Ita really cool seeing them back at it after all this time. I still remember when they announced they were done. On another note: Metalcore is defined by elements of hardcore punk and metal influenced guitars as well as the singing screaming combo. At least, that is how I have always thought of it if you have to slap a label on the scene.
Woe is me are metalcore because they're too heavy to be post hardcore, but not heavy enough to be Deathcore. They have early 2000's heavy metal riffs that can be heard in their music.
Genesis is a great album. I think it holds up better than a lot of albums. I love the straight forward and all American lyrics. A story to tell music video was so awesome I loved when Austin came in and lifted Hance up after saving him. SAY WHATEVER YOU NEED TO SAYYYYYY. Wow family first is a great song. American dream ep was awesome too
I agree with Genesis being a good album but Austin was one of the main reasons what woe is me disintegrated, he caused so much trouble in the past album and in Genesis. You can watch some documentary videos from the cozy representative RUclipsr who it goes into great detail what was their rise and fall.
@@messyjesse1173 yea I love that dude cozy. But he didn’t cover anything I don’t know. I like his content to relive the times in a way. I always liked the Woe Is Me songs from Numbers back in the day but I liked Woe Is Me more as a band after Genesis. I never liked any releases from Issues. Honestly I couldn’t believe people ever liked Issues lol
@@messyjesse1173 the Hance / Michael combo was perfect. I think they only released Vengeance with that dual vocalist before Doriano came for Michael. Idk I think Woe Is me is perfect now. Hance is a great singer and Michael Bohn has that star power. Austin is a powerhouse and the other dudes are key components. I hope to get a full album from the Hance/ Michael combo
Great interview!! They played a hell of a show too Im currently uploading the full set🤘🏽. Good job on asking some of the questions that we were all wondering. And to answer the question about what makes them metalcore, I would say it's not only the combination of singing/screaming its that the singing is somewhat of a punk/pop style and the screaming usually has heavy guitars that play breakdowns that people mosh to. But I have heard people call them post-hardcore too so 🤷🏽♂️
Yes. Post-hardcore and metalcore often go hand in hand. Which their album Number[s] is a great example of. Tempo changes frequently, breakdowns, yet ambient and experimental parts, singing, screaming, passionate kinda sound.
@@MrBenGarcia Issues is working on new material and Skylar is doing vocals. They're just going slow af cause Skylar's involvement with Twenty One Pilots. I'm equally stoked for Woe is Me's future stuff as much as Issues either way ngl.
MICHAEL~
I still can’t believe Woe is Me is back. I hope for some new music from them!
Comin’ soon with their new song ❤
so glad they are back!!!!!
So happy this band is back I love woe is me

What makes a metalcore is breakdowns def
Great interview, keep them coming!
Awesome!
6:15 the bangers 😏😏
I’ve seen some live footage of the shows. And yes the fans were loud

Woe is me is surprisingly heavy when they break it down. My favorite work is their American Dream EP

Full circle lmfao not gonna happen but all I heard was we're gonna leave and start issues back up as a big f you to tyler 🤣
Well when you get kicked out of Issues, why not?
Well issues is dead now and Michael’s still doing shit. Goes to show who had the heart for this all along.
