Thank you, I love your videos, can you tell me where I can get accurate information on how safe it is to use beans of plant "mucuna pruriens" as a dietary supplement as super low dose of L-DOPA, it seems that it helps me with my problems motivation/apathy/anhedonia/depression 😭, but I often see information on different sources that it is dangerous to use because it kills dopamine neurons 😔 due to excitotoxicity and radical loading and where the truth lies 😕 I tried SSRIs, they only took away the anxiety, but the apathy and anhedonia got much worse
So sorry for the very late response. I hope things are going well for you. I too had difficulty finding any sort of concrete answers. However, I have come up with some guidelines for you about the dosing: ALWAYS start low and raise the dose slowly over time! Also consider these factors: Lack of Standardized Dosing Guidelines: Unlike conventional medications, where doses are standardized based on extensive research, the dosing for herbal supplements like Mucuna pruriens can vary widely. Factors such as the concentration of active ingredients, the form of the supplement (e.g., powder, capsule), and individual differences in metabolism and response can all influence the appropriate dose. Individual Variability: People may respond differently to the same dosage of Mucuna pruriens. Factors like body weight, age, overall health, and the presence of other medical conditions can influence how a person responds to the supplement. Interactions and Side Effects: High doses of Mucuna pruriens, especially over a prolonged period, can lead to side effects, primarily due to its L-Dopa content. These side effects can include nausea, gastrointestinal disturbances, and potentially more serious neurological effects. Potential for Interactions with Antidepressants: If someone is already taking medication for depression, particularly those that affect dopamine levels, there is a risk of interactions. It's crucial to consult with a healthcare provider before combining Mucuna pruriens with other treatments. It is always best to use supplements like these under the guidance of a doctor or other qualified medical professional.
@@TheAnxiousResistance It seems that this relief of anhedonia was caused by stopping the SSRI, which as it turns out happens, then a month later the depression and anhedonia returned again and everything again became much worse I again returned the SSRI the depression went away but again the anhedonia became stronger and unbearable now I came to (Selegiline), rn I am experiencing improvements in terms of motivation and cognitive functionality, I also do not experience depression as much as without therapy at all... looks like im going somewhere at least
Thank you so much for sharing this info.
You are so welcome!
