Just realized why I love this so much--the World's Famous Supreme Team sample from "Hey DJ," just like Mariah Carey's "Honey." All three terrific jams.
The resemblance to "Hey DJ" is striking. Unlike other commentators have suggested, there is actually no sampling of "Hey DJ" in this, and there are enough differences for Kadomatsu to call it original work, especially in this era when Japanese music didn't really cross over the pacific quite so much. It is blatant parody though. Dope tunes, in both cases!
most of the city pop are. Most "anime" or "japanophiles" "weeaboo" etc types dont know jackshit and dont know any of the citypop greats, real jpn history, or classic anime

You didn't even do the lyrics right the song is called "Hey DJ" by Famous Supreme Team (1984) and it goes "Hey DJ, just play that song... keep me dancin' all night long" it's called sampling. Every artist including MJ does it
This is Los Angeles, facing east down Wilshire Boulevard at what looks like the intersection of Normandie Avenue. Both are major streets in the heart of the city a couple miles west of downtown. This is actually an intersection in the middle of Koreatown. You can see the Gaylord Apartments which are a landmark of old LA on the left. Also the Oasis Church at the very left. In that open space right in front of the Texaco building (not Texaco anymore) used to be the Ambassador Hotel, which is where Robert Kennedy was assassinated in 1968. The hotel also hosted six of the first fifteen Oscars ceremonies starting in the 1920s. It was replaced by a school in the 2000s. TLDR it's LA. I used to drive down this street a lot and it's a cool area.
