      Looking very forward to it.
      Btw. I have to give big thank to you for motivating me for running much much more than i used to..
      I really like how you combine the vegan lifestyle with running. I have been following durianrider for a while now - and I'm happy to come across your channel.
      It just made me go much more natural with now focusing in running more than cycling.
      Been cycling for 3 years now. It's all good.
      But now I see the natural beauty and freedom in running.
      So again , thank you for that.

    It's awesome that you were able to witness this great runner. But capturing it on video of this length was a bit too much. You trailed behind him for minutes, he might have thought you were out to harm him. Just be mindful next time and stay unnoticed unseen.

    • @runningbroscience1534
      @runningbroscience1534  8 лет назад +9

      Thanks and I understand your concern, you have a love for running and respect for the 'greats' as I do. Bekele was not the only athlete running that day, there were many other elite athletes about. They are also accompanied by their physios and at times management who run with them for awhile chatting away or just silent. They have been using the park facilities for some years now and they are used of my presence. I have been observing them from the days of Stefano Baldini year after year all the way through to the late Sammy Wanjiru to Haile Gebresalassie to Kipsang, Mutai to Kipchoge. I have been there as Mo Farah added the finishing touches to his first marathon attempt. I speak to their physio's and management first and get their approval. At times I am not the only one watching, camera crews sometimes show up. I also work at a track facility where the athletes have permission from my management to come in and sharpen up on their last minute speed sessions if need be or to use the bathroom and this is where we get to talk and its not just me asking questions, they have some of their own too. So you see my friend I am not just some rowdy drunk or over enthusiatic Tour De France fan all up in the face of the athletes, blocking the road or protesting. I am just a fan like you who felt I needed to share my experience with other fans like you in the hope that it enriches our lives and answers some questions as to how these great athletes prepare while despelling the hundreds of wrong articles and books written about how to prepare for a marathon. :)

    • @BM-uk3sh
      @BM-uk3sh 6 лет назад +1

      Lord Vic - they are training. It is wrong for you to expected them to stop or even converse with you. If they acknowledge your greeting or return it that should be about it. Again it is not a social run it is preparation for a Marathon. I would not follow an athlete trying to train for a race like the poster did, it is distracting and unnecessary.

    • @akremamara8349
      @akremamara8349 6 лет назад +3

      Bekele also is very friendly but he's a different character, very shy and introverted, and his English is quite limited if you see documentaries about him you'll see what I am talking about (Even documentaries about him are a few because he doesn't open up to the media much). On the other side, Haile is talkative, extroverted and more charismatic with a better English.
