Let's take a full look at the last-hurrah to the second generation of the Bentley Continental GT in the form of the Supersports Coupe and see what it's about! What do you think? A special thank you goes to HR Owen Bentley Berkshire for the opportunity to drive the car and experience what it's like.
We get started with a tour around both the exterior and interior of the car to see the changes from the Continental's W12 Speed variant including new wheels, use of carbon fibre, a rear wing, aerodynamic bumpers and an Akrapovic exhaust system. Then it's time to jump in and take it for a drive to experience 2,280kg combined with 710PS and 1,017Nm of torque and how that sits as a supercar or super-GT.

A lightweight Bentley doesn't make a great deal of sense given their market so it made sense to just give it loads of power to compensate that!

I really miss when opening the hood allowed you to actually see the engine and every detail of it. These days it's just a load of plastic

I was taken out for a ride in a 1st gen SS by a friend of mine who works at Bentley and was shocked by the starkness of it, strut bar instead of rear seats, fixed front seats no height adjust. Then you realise it's really all about the amazing engine. Looking forward to what comes next.

Hey Shmee, I have a question. Does this car use the completely new W12 from the Bentayga? Or does it retain the old W12 with revisions? I'm guessing larger turbos/upgraded cooling/software would be needed for the old engine to produce this kind of power.
oh man this car is a dream. luxury yet so ridiculously fast. if i had the money this would be the car.
There's also a GT3-R version without backseats based on the V8 model if i'm not mistaken. Have a good day!
Hi,Tim, I've been thinking at the engine of this new continental and the top torque that is able to unleash and I remember another luxurious coupe that was able to develop a kind of that amount of torque and it's the S65!!! Why don't you think it over a car like these two may be a good upgrade for the FF,perhaps put it next to another Ferrari like the 812 or the "tdf" although it will be left hand drive but more engaging to drive than the FF?
I've Seen the Continental the first time in Berlin 2004, i look at the Window by the building to this car, the cardealer comes out and say to me i can sit in this car, since this Moment its my favourite car i love the Continental GT every year more... This is absolutly the coolest conti GT Bentley ever created

The first gen super sports was not a front seat only. There was an option for rear seats that many cars had. Not sure if that option was available in the UK
I would prefer the single tone white paintwork, but I do like the black alloys and radiator grill
Bentleys have an interesting nickname thanks to their Racing Heritage, usually Bentley cars are rather massive and intimidating due to their weight and Power, hence the name Land Yachts or simple, Boatley, I love the continental GT, I would love to own one myself but the price tag is slightly out of reach for me, But I am a fan of the Car and their Racing teams using the Bentley, be it M-Sport or Team Parker Racing. How about it Schmee, a Bentley Continental GT for your collection ?

A luxury sports coupe should have analog gauges. Digital only when its necessary. When the car's computer can fix the car itself. Now that's an update I'd like to see. Car self repair system activated / radiator hose repaired / radiator fluid is at normal level /using emergency radiator refill tank. You are green GO!

Is this really a second generation? To me, it always was just a facelift, since the silhouette is the same and the interior didn't change that much.
Funny that it's my car on all of the screens 😎 gen 2 still the best looking Bentley! All you need is a CGT Mini cooper and a Triumph 😎👍 didn't plan to by all English it just happened when I was looking after bang for the buck.
I really think the carbon fibre accents look better than chrome on the Bentley continental. I think it makes it look more sporty.

2218 kg, so its even 12kg heavier than even a Lamborghini Urus!! Bentleys are always crazy heavy and that is why other cars with that top speed have such a quicker acceleration than Bentleys. Someone should show Bentley a V12 instead of a W12 because I don't think they know what that is. And, it the V12 is still relaxing and creates more power like Astons.

No. It's simply a way to keep value in a model toward the end of its lifecycle. The most hilarious one is the 3 series BMW; there's an M Sport "Shadow Edition" now that is literally a slightly altered trim package on a model in its last months of production.
Which would you rather have, Aventador or the Bentley?
I do wonder if 209 mph is a guesstimate or accurate number - the Mclaren 720s has 710 bhp to the Bentleys 700, the MAC weighs 800 kilos less and flat out only does 211, yes it will get to that speed much faster than the Bentley but 209 seems a stretch doesn't it..

The weight of a house but no trunk motor to save weight the things car manufacturers do to save weight are silly sometimes no door handles, thinner carpet,my favorite no metal badge just a sticker not much real weight saving with any of those

In my opinion, this is a classic case of how a Greedy Company takes its customers' intelligence for granted. First you make a really expensive and exclusive (300 examples only) GT3-R and customers buy it mostly because of its Exclusivity'. Then once you realise that this riddddiiiicuuulous concept sells like hell, you make another 710 of them under another name and sell it again for a hefty price. SO you screw the ones who thought they would be the only 300 previliged ones with a 'winged' bentley. COME ON - THE EXTRA PAIR OF SEATS AND A BIGGER ENGINE ISN'T FOOLING ANYONE. DO THEY REALLY THINK PEOPLE DON'T KNOW ITS ANOTHER GT3-R? WITH THE AKRA EXHAUSTS, CARBON FIBER DASH (although with a different pattern this time), THE WING-SPOILER-DIFFUSER set, LACK OF BOOT MOTORS,same price, same performance, SAME BLOODY PREPOSITION! They , screwed their GT3R customers, diluted the brand and insulted the intelligence of many people. AND I was hoping SHMEE would address this topic or at least discuss the differences (if any) between the Supersports and GT3R. ALSO WILL SOMEONE FROM BENTLEY (or otherwise) PLEASE TELL ME - DOES THE SUPERSPORTS ALSO FEATURE TORQUE VECTORING BY BRAKING AND REDUCED GEARING AT THE FINAL DRIVE?????????
