Heh this is my first video in which i make the first view. And what a video it is. Thank you for giving away amazing free lessons John. There aren't many videos of true masters of the Jazz idiom teaching for free as such.

Really cool stuff. I'm watching one after the other. Just wanted to give you a tip on the recording. The noise on the bachground sounds like the lens stabilizer system. thanks for this serie of videos John!

Hi John. First thanks so much for your greatvideos! What about the idea of the force coming from the weight of your arm and using the big muscles through your shoulder and back as I have heard. Some say use your thumb as a guide rather than to provide force. I'm confused because it's hard to play without pressing some with your thumb. Thanks again.

Hi John, thank you for the great info. Regarding the 3rd finger of the left hand, do you ever pay much attention to it? Mine tends to point out across the fingerboard even when my 1, 2, and 4 are in line with a string. Is that a problem to be concerned about? Thank you!
