Reminds me of the best snowstorms in Wisconsin when schools were shut down. oh, the happy memories! Hope all are safe. Stay warm Erin. Love your channel.
That kind of snow is common here in Canada, but we have the equipment to dig us out (snow plows etc). My cousins in Scotland (Kirkcaldy) have been posting pictures. Not what they are used to. Stay safe and warm.
That's pretty normal here in N.Y.,yet people do get in panic, when they hear the report. I figure you prepare like for camping and all is good! Fill plenty containers with water, check batteries and break out the barbecue! 😁 My husband is on the F.D. and rescue, though. Love all your hiking blogs!! Beautiful, fun .We don t usually have the winds that you seem to get pretty fiercely. Desperately hope to get to Scotland..listening to you is great ! Thanks for the fun and info. Keep it coming!
It’s crazy! So so much snow! I live in South Devon - the land of palm trees and beach huts - and we’ve had lots of snow down here too. Roads are closed, village is cut off and the initial excitement at first snow in 8 years is starting to wear off now! Stay safe!
yeah its true I saw someone ski ing down the hill this morning I stay in Glasgow not to far from the town and the snow is almost to my thighs and my dads just came off a flight from austraila and it had to get diverted to preswick and he had to get a bus here just because of the snow
We’re suffering 41c here in Perth Western Australia, but I remember walking through the snow as a kid in Carntyne, walking all the way to Smithycroft school and freezing cold mornings going to work at Sir Wm Arrols in Dalmarnock
We also had unusually much snow from Sunday to Tuesday (Hamburg, GER) and it was "very interesting" to drive by car, but I like the winter and snow, everything looks so peaceful and untouched ... and the sound when you step in the snow ... ♥ i love it ♥
My God, I wish I lived in Scotland! I'm not a fan of Texas winters where I've gotta wear shorts and a tee unless I want to sweat my ass off. Good luck, and I hope you all stay safe!
I'm in Balloch. There's like a foot and a half of snow in our garden, and since our road was ploughed the snow at the kerb is literally at my hip if I miss the pavement!
Don't worry about the folks from Narnia. :D You did a good job spelling out the point that it's not just what weather is falling, it's what the region is prepared for. The amount of snow that it takes to shut down a city in the Carolinas, is totally different from the amount that it takes to shut down a city in New York. Different regions are going to have different sized budgets just for crews to clean the snow off the roads, because what they're used to is different. Thanks for recording to let everyone know you're alright. Here's looking forward to your next video.
Exactly! To be fair, it's never usually this bad to have to shovel the pavements. We usually just grit them or throw salt over them. It's the roads so far that are a bit worrying!
Erin but people could slip and hurt themselves as I nearly did if they aren’t cleared/salted. I’ve seen no salt at all. That sand just doesn’t get the job done
Seriously so jealous of you I live in prestwick south Ayrshire and we barely got any snow well more than we’ve ever had but no where near as much as that we got one day off school but north and east Ayrshire got like a week not fair I’m no happy😂
Thank you for the Scotland weather update Erin, much more entertaining than the weather on the news ! Beautiful scenes around the Clyde there. I always look forward to your vlogs.
I had a foot of snow in Holley NY between Buffalo & Rochester NY last night! Schools were canceled. We usually get a lot of snow in this area throughout the winter.
Brilliant short video, loved the graceful music at the 'snow angel' part 😄 I've literally been stuck indoors, tomorrow will be Day Three for me. We do the gritting and even WE can't get to work 😂. It's been tough right across Scotland and here in Glasgow, but I'm hoping the storm from the West can bring some rain to wash some of the snow away and allow folk to get out, or allow care workers to get access to people.
Typical Scottish attitude. Laugh at your dad's misfortune THEN ask if he's ok (whilst laughing) then laugh some more lol. Love it. Had measured 21inches of snow in my garden this morning (whitburn) and my husky was nearly lost in in it. Still she's happy lol x
Catching up on Erin vlogs because Im WAY behind!!! The snow was MENTAL!!!!! I spent the entire time shovelling snow D= This video was great, your dad falling though was funny x'D
Fantastic video Erin! You all really got hit with a heck of a snowstorm there. When I was much younger, we would get hit with at least two like that each winter and we had over 100 cattle to feed every day. We were used to it though and we would just one of the tractors to a wagon and toss around 25 bales onto the wagon and we fed the cattle. I hope you and your family stay safe and be careful. I hope and pray everyone is careful and no one gets hurt or dies from the weather. Be careful with the snow and temperatures. I think you made a wonderful snow angel lass.
I was telling Shaun today that I’ve never heard sledge used that way. When he first said it in his vlog I thoight of a sledgehammer and was trying to figure out why he’d need that lol. We say ‘sled’ in the States. Stay safe and warm.
Great vlog Erin! Not quite as bad up here but still more than we're used to. You'll look back on this vlog in years to come and say "OMG remember that!". Enjoyed the news features at the start too - great touch! 😊
Holy shyt!!! That looks like more snow than we've had all winter here in central Pennsylvania! Yeah I heard the Beast was on its way to you but don't think it was supposed be that bad. Wow. I do feel for all the poor people who are dealing with the major impacts from the storm i.e. those who've been stranded in it..my heart goes out to them! I bet you will be off work for awhile! Nice snow angel by the way :) Glad your dad survived his mishap :)
Wow didn't know Scotland didn't get much snow. It's a typical winter day in Iowa. Which for me sucks since snow and wheelchairs don't mix. Be careful Erin and to all in the area.
Wow the whole country Frozen! In NYC we had a bad snow storm that stopped the city for a day but WOW! The last time we had a snow storm that shut us down for a week I was 7 years old and in April I am turning 50. Stay warm Lass.
as ya ken a live in elgin and elgin was in a bubble like we barely got a inch a snow but lossiemouth which is 20mins by car got it bad and everywhere around elgin got bad but elgin the only thing we really got was the cold whe it was -6c
