These videos are incredible. You’ve made things clear that has had me in the dark for way too long. Thanks. I’ve always wanted to learn this song, even more since it’s been in that commercial.

Great! - this is one of those 'i can't believe i never thought of that' moments. Over-reliance on arpeggio/chord tone thinking on my part. Can't wait to incorporate this.

Another great lesson Pat Martino as well as George and others use the minor concept over major chords but your explaination is much easier to grasp. Thanks Rich

Does not sound like Breezin to me. What am I missing?
    Beautiful though

Kinda late but the actual song Breezin' is written in the key of D major and George plays mainly A mixolydian with some chromatic/blues thrown in. Here, Rich has essentially transposed the melody to C major and is improvising various modes over the chord progression C - Am - Dm - G. If you're curious, the chord progression in Breezin' is actually D5 - Bm7 - Em7 - G.
I think the video is more about showing how to add blues to a major key than about Breezin' specifically.

My ears are remembering Spyro Gyra Morning Song (long time ago) when you play these scales. Very reminiscent. Do you hear the connection?
