The wonderfully talented Wolfgang Meyer playing the clarinet part (brother of Sabine - altogether an indecently talented family). Sumptuous playing by all. Thanks for posting.
The young Zemlinsky, who was close to Mahler and Schoenberg (who married his sister) wrote down a very inspired score, walking in the paces of Brahms' op. 114 without imitating him, and also avoiding the tense expressionism of his friends. It is neither a postromantic work, in spite of its lyrism, sometimes rather calm, sometimes exhibiting outbursts of either melancholy or passion, fully integrated in the overarching mood. This mood is very peculiar, personal and is not easy to describe. You will immediately perceive it when listening to this trio. .❤❤❤🧡💛🧡❤❤❤
Très beau trio aux accents terriblement Brahmsiens ! Grand merci à Damon J.H.K. opur ce partage Very beautiful trio with terribly Brahmsian accents! Many thanks to Damon J.H.K. for this sharing
Alexander von Zemlinsky:d-moll Klarinéttrió Op.3 1.Allegro ma non troppo 00:07 2.Andante 13:14 3.Allegro 21:31 Wolfgang Meyer-klarinét Mischa Meyer-gordonka Markus Hadulla-zongora
In my case, thanks to IMSLP for putting it out. The piano part may be more difficult than that of the Brahms Trio for the same combination, but I think it would be worth it There's lots of great writing & the combination of instruments is beautifully done.
m. 76 of the second movement the clarinet should have a written A-natural instead of a Bb. It's wrong in the score but performed correctly on this recording.
Brahms may be his musical reference but it's very different in sound spirit more oriental experimental fusion. it's kind of ridiculous to refer to Zemlinsky as a minor master of the fin de siecle. his mastery is on a par with Schoenberg and Schreker perhaps even better. he taught Schoenberg how to compose as he was his brother in law. but then Arnold dumped Alex's sister.

Huebsch! You do nice uploads with competent unknowed pieces
Amazingwork
A lovely piece and well played.
Thanks for uploading, this is one of my favorite pieces! Are you going to do more Zemlinsky videos? IMO there is a lack of score videos of his music.
Very nice

Даже не верится, что тот же самый музыкант через несколько лет напишет «Карлика». Напишет абсолютно другим языком
Wolfgang Meyer OMG. No way I can tell it's a German player playing on an Ohler clarinet.

This kinda sounds as if Brahms had written a Mozart trio.
A question:
How did you fill the entire screen with the score and eliminate any black background?
@@DamonJHK what is the size of every pic or page? this would help...
Strong influenced by brahms
Utterly boring and derivative.
elaborate
@@enya6224 Just his opinion, nothing wrong with that. I liked it a lot all of a sudden
not boring
Sooooooo boring