I left scotland not to long ago living on the eastcoast of england and it was bad coming home for the weeknd and i was lucky to get a train from yorkshire to edinburgh!
The young guy who done the full Hill in Partick on Ski's was a epic laugh to many people doing the AngelChallange for Cancer Paitent's,as us Scot's are so used to good thick Snow ''we always turn it in to a great -time'' apart from those poor people involved in many Motorway Crashe's + Pile-Up's on the M62...Great Video Miss SCOTLAND SO MUCH :d
Nothing wrong with _plenty_ of snow, as long as you don't need to go to work and you have all the supplies you need. I'm in Colorado, and in '97, we had a blizzard that was so bad, I actually saw someone using a snowmobile just to get _around._ Almost no one was driving, because no one could dig their garages out, and the snow plows were _absolutely_ occupied, but the road conditions were _perfect_ for a snowmobile.
I watch a RUclips friends channel and he is from Scotland and he has been sharing the snow storm with us. I hope you and your family are making it through okay. It sure is beautiful but cold. Take care and stay warm.
We had a nice snowfall here in Victoria, Canada, a week ago, but alas 'tis all gone now. So sad. I love the snow. Today was bright sunshine, although really windy, and the wind was cold. I am so jealous of youse in Scotland right now.
I’ve seen it that bad in places I’ve lived in the US, but we were used to it and had trucks to clear it and such. Stay safe and stay warm! It may be a beast, but it is beautiful!
Awww I grew up by the Clyde! Lived in Dunoon while I was growing up. :) Hope you're all warm and safe! There's currently no bread or milk in my town at all and even Perth city centre has no bread at all apparently! :O x
We’ve had a few winters where we’d get as much snow as you got, but we haven’t had it that bad this year! We’ve actually (finally!) had some warmer weather the past two weeks, but what’s getting us tonight is the wind! It’s really bad. Has blown small bits of trees into yards and roads and even rattled the doors to our store as me and my coworker were closing. I thought it was going to rip them clean off! Wouldn’t be the first time it did it! 😱 Stay safe and if you get the chance, enjoy the snow! Maybe your dad will help you build an igloo! 😄
As much as I am NOT a fan of the snow (living in Michigan), I have been in awe of your beautiful photos on Snap and Instagram! It's quite beautiful. But I hate that it has put people in danger. I hope and pray everyone stays safe and warm!
Snow like this is pretty normal in New England where I live but it can be super dangerous when everyone is not prepared. Glad to see your family is holding up well. :-) Stay safe.
I had my shopping on a sledge tonight 😂 only because my sons were both on one each but ended up sharing because my wee dote of a 2 year old kept falling out of his. Best idea ever! My husband is also out driving his taxi in this so guess who won’t be sleeping tonight 😒. Keep safe!
Good evening Erin. I haven't seen the Clyde look that snowy since 1985 when I was assigned Shore Patrol for Greenock/Port Glasgow. I am truly surprised the trains are not running, but if the officials want to discourage folks from venturing out, then they limit public transportation...or perhaps to comply with Health and Safety. Strange, I have a son who lives in Dunoon and he has not mentioned this snow. Yeah, Scotland is temperate climate with the average winter temperature hover around 3°, so you must be frozen. Lastly, that was an awesome snow angel! Be and stay safe!!
This is just a normal day in Utah. We get pelted with snow and we just salt, plow, and move on. Your language / dialect sounds really cool, too. Wish I could understand more of it. I’m going to be starting grad school in Stirling this fall, so I’m going to have to learn to understand Scots!
Looks like a winter wonderland or being in a snow globe. I love making snow angels. Beautiful video Erin. You may have never seen this much snow but try to have fun with it. ⛷️
My mum works in a business where there are multiple ones around the UK and because the one in Scotland is going to be shut for like a week so her work has had to do some in their work that just shows how bad it is! We got like a tiny bit like more than half of all that i hope it clears up soon
I wish you guys the best of luck with the snow!! Looks crazy out there/like my home haha. Hopefully things start to open up and get better soon! It’s supposed to snow a whole bunch here (Canada) in the next few day as well!
Lovely video Erin, where are you ? I wonder if you know a place called Kircaldy, that where my Grandparents came from before moving to the USA back in 1965, your snow is nothing compared to ours in Northern Texas, we get real big snow.
nightmare,,didnt get tot work for 2 days,,,3ft of snow in my driveway and 2ft in my street,,,total nightmare,,,everything closed,,,but local pub was open and packed out all day,,,,heating was never off,,ok Scotland is cold but this was something else,,,high winds and powdery type snow ...very rare,,,was like Siberia ...total nuts.,,,thank god it it rare.
Beast Fae the East, Aye they were no half kiddin on eh!! It was about the same down here in Edinburgh, Knee deep, Luckily had snow chains from the bad snow in 2007 i think it was, So after a wee bit of digging to get the car out of the drive, Could still get about. Wee tip though, If anyone gets stuck in snow or even dirt/sand Etc, Let down your tires to about 10PSI, So they look like there bulging, Saves the day!!
Aw man jealous I'm on the west coast and it's only just started here haha. Hope u don't mind me asking , what type of walking trousers do you have on? Looking for some for Munro climbing but not sure what to go for ☺️
For real though!! I'm in Michigan and this looks like a right proper snow fall haha. I say this as I'm sitting at work watching my car get buried in snow and my boss won't let me leave early. Scotland does things right.
One vid, you're in Glencoe. The next, you show the River Clyde. I thought most of these things were close together until I checked a map. You must do a lot of driving.
More bitter than the Tetleys beer they make here. Even the neighbours white cat is missing apart from footsteps appearing in the snow and the faint meow to be heard lol
That's amazing, Erin. It looks beautiful, but I can imagine how awful it must be for everyone affected. I feel for anyone who wasn't prepared for it with enough supplies, especially young families with children and the elderly. Take care and stay safe. Hope it ends soon and better weather comes your way. 🌬☃🔥😉

