And Standardbred owners and trainers would be quite put out over the irresponsible use of the riding crop. See the horse at 1:56? He has a spooky eye, it's what horseman refer to when they know a horse is spooked or frightened. This guy knows he's about to be hit over and over, this racing is a joke. Not only to say, these are Standardbreds; yet they act high strung and hot blooded; Thoroughbred American Pharoah was more toned down then these guys; trotting/pacing horses are supposed to be calm and docile, I have never seen harness racers so uptight and nervous. What is going on? Someone with horse sense say something please? Or am I just another ignorant dope whose been around horses since age 5?
