed how powerful female characters are. Unlike Naruto, Bleach. Expect for Code Lyoko. Straight 🔥 that show was