My dad's fine btw 😂
by the way, I'm curious, how old are your parents?
yeah its true I saw someone ski ing down the hill this morning I stay in Glasgow not to far from the town and the snow is almost to my thighs and my dads just came off a flight from austraila and it had to get diverted to preswick and he had to get a bus here just because of the snow
Jose', you know that Erin's mother is only 29.
Jay Littleton, I am curious because based on body language Erin really does seems to be the oldest one.
A woman stays 29 years old for about 40 years. Then she has her 40th birthday.
We’re suffering 41c here in Perth Western Australia, but I remember walking through the snow as a kid in Carntyne, walking all the way to Smithycroft school and freezing cold mornings going to work at Sir Wm Arrols in Dalmarnock
I work in a children's home and couldn't get to work, two carers can't get home and have had to do a 72 hour shift, it's mental haha

But it all looks so peaceful and picturesque! Although I feel bad for people who need to travel or who are in danger.
I'm in Balloch. There's like a foot and a half of snow in our garden, and since our road was ploughed the snow at the kerb is literally at my hip if I miss the pavement!
It's terrible! I wanted to get to Balloch on Sat for a pub night but definitely not happening!

they need to get a better system though this is ridiculous. No one has shoveled the sidewalks yet.
Exactly! To be fair, it's never usually this bad to have to shovel the pavements. We usually just grit them or throw salt over them. It's the roads so far that are a bit worrying!

Yeah Scotland is trenched with snow right now. Worst snow weather we’ve had since 2010. X
Yeaaah it's terrible!
I remember 2010, it was so bad we went to Ibeza
Here in Narnia we get waaaaay worse.
Fantastic video Erin! You all really got hit with a heck of a snowstorm there. Hahaha spot on about the weather competitors - we had folk at work competing about who had the toughest journey into the office
Great vlog Erin! Not quite as bad up here but still more than we're used to. You'll look back on this vlog in years to come and say "OMG remember that!". Enjoyed the news features at the start too - great touch! 😊

Wow didn't know Scotland didn't get much snow. It's a typical winter day in Iowa. Which for me sucks since snow and wheelchairs don't mix. Be careful Erin and to all in the area.

