Could we just take a minute to appreciate this channel? The videos you've made have totally changed my perspective on guitar, in a way that's exactly what I needed. Combined with your Galactic Program it's been a complete transformation for me. I just wanted to say thanks!
My dad cousin who gave his guitar. He didn't know much but he is always with his and gave his while ha had leave our community. That's how I feel in love playing guitar. Even little I could play I stayed on it . I met guys like you we didn't know internet 1985 . This is the best thing I've learned that stays with me as a family member I live by myself Thanks guitar and internet that push to learn good stuff at 65. I feel blessed You're a blessing Daniel You give all that free Thank you brother.
Daniel... This channel continuously "Blows My Mind" which in turn... "Mows My Blind" !!! At 72 years of age and 57 years of playing and 80% of vision loss due to glaucoma, you have brought forth volumes of new ideas of playing the guitar and many diverse melodic concepts that have inspired, developed and evolved my playing. So very thankful for you. Bless you.
From the first Chord my ear is intrigued and my fingers then seek the notes. Slowly does it and the notes will follow. Gently does it and the flow gets better and hopefully speedier too. Quite melodious too. Let's give it a go. Thanks
Absolutely super beatiful - will aply this also in violin and lately keyboard (building one true cromatic now). I`m very thankfull. So bored with my own stuff often - I need this!
Hi Daniel, thanks so much for this awesome video! I have your Galactic courses and was wondering if the sheet music for this is available on there somewhere or not. The courses are amazing and highly recommend if someone else’s reading this comment!
Thank you for your comment and for sharing your experience with the Galactic courses! I'm glad to hear that you've it helpful and that you're enjoying the material. As for the sheet music for the opening phrase you mentioned I'd be happy to tab it out and share it with you and anyone else who might find it useful. Just let me know if that's something you're interested in, and I'll do my best to help out. In the meantime, I hope you continue to enjoy the courses and that you find them helpful in your musical journey! P.S. There are so many ideas like this phrase, and much more, that are tabbed / notated out and played slowly/fast in my '51 Galactic Jazz Licks' course. I highly recommend checking it out if you haven't already. (feel free to email me about it) stay in touch. Thanks for being here - Daniel
@@WeissGuitar I’m planning on buying the 51 Galactic licks as well soon. It’d be better if I try to figure out the video intro by ear from the video but I’ll ask if I was stuck thanks so much really appreciate it! Your videos are awesome
Great stuff,..But i can not figure out how do you connect D and F Major7..??? Aha...edit..i see so you are talking about Dminor,...i thought to myself there is no F in D major thats why it was strange...Greetings.
Once again, super-inspiring and next-level content, Daniel. That second standing in for the tonic/root creates a whole new set of colours. One suggestion: being able to see a couple of chord diagrams could be helpful here. Have you ever considered selling individual tabs for your videos using a platform like gumroad? You can set a minimum price and viewers who wish to support and can afford to do so can pay more if they wish (a bit like on bandcamp)?
Hey Patrick, Thanks for all the comments and support, I really appreciate you being here 🙋♂ Sometimes I tab out the videos, and sometimes I just go for the more open source blog type videos, such as this one. In both cases I currently share some lesson transcriptions in the 'RUclips Bonus folder' of Galactic Modern Guitar (Series) and I will keep that in mind for future videos. Thanks again for sharing your input, and continues comments (which I enjoy reading btw :)🙏
Hey Daniel. gorgeous and revealing stuff as always. your Galactic Modern Guitar course has been inspiring and is absolutely unrivaled in all respects IMO. thank you! btw - I cant quite make out the term you use at 1:57-59 seconds in. A Chronicle reference of some kind. if you would be so kind to clarify.
Thanks so much, Mike! That made my day! The art of konnakol (South Indian Carnatic music) Is vocalizing percussion syllables from simple to extremely complicated rhythms. 2 years ago I posted a few mini lessons about it and I'd love to do a full video someday, Thank you again for all your support. I love reading your comments. (As always, feel free to ask me anything)
do you have for sale some books or videos ? I like to buy it !!!! Not pdf !!! just dvd discs and normal books ?????????????????????????????????????? For me your lessons are the best and Pls ASAP
@@WeissGuitar I like how you summarized the overall idea into bulletpoints. It makes it easier to turn into exercises as well as applying them in a musical context. You're a great player/musician and I thank you for sharing your insights and approach. I know you're likely very busy but it would be awesome to get a video of you discussing your musical background i.e. when you started playing, did you grow up in a musical family ect.
@@airamakknom Thanks for the compliment! I'm glad you found the bulletpoints useful. As for my musical background, I started playing music at age 13 and grew up in a musical family - my father is a musician. I've had the opportunity to learn from great teachers and explore various musical genres. I appreciate your interest! I think ill make this video for you, But not sure how to title it so people will find it interesting :)
@@WeissGuitar You're welcome. I really appreciate the reply. Also thanks for considering making the vid. As for the title... hmm... Galactic Beginnings lol. Thanks again, have a great day!
you lost me when you said "conical" then some what is it? Indian word? But anyway I think Gambale likes this harmonic concept. I hear him use this a lot.
Haha, no worries - so Konnakol is the art of performing percussion syllables vocally in South Indian Carnatic music. Its pretty awesome :) I might do a video on it. Thanks for being here! please feel free to ask me questions.
@@WeissGuitar ah ok that was my guess and why I said "indian" word. I heard it on an album I like to listen to called "Spanish Wave" by Dr. L Subramanium with some great guests... Tom Scott plays I want to say Lexicon. A midi wind instrument... Tune Im referring to is called "Seventh Heaven". I heard they spend many practice hrs for those rhythms. On tablas anyway.
