That’s interesting. Just watched the _IKMU_ episode of IU’s Palette where she covers their “Farewell” song. I thought it was amazing until I looked up the original. In the same way, they covered “Twenty-Three” which was good but I know the original IU version so well that it was a bit unsettling. When Arin from _Oh My Girl_ covered it, I had the same reaction. Yet when I heard IU cover their _Dolphin_ I was just as disappointed. It certainly makes one appreciate how these songs are crafted to fit the artist’s strengths.
