yes actually i also realized that when i watched the episode. i always tend to watch these yt videos that kbs uploads on saturday night, i only watch the unit when it's subbed, every sunday. so i actually thought they did well watching their practice but the thing that just kept us disappointed is how they interpreted the song. they did it overcutely

The feeling I get from some performances were that they haven't thought about the original concept or what feelings the song was trying to evoke in the audience, thus leading to this broad characterisation of the song as either 'cute' or 'sexy', which is kind of disappointing since I expected more from debuted idols.

Not hating on anyone but i think they just exaggerating the cutesy style. I and suji is the one didn't exaggerate it. And lee suji doesn't suit this concept im pretty sure she's gonna slay the badass concept or boyish style but yebin is the only one slayed those vocals alongside with I. Jiwon tho she's so adorable but her voice is just okay

Yebin is definitely a ReVeLuv… Always kills me with her unique voice and personal talents. She is a hidden diamond of K-Pop. Hope the viewers of this show will find her.
Yoonji literaly saved the performance 0:40 and now she is leaving the show 'The Unit' acted passive aggressively toward her on purpose , i think Yoonji should have gone to Mix nine
at least we could see a little bit more of her talent ...just saying that i didnt see her at all in the episodes, she has no even 1 minute of screen time she deserve better
This performance made me go back and rewatch Red Velvet's red flavor stage again. No offense, it's just that this is way too over. Red flavor is a mostly fresh and clean song with probably a little bit of sweetness and cuteness in it. Not an overly trying to be cute and "aegyo" song like what they did here. I do think they are good vocals and rappers, then why don't just perform naturally, like the girl named "I" did. I don't want to say they ruined this song, but every time seeing performances like this makes me appreciate Red Velvet and their stage aura more (yes I am also referring to the rookie cover from Idol School).
JL January yes they are not red velvet. But is it hard to sing it in a natural way with normal expression? Nope- doing excessive aegyo & expression is harder. Hence, they should do it in a more relaxing way or with their own style. Overly cutesy concept only make the performance look cringe.
kix It actually wasn't their choice. They practiced it normally, but the trainer wasn't satisfied with them doing it just like Red Velvet, so they were told to work harder to be more appealing. Basically, their desperation was being called out. If they really wanted to be loved by the viewers, then they had to show it. And so we got this, lol.

And lee suji doesn't suit this concept im pretty sure she's gonna slay the badass concept or boyish style but yebin is the only one slayed those vocals alongside with I. This performance made me go back and rewatch Red Velvet's red flavor stage again. No offense, it's just that this is way too over. Red flavor is a mostly fresh and clean song with probably a little bit of sweetness and cuteness in it. Not an overly trying to be cute and "aegyo" song like what they did here. I do think they are good vocals and rappers, then why don't just perform naturally, like the girl named "I" did. I don't want to say they ruined this song, but every time seeing performances like this makes me appreciate Red Velvet and their stage aura more (yes I am also referring to the rookie cover from Idol School).
JL January yes they are not red velvet. But is it hard to sing it in a natural way with normal expression? Nope- doing excessive aegyo & expression is harder. Hence, they should do it in a more relaxing way or with their own style. Overly cutesy concept only make the performance look cringe.

It actually wasn't their choice. They practiced it normally, but the trainer wasn't satisfied with them doing it just like Red Velvet, so they were told to work harder to be more appealing. Basically, their desperation was being called out. If they really wanted to be loved by the viewers, then they had to show it. And so we got this, lol.

I/Yoonji, Yebin, and Suji seemed the most natural, everyone else was overly exaggerating the aegyo and cute stuff. The vocal trainer should have kept Wendy's part with I/Yoonji because it suited her more but oh well, Yebin sang it well too.