Enjoy the weather!! Look at the bright side the wee midges are not out today!!!☺ enjoy your vlog from edmonton canada
Wow. I've spent time in the U.S. Midwest, and that's a proper Midwest storm there. It's crazy to see Scotland that snowed under.
Yeah it's maaad!
Wow that's lots of snow stay safe
Feel for you Scotland. Stay safe.
We had a nice snowfall here in Victoria, Canada, a week ago, but alas 'tis all gone now. So sad. I love the snow. Today was bright sunshine, although really windy, and the wind was cold. I am so jealous of youse in Scotland right now.
I'm jealous of YOU right now!
Last snow here ( California's Central Valley ) was in 1994.Send some this way !
Stay safe and if you get the chance, enjoy the snow!
Maybe your dad will help you build an igloo! 😄
It was so crazy!!!!!!!!! I remember it very well
Not like that yet here in the west of ireland further east is pretty bad though
As much as I am NOT a fan of the snow (living in Michigan), I have been in awe of your beautiful photos on Snap and Instagram! It's quite beautiful. But I hate that it has put people in danger. I hope and pray everyone stays safe and warm!
Thank you! I'm not a fan of the snow at all either :(
Absolutely Mental Snow

I literally LOL'd at 2:26 😂. Glad your dad was ok, too, haha ☃️
Snow like this is pretty normal in New England where I live but it can be super dangerous when everyone is not prepared. Glad to see your family is holding up well. :-) Stay safe.
I think we barely got about 10-20cm here in the south that year, nice video.
I had my shopping on a sledge tonight 😂 only because my sons were both on one each but ended up sharing because my wee dote of a 2 year old kept falling out of his. Best idea ever! My husband is also out driving his taxi in this so guess who won’t be sleeping tonight 😒. Keep safe!
Hahaha the sledge shopping idea is brilliant! Keep safe too!
This is just a normal day in Utah. We get pelted with snow and we just salt, plow, and move on.
Your language / dialect sounds really cool, too. Wish I could understand more of it. I’m going to be starting grad school in Stirling this fall, so I’m going to have to learn to understand Scots!
That’s fun weather in the winter!
Omg the comment about weather competitors I was pissing hahahaha how true is that
Hahaha it does my nut in!

Looks like a winter wonderland or being in a snow globe. I love making snow angels. Beautiful video Erin. You may have never seen this much snow but try to have fun with it. ⛷️

Hey Erin, heard about this from a lot of friends in the UK, hope you're safe and warm. Take care
Lovely video Erin, where are you ?
I wonder if you know a place called Kircaldy, that where my Grandparents came from before moving to the USA back in 1965, your snow is nothing compared to ours in Northern Texas, we get real big snow.

Aw man jealous I'm on the west coast and it's only just started here haha. Hope u don't mind me asking , what type of walking trousers do you have on? Looking for some for Munro climbing but not sure what to go for ☺️
Mine are just Regatta ones! They're thick and water resistant and kept me completely dry despite lying in the snow 😂
Erin Aw thank you will have a look, do they have a specific name or are they just regatta?
So as someone that lives in northeast Pennsylvania.. I can say you got a decent amount of snow and can brag about it!
Hahaha there's always someone :P I'm waiting for a comment on this video...
Haha only teasing, I think that's a fair amount of snow for anyone. My family over there was telling us all about it. Have fun and be safe!
For real though!! I'm in Michigan and this looks like a right proper snow fall haha. I say this as I'm sitting at work watching my car get buried in snow and my boss won't let me leave early. Scotland does things right.
Hahah not you! You didn't leave a competitive comment :P
There was 2 ft of snow a few years ago. It did not all at once though but built up.
Stay safe and warm Erin. Get Amy to help ya build a big snowman. 😂👍⛄ Preferably while you are drunk. 🍸😂😂😂
I would if any of my pals lived near me ha!
One vid, you're in Glencoe. The next, you show the River Clyde. I thought most of these things were close together until I checked a map. You must do a lot of driving.
Was out in -10 windchill today. Was baltic in a nice way though. I think I can sing higher notes now lol
The wind is so bitter! Ha!
More bitter than the Tetleys beer they make here. Even the neighbours white cat is missing apart from footsteps appearing in the snow and the faint meow to be heard lol
Like that where i am in scotland snow is so deep ❤'d the vid
Thank you!
It is so true it was bad but by my place it is melting
It's a nice 9c here in Oklahoma
That's amazing, Erin. It looks beautiful, but I can imagine how awful it must be for everyone affected.
I feel for anyone who wasn't prepared for it with enough supplies, especially young families with children and the elderly.
Take care and stay safe. Hope it ends soon and better weather comes your way. 🌬☃🔥😉
